I have had multiple problems with the vehicles air conditioning system leaking and adding harmful HFC chemicals to the atmosphere and making driving uncomfortable on warm days. There are known issues with Honda years 2016-2018 air conditioning systems and they should be fixing these problems under warranty or recalls. My first issue of the A/C blowing warm air was 8/10/2021 and cars mileage was 49,760 miles. I brought it into a Honda dealer and they stated they found high side and low side O rings leaking . They replaced them, recharged system and charged me $425.00. The next issue with blowing warm air was May 2023 and 56,311 miles. I brought the vehicle to an independent repair garage . They found a leak in the evaporator and a defective expansion valve. They replaced the evaporator core and expansion valve. This cost me another $2008.43. These year 2016-2018, Honda's have many issues with the air conditioning system and all major components compressor, condenser, evaporator and the expensive refrigerant should be covered under warranty for these system leaks in multiple components. I understand Honda has a 10 year warranty extension on the A/C condenser. Honda needs to step up and take responsibility and fix all of the issues with the air conditioning systems and quit adding all these refrigerants to the atmosphere .

So i been experiencing my steering issues since the date i purchased my vehicle. I have brought my car in multiple times and the dealer has told me there is no issue with it. But for the last time i went to go get my oil change done and i told the service advisor again about the issue and they had me drive with someone in the car and once that person drove with me he noticed the issue right away. The issue was a bad steering rack and i already put 12000 miles on the car and it’s been like this since 0 miles and it was very dangerous to drive. Well driving my steering would not go around loops or turns very well it will get stuck which almost got me in accidents multiple times. And now i am without a car for 4 months waiting for a steering rack which is really ridiculous. This is a safety issue which could have led to serious injury or death. It is ridiculous because i took my car multiple times and they did nothing until i told multiple times there is an issue with my car. My safety and other family members that drove my car could of be really in danger because of this.

Last July I had to have my AC condenser and compressor replaced due to one side of the air conditioner working. Bad part was i had to pay to have a recall fixed after the fact and now im trying to get American Honda to reimburse me my money. After 1 year the problem came back and now they are saying it's my evaporate coil. Honda is not taking this seriously and expecting people to pay several thousands of dollars to fix an issue that is their problem.

The transmission went out and requires full replacement after being inspected by my local Honda dealership. It is available for further inspection upon request. My car stopped accelerating while on the interstate and required a tow on the shoulder of a 65-MPH highway. The vehicle and component issues were confirmed by my local Honda dealership. No. There were two warning messages that populated immediately as the car died. By that time it was to late and the vehicle was inoperable. No other warning messages or lamps prior to the incident. My VIN is associated with a previous safety recall (15V-574) that was issued for the same year, make, and model of vehicle. My VIN is identical to the range provided down to the production number. I believe that it is not a coincidence that it was manufactured in the same place and time down to the week of vehicles identified in that recall down to the production number, that is only barely out of range.

Steering starts to get sticky over approximately 45 mph. Hard to stay straight and is difficult to correct without over correcting.

Sticky steering at 60+ mph, more frequent after car has been running for 25 minutes. If driver isn’t expecting sticky steering, over correction of problem could cause an accident, especially at high speeds. Complaints have been filed for 2020+ model years, statements of issue are the same as I am experiencing. My car has 53k miles.

The steering in my car is sticking/tightening during any speed over 45 miles an hour. At low speeds around 30 miles an hour there are not issues. It feels as though something is pulling on the steering wheel. It seems to only be noticable during warmer time frames. I had my car inspected at a Honda dealership and they did an alignment and assured me that they did not find any issues. I've brought it up on a few occasions and nothing has been done for it. I haven't seen any indication of an error or warning light.

Steering wheel is sticking/notching while driving. Occurs the most when the outside temperature is hot ~80 degrees or more. Most noticeable at highway speeds. Took vehicle to the dealership and they acknowledged the steering rack needed to be replaced but refused to do so until Honda issues a recall for it.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the steering wheel started jerking to the left and the right. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel to correct the movement, the steering felt loosened and non-responsive. The contact stated that the TPMS warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled off the roadway but observed no issues with the tires. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V663000 (Steering). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Steering wheel becomes stiff when driving at highway speeds, especially after the car has been operating for at least 20 minutes. The experience is similar to turning your steering wheel with the ignition off and no power assist. I thought I was going to lose control of the vehicle as I fought the steering wheel to stay centered in my lane and had to immediately pull over to the shoulder on the highway. First time it happened was September of 2020. When it continued, I no longer drove on the highway. I also experienced the issue when driving through a roundabout at 5 mph. It felt like the steering wheel locked up and I nearly crashed into the median before regaining control. Almost three years later, it continues to happen at highway speeds so I took it to the dealership for diagnosis because I only have 24,000 miles on the vehicle and cannot take it on road trips. Dealer confirmed the electronic power steering rack needs to be replaced at a cost of $4,000.00. This is a 2016 Honda Civic purchased new with only 24,000 miles to date and is undriveable at highway speeds due to safety issues and the dealer actually diagnosed a defective electronic power steering rack. Service tech said "too bad you don't own the 2017 Civic because a recall was issued for the power steering and you'd be covered 100%." This is an extremely expensive repair for a known defect. Please issue a recall for the 2016 Honda Civic electronic power steering system. Customers should not have to pay for the repair out of pocket for a defective part.

There are four lights with a warning that shows up and stay on Check Brake, Power Steering, ABS and VBS Systems. These four lights occurs immediately or even occasionally delayed but they appear everytime my vehicle is running. It is the VSA System per service repair shop. This is a known problem for the Honda Civic 2013 and also Honda Accord. My concern is when these lights are present there is a safety hazard issue. A recall should HAPPEN. My thorough research shows that it should’ve been a recall in the USA for vehicles in 2012-2013 regarding an expansion of VSA Non-compliance Recall: 2012-2013 Honda Fit done free of charge. This article was July 23, 2013 and it was a little over 48,000 vehicles. They all qualified for a repair if indicated. The repairs happened in Thailand but not USA. The repairs are very, very costly. I’m the only owner of my vehicle and purchased new.
