ENGINE
Wastegate actuator is no longer working and turbo on vehicle is no longer working as needed. My car currently has every warning light on the dashboard and fails to provide all advanced driver assistance systems that come with my vehicle making it unsafe. The problem has been addressed by Honda dealership service themselves as my code came back that it is a turbocharger wastegate sensor issue. Car has not been inspected by a manufacturer, police, insurance. All warning lights went off on car over two years ago from 2026.

POWER TRAIN
My Honda is shifting harsh going into 5th gear and sometimes reverse is not available. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they are telling me I need a new transmission to the tune of $9,600. It only has 64,000 miles and the warranty recently expired. I took the car to another mechanic and he told me the same thing. There is no way that the transmission should go out at such low miles. Honda needs to step up and take care of this problem. There are many complaints about this issue but nothing is being done. I have the 7 year/100,00 mile warrany but the car is a 2018. This was the first year of the 10-speed transmission and many people are having problems. This needs to be addressed.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My stereo is making an awful static noise even when the audio is turned off. It seems to be a pretty common problem for Honda around 2016. It is very dangerous because while driving in rush hour the other day and it was raining I couldn't hear anything but very loud static. I probably would not have been able even to hear a horn. Please get Honda to fix this obvious manufacturer defect so they will recall these vehicles and fix this potential life threatening issue. Thank you.

POWER TRAIN, ENGINE
On February 26, 2025 I was driving my 2018 Honda Accord Sport (118,000 miles) with a 1.5t engine on a 55mph 2 lane roadway at approximately 55mph with 4-5 cars behind me when the engine suddenly went into "limp" mode and quickly decelerated to approximately 25 mph. I could see the cars behind me suddenly brake to avoid hitting me. I pull off on the shoulder, turned my car off and restarted. The car then drove normally to home. I took the car to the Honda dealer who diagnosed a blown head gasket. The sudden deceleration was caused by a misfire due to coolant entering the combustion chamber during the combustion cycle. The sudden deceleration almost caused an accident. When this happens the Accord does not warn the drivers behind with brake lights or flashers. I had the head gasket replaced at a cost of $4000+ The dealer's mechanic believes the cause is improper head bolt torque specs at the factory. Honda is aware of the a head gasket problem with the 2018-2020 Accord 1.5t engine, see Honda's NHTSA filings attached offering visa cards to mechanics who report head gasket failures, yet refuses to recall the engine or pay for replacing the head gasket unless under warranty. This is my 4th Accord (1985, 1986, 2007, 2018). I have never had any engine problems with my other three Accords. Honda needs to recall this engine and correct the head gasket problem so as to avoid unannounced, uncontrolled, and unintended deceleration at highway speeds due to going into limp mode (70-75 mph on interstates down to 25 mph) that can cause following cars to crash into the Accord. I purchased the car with 22,000 miles on the odometer and performed regular maintenance since I purchased it. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
There are two locations in the town I live where I am driving under a bridge, and there is a dark shadow on the road from the bridge. My car’s accident mitigation braking system turns on at these locations and suddenly brakes the vehicle. This is not safe as people are traveling speed limit around me and I can cause an accident this way. About a month or two ago, the car behind me almost hit me at one of these locations when my vehicle’s automatic braking system turned on. It was made to prevent accident and brake if there is a vehicle, but because it is braking due to a dark shadow coming, it is not working properly and needs to be looked into. I called Honda and they want me to pay hundreds of dollars at my local Honda dealership for a diagnosis, I do not feel like I should be responsible for that fee as this is a safety feature that is not working as it should and instead making it less safe for me and drivers around me.

I unlocked my car using the buttons on my key. I put my my purse along with my phone and my key in the car and I close the door and went to the trash to throw away an empty cup. When I got back to my car 2 minutes later the car relocked itself with my purse my phone and the keys in the car.

Loud static noise coming from speakers even when audio is turned off. Consistent with bluetooth radio or radio off it is terribly loud and dangerous to be driving with. Think its a head unit issue please need a factory recall

It appears to be either the fuel pump or fuel injectors, at certain times of acceleration the car stops accelerating, the engine light blinks, I have to shut the car off and restart it. It seems like if I slow my car down then try to accelerate, like going through a roundabout or sitting in stop and go traffic really seems to set the problem off. I took it to a Honda dealership a couple years ago and they informed me it was fuel injectors but they were not in stock, they assured me the car was fine to drive, I called a couple times to ask if they had gotten the part, they sternly told me they would call me, anyways they never called me and it still happens, there is a recall out for other 2018 Honda Accords that seem to have a similar problem. All my lights are constantly on due to this problem, none of the features on my car work. Sometimes if I reset my battery the lights are fine for a while but the problem still persists. If I "Rev" my car up and gas it pretty hard when I immediately start driving it seems to help.

