My air conditioner stopped working in June 2024 following during a long trip in 100+ degree weather since it was blowing only air temperature air. I took it to Honda of Escondido and they determined it was the evaporator. The cost of the repair was ,$2823 on with 64,971 miles on my car. I've been told that it's a safety hazard to drive in a car without AC because of the fact the window defroster won't work, thus making it difficult to drive safely. In addition, during our road trip, we had to keep stopping to get ice water to cool ourselves off. It was not safe to be driving in the car long distance in high temperatures.

Air conditioner failed due to faulty condenser and faulty evaporator leaking refrigerant. Window defroster no longer functions resulting in poor visibility. Honda dealer refused to complete repair as evaporator is not included in Service Bulletin 21-017. Dealer quoted $2800 to repair and offered no goodwill discount when requested through Honda America.

Hello, I have received a safety recall notice (23V-858) from Honda back in February and another one in July. I have tried to get them to repair it a few times, but they said they do not have the part yet but should have it sometime in the fall. They are telling me that they are only fixing cars with issues at the moment, which I cannot with 100% certainty say my car has the issue they are talking about. The CSR told me that I would have to pay for diagnostics if they found my car not having the issue in question, which of course I do not want to do. My question is, does Honda not have the duty to fix my car in a timely manner if they have issued a recall for it? I have been waiting for at least 7 months now? That is way too long? The AC evaporator failed with only ~ 35000 miles. This is required to make the defroster work properly, a safety issue. It was replaced at my expense when the condenser was replaced under a mfg recall. There were no warnings lights, just warm air.

I bought this car used with a governmental help from replace my ride program, since I bough the car form a dealer [XXX] ) within few days, I took it to the dealer twice for thermostat replacement and spark plugs. and recently, There was an extended warranty from Honda for the ac condenser as this car has a major problem with ac. I took it to the dealer Honda of Riverside, California and they told me, indeed your condenser needs replacement and the good news, In California, Honda has extended its warranty. Then, they said, but you need to replace your evaporator and I need to pay $2350.26 and they refused to replace the ac condenser under warranty without replacing the evaporator and paying that much of money. I called Honda for help (goodwill) and after about a month (without having my car and many emails and phone call and time and efforts) Honda final response was "sorry, you have high mileage" Case [XXX] I really need your help to protect me from them. - #11600336July 9, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This is an issue, not an incident. When using the regenerative braking paddles on the steering wheel, the vehicle can decelerate at a rapid pace. When this happens, the brake lights do no light up even though it’s slowing down at a rapid pace. This could cause an accident if cars behind do not notice the deceleration.

AC working intermittently since the day I bought. Honda replaced the condenser but now the evaporator is leak. This caused the defrost can not work properly. The leaking condenser and the evaporator are well known problems for Clarity owners. Honda should recall this.
