The 10th generation Honda Civic's have multiple extended warranties from Honda for bad Air Compressors and Condensers. And the A/C Evaporator needs to be included in this. My car only has 60,000 miles on it, is not driven daily, and my A/C Evaporator is leaking Freon due to a bad part. The parts for these A/C systems were designed poorly and degrade too quickly.

The ac system has failed. I took it to the dealership to have the condenser replaced, as Honda has extended the warranty on it due to the failure, but the evaporative core has also been affected and is leaking. Honda knows that this is a problem. There are many reports from other Civic owners that have had the same issue. Honda refuses to acknowledge this, and will not replace the condenser until the evaporative core is fixed. I am currently homeless, and live in my vehicle full time. I need my air conditioning to be working as the heat here is a safety risk. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership. The only symptom that occurred was the air conditioning was no longer blowing cold, and it occurred on February 24, 2026. I have contacted Honda and requested goodwill assistance, but they have refused to help in any way.

The contact's son owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while her son was driving at a moderate speed through city traffic, the vehicle drove over a pothole and the front and rear passenger’s side air bags deployed. The contact's son had not suffered any injuries; however, the front passenger’s side seat belt was damaged. Despite the air bag deployment, the vehicle was still drivable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was repeatedly informed by various employees that they could not guarantee that any repair performed to the air bags would fix the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The insurance company referred the contact to the NHTSA to file a complaint. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (Air Bags); and associated the failure with the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

The electric power steering is malfunctioning. At highway speeds, steering becomes sticky. It is difficult to make small adjustments (such as to stay within the lane), leading to overcorrections to compensate. I worry that the stickiness and associated overcompensation may lead cause a crash if it persists. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center nor inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. However, I have called Honda and it is a known issue. There is already a recall for 2022 to 2025 Honda Civic's for this problem in the electric power steering, but my car is not currently included in the recall. I did not have any warning messages. I first noticed this issue on 3/9/26 when my car had ~12800 miles on it.

Car has only 45,000 miles. Steering suddenly “sticks” on the highway. You have to apply pressure to break it out of sticking in the middle position. Seems to be EPS system. Saw on line that it’s a known issue.

My 2018 Honda Civic started more than a year ago having STICKY STEERING. When looking online, it is a known problem with later Honda's, but the dealer will not help on a 2018 model. The issue was felt by the Honda dealer sitting still. Though their head mechanic said they could try an "experimental" gearbox lube for approx. $450. At 50 mph on curves the problem feels downright dangerous. Steering noticeably sticks, then lets loose under pressure. At freeway speeds getting difficult to keep car straight and is very tiring to drive. My worry is it's not going away and seems to getting worse.

The contact owned a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact's vehicle was involved in a six-vehicle crash on a major highway. The contact vehicle was crashed into twice on the front end and once on the rear. The contact stated that the contact's vehicle was the fifth vehicle involved in the six-vehicle crash. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned a total loss by the insurance company. The contact was later treated at a local medical center. The contact sustained injuries to the right side, upper and lower back, and the neck. A Police report was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 37,082.

Steering is sticking when driven for while, making it very unsafe for myself and others and sometimes it sticks and the wheel has to be jerked back which could cause over correction.

Steering can be "sticky" in warm weather, especially above 70 degrees. The issue is intermittent and almost disappears during colder weather, below 60 degrees. I have been noticing this issue for the last couple of years. The issue is particularly noticeable at highway speeds 45mph+. At these speeds the steering wheel becomes somewhat "stuck" and won't turn until you apply enough force to overcome this "stickiness", after which point it starts turning normally, just as expected. The amount of force you need to overcome the "stickiness" is not too much, but it's more than expected, and enough to reduce the control you have over the vehicle's steering. I believe that this "stickiness" is a safety hazard because at highway speeds it makes it harder for you to make small steering adjustments to stay in your lane. This is because you need to apply more steering force to overcome the "stickiness" of the steering wheel, which can result in your car steering more than the desired amount, which can be dangerous. I usually find myself having to immediately make a secondary small steering correction towards the opposite direction, just to bring the vehicle back to the direction I was expecting it to be heading in the first place. But even this secondary adjustment will also suffer from the same "stickiness", so the problem repeats.

Steering became "sticky" at highway driving speeds. This caused the driver to be unable to make small adjustments to steering at highway driving speeds. Clicking sound could be heard when making steering adjustments while driving. This was caused by a manufacturing defect in the steering rack of the vehicle. The car is a 2016, but has only 32,727 mile on it and was purchased new. Because of the sudden stick and release of the steering, it creates a crash hazard and put my family and grandchildren in danger. This is a known problem on this model (we now know) and has been recalled on newer model Honda vehicles. We paid Honda of Ft. Worth $5,000.00 to replace the steering rack. We have retained the defective rack, which is available for inspection as needed. We contacted Honda of America for help with this since it is a known safety issue, but they were unwilling to help at all. No warning lights messages etc were given on the vehicle dash panel.

Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was 63,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 248,000.

My steering wheel becomes "sticky" when I am accelerating 40mph and up. It is hard to make minor corrections without potentially over correcting due to the stickiness.

The white orchid pearl paint on my 2016 civic is peeling. the car has 150000 miles on it. I've seen this is a known defect with this type of paint. I'm reporting this concern for my vehicles as the repair is costly and if it isn't repaired I will get structural rust.

My wheel is not stable when I drive, it sticks, but at the same time car attempt to go to one side and, when I try to re-take my lane, the wheel is not smooth to the point that requires extra force to come back, and I feel I am going to invade the other line, this gets worse in long drives and warmer weather. This feels at one point dangerous and not safe to drive, because I get tired trying to keep the car straight.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, a bobcat crossed the road, and the bobcat was struck by the vehicle. The contact stated that there was extensive front-end damage and undercarriage damage to the vehicle. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. The contact was unsure whether there was a warning light illuminated. The contact was not injured. The vehicle was driven to a gas station, inspected, and then driven back to the residence. However, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a collision center for repair. The contact received a call from the collision center and was informed that all the air bags in the vehicle had been removed and that the wires were cut and twisted together, which led the sensors to believe the air bags were still connected. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

When driving my car the steering wheel was sticking really bad I had to use both hands just to keep it in control. I’m only on disability so when the McConnell Honda car here in Montgomery Al said it wasn’t the year that was recalled for this problem and it would cost me over 4600.00 I was floored. 2016 was recalled not 2017 . This is a safety problem and I’m asking you to help me get it fixed please.Sincerely Connie Mitchell
