Honda did a software update on my vehicle tied to the recall below. The dealership stated to me that they need to replace the VSA modulator and they are claiming this is not covered since they did the software update a few years ago. I believe they are directly corollated as I don't drive the car much only have 27K miles on the car. They are asking me to the pay for replacing the modulator VSA and are stating that this is not covered under the recall. It's hard for me to beleive how they are unrelated if the software is causing the unit to malfunction and we know the unit needs replacement there is a direct connection. This is costing me $2500. I was in an accident on November 22, 2024 wherein my vehicle became difficult to control due to issues with steering. I was severely injured. I broke my left arm, had a right orbital floor fracture, and a severe concussion. I later learned my vehicle was under recall for issues related to a defect in the steering column of my vehicle. I was not able to get the vehicle repaired under the recall due to the accident ocurring prior to notice of the recall.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Hello. My 2024 civic sport had an automatic brake system that failed to operate correctly. As a result of being blinded by the sun that brake system could have potentially prevented the accident in question. Instead, the system did not deploy and the car ended up totaled with both air bags deployed after just a 20 mph fender bender. If the intended systems worked as they were designed, the accident wouldn’t have happened in the first place.

At approximately 25k miles, the steering became "sticky" at all operating speeds. Extra effort was required to maneuver the vehicle or to simply keep it within the travel lane. The car was not safely operable prior to repair. A local dealership replaced the steering rack and pinion (at my cost). Issue was resolved.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel to the left or the right, the steering wheel required excessive force to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with rack and pinion failure. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the rack and pinion failure was confirmed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinon needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 56,064.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback. The contact stated that while driving in traffic on the right-hand side at 10 MPH, there was slight snow, and another vehicle on the left-hand side started to spin out of control. Colliding with the contact, making the contact vehicle spin out of control and going under the side of the overpass until the vehicle came to a stop. Initially, there were no warning lights illuminated. After the crash, an oil pressure low message was displayed. None of the air bags deployed. The contact did not suffer injuries. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center which was in the process of being repaired. The contact was informed by the insurance company that his claim had been approved for the damages. Then the collision center informed him once the vehicle was disassembled there was extensive repair in damages. The dealer was not made aware of the incident. The contact tried to make the manufacturer aware of the failure but he was not able to speak with a manager. The failure mileage was 4,500.

My husband and I purchased a 2015 Honda Civic 3 years ago. We have maintained proper maintenance and have the documentation on this. At 118,000 ish miles, my [XXX] son was merging onto the interstate at night just a day or so after a snowstorm. As he was merging the car unexpectedly began to lose power. He tried to compensate by pushing the gas harder but realized her needed to pull over. The merge lane had construction cones and there was a bank of snow on the shoulder prohibiting him from getting over safely. He contacted the police he came out and he contacted a tow truck. He had to sit at the end of a merge lane for 45 minutes before a police officer could get there. We are fortunate he was not plowed by a semi or other vehicle. The car was towed to Richmond Car & Truck Center. After inspection, it was determined a new motor was needed. We paid to have that replaced only to be told after that it was still not operable. The transmission was out. The likely-hood of a motor and transmission going out was practically unheard of. The mechanic was even at a loss. I researched and found my son's make/model did have a recall on the transmission although, his was not part of that. We are thankful he is safe but I have never heard of a Honda losing a transmission/engine at 118,000 miles. We believe this is a transmission flaw. No warning light was ever illuminated and no issues of a problem ever existed until this incident. We have documentation. This has been reported to Honda but I have not received a response. I am the original owner. Had the compressor fail on year 4 (got it replaced)and now in year 6 the evaporator has failed. Dealer inspected and determined both. In Phoenix, AZ with heat advisories throughout the summer it’s not safe/healthy to be in the car exposed to such heat. It seems the entire A/C system is flawed but extended warranties only apply to condenser and compressor.

Sometimes whenI go to brake the brake pedal goes all the way up and I can’t press it down to stop the vehicle. This only lasts a few seconds then the brakes return to normal. I believe this may be due to a previous recall. “A common brake issue reported with the 2019 Honda Civic is a potential problem with the brake system due to a faulty tie rod fastener connecting the brake master cylinder and brake booster, which could result in improper braking and is currently subject to a recall by Honda” Not sure why my vehicle is showing 0 recalls under the VIN.

June of 23' I took my car to the dealership Honda. My steering was locking and causing the car to drift left and right. They diagnosed the car as needing a steering gearbox. It behaves in the same manner as the previous year Honda with a magnet problemThe recall states only 54 cars have this recall which seems like there may be more out there and I am one of them. It I was quoted many thousands of dollars to repair "the electronic steering gear box assembly. I have still not fixed the car. It continues to drift left and right and feels like a locking magnet catches. Honda states they will not stand behind the part and require me to pay for the fix. I believe that the defective part was not of my doing or fault and that Honds should honor the recall for this vehicle. This is not the first time I requested your help. I have paperwork I can send as I am unable to send attachments. Please let me know what you need from me and I will get it Thanks [XXX]