The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Accord failed even though the vehicle had previously been repaired under a recall for the same issue. While driving, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the check engine light and other system warnings. The vehicle began running rough and lost power, creating a dangerous driving condition, especially in traffic. This is the second occurrence of fuel system failure despite the recall repair being completed. The recurrence of this issue raises serious safety concerns, as sudden power loss or engine malfunction while driving increases the risk of an accident. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to the risk of stalling or loss of power. The problem appears to be related to the high-pressure fuel pump system that was previously addressed under recall.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving the automatic brake system randomly starts flashing brake across the instrument panel and begins to brake the car. This does this while there are no other vehicles or any type of obstacles near the vehicle. It also, does it at random caution lights for the fire department on a 4 lane divided highway. There is no way to stop it from doing so. This happens frequently and leaves the driver with no control over the braking system.

When driving at a normal speed, like 55mph, I’ll still be pushing on the gas pedal and it will drop down to 15mph on its own, then stall. It’s happened several times. I was sitting at a traffic light, went to turn left, pushed on the gas pedal, started to go, then just died. Someone told me they had a car like mine, and it does the same thing, another friend said his 2012 four door accord just had it happen to his when he was turning left, he pushed on the gas and it started to go, then died, he was hit and it totaled his car. He said it would happen to him all the time, but couldn’t afford a new car. Someone told him that it’s the eco system, that it happens all the time with the Honda accords. If this is true, Honda needs to recall them, there’s a lot of them still on the roads.

I was driving on the interstate and suddenly I could no longer accelerate, my engine light started blinking and I had to pull over to a gas station as my car would not go above 25-30mph. I turned it off and back on and it work so I took it home. I took it to Honda’s the next day and after diagnosis they said that my head gasket was damaged causing coolant leaking into my engine cylinder and warping of the engine. They recommended an engine replacement. I never had any warning indications on my dashboard until then. I filed a case with American Honda to assist with repairs and it has been over two weeks without resolution. I no longer felt safe continuing to drive my car and I traded my car in for safety.

SERVICE BRAKES
During transit, the dash displayed several errors and then finally stated that there was a "Brake System problem, Brake performance my be reduced. See your dealer." The car lost power and I had to find a parking lot to exit the street to. After turning the car off and back on the car drove normal but with the Break System error still on the dash console. After parking the car for a while at home, I restarted the car and the error was no longer displayed and everything seemed normal again.

car flashed engine temperature near limit, avoid heavy acceleration and high speed, see dealership warning on dash. sounds like water moving thru the dash board when driving or turning or right when starting car. took car in to dealership right away and they confirmed it is a head gasket issue and that they have at least 20 other cars there due to the same issue. my car has now been in the dealership for over a month and a half now and there is not a clear when it will be repaired due to how many other cars they have there with the same issue. i currently have a rental due to having the extended warranty. i want them to buy the car back so i can get another one with out issues. i have two teenagers that are also learning how to drive. all of the maintaince has been done at the honda dealership

I purchased this car earlier in the year with very low mileage. Car belonged to one owner and well taken care of. Driving home from work 2 hr drive several days felt something was off shimmy noise. Got home noticed rims & tires were damaged. Purchased new tires & rims 8/18/25 $1387.43 from Tire Rack online. car bought several months earlier with low mileage. Car stayed in driveway until delivery of tires On 8/21 took to Mr. Tire in Hammonton NJ to mount rims tires. he called that the driveshaft and parts fell apart in his hands. A several hundred dollar job turned into three days costing $1409.64. Several weeks later I received the Honda recall for the exact parts I had repaired. I sent the invoice from Mr. Tire, along with the Tire Rack invoice & told to get the car inspected by a Honda dealer. 11/1 Boardwalk Honda inspected and was approved by Honda for reimbursement. I emailed to ask how much was being reimbursed. No response. I called in January and was told $670 was approved. wheel hub, axle assembly and ab sensor. All part of drive shaft failure from my research. also tires and rims get damaged as well. I asked for something in writing. Was told they do not do that. I called on 2/12/26 and several weeks ago and both times told me it would be sent to a care specialist for expediting since it has been months since approval. Well, never a response from anyone. It is now 5 months on 3/1 that repairs were approved and still no check. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They have a duty to make repairs at no cost or to reimburse if repairs were made and paid for the by the owner. I’d really like to get all of what I am out of pocket. I mean the entire Mr. Tire invoice should be reimbursed. Had I been driving when the parts fell apart I would be dead as I drive the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway 2 hours each way.

While driving approximately 60mph on highway this morning. There was no potholes, debris, or collision. Driver curtain airbag and seat airbag deployed. The front steering wheel did not. There were no dash lights on or indications that something was wrong.
