The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shut off unexpectedly with several warning lights displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with a defective fuel pump. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure, but offered no assistance. The contact was given a case number. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); which the contact associated with the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.

The vehicle suddenly braked on its own without any obstruction, causing a violent stop and injury. I took it to the nearest dealership to check for a recall. They said there wasn't a recall for this VIN, although online searches show this as a known defect for 2018-2020 Honda Accord Collision Mitigation System.

- #11726531March 23, 2026TIRES:TREAD/BELT
Hankook Kinergy GT - 225/50R17 94V Original Equipment (OE) on 2024 Honda Accord EX/L During regular and routine service by the dealer, tires were rotated every six months. Abnormal wear was noted at 5,800 miles with original 10/32" tread depth down to 7/32" on two tires. At 17,100 miles (18 months), abnormal inside edge wear was noted by the dealer and an alignment performed. A "Caution" was noted on the Multi-Point Inspection for both rear tires at this time. We started noticing a vibration and sound seemingly coming from the right rear tire associated with tire rotational speed while on a long road trip. A Honda dealer (Fargo, ND) did a cursory inspection and declared the tires in need of replacement due to tire wear. Upon inspection at 23,976 miles (25 months), our home dealer identified tire separation on the right rear noted cords were starting to show. The service document states: "The rear tires inside treads are starting to show cords and separate. I found that the right rear tire's inside tread was worn down to the cords in spots and that the tire is starting to separate. The front and left rear tires are not as bad, but it is close to being in the same condition that the right rear tire is in. I recommend that the customer get a set of 4 new tires and after installing the tires, performing an alignment." Note: This car has never been driven on particularly rough or potholed roads.

Major head gasket failure with no warning while pulling out onto a busy road. There is a major design flaw with the head gasket, no recalls or preventative notices from Honda whatsoever! My wife was put into a dangerous situation once the car went to limp mode with no warning while getting onto a busy road. Multiple lights on the dash lit up when the car entered limp mode. The car was immediately towed to a Honda dealership and was diagnosed with a blown head gasket. Service manager stated this is a VERY common occurrence and is indeed a design flaw. Car was fixed with no help from Honda for their faulty design $5100...

He diagnosed the issue as a speed sensor from sitting in my passenger seat never even took on highway to see what the problem really was. My car has been unsafe for the road since I got it back. Brand new tires are now destroyed my car has a horrible death wobble. Did not do this prior to bringing it there INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When driving at highway speeds for periods of time generally exceeding one hour, it seems to become more difficult to turn the steering wheel. Also, when I am reversing at a very low speed to park or exit a parking space, I can hear a creaking noise coming from the steering wheel. A tapping is also felt through the steering wheel. The steering rack was replaced under warranty at ~8,000 miles but the issue returned shortly after.

The AC system on my 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T stopped blowing cold air due to refrigerant leaks in both the AC condenser and AC evaporator. The condenser is covered under Honda's warranty extension (Service Bulletin 21-018) which acknowledges a manufacturing defect where R-1234yf refrigerant corrodes the condenser tube walls. The dealer confirmed the evaporator is also leaking from the same corrosion defect. The dealer states both must be repaired together because the system cannot hold refrigerant with a leaking evaporator. Honda corporate is refusing to cover the evaporator repair despite it being caused by the same known manufacturing defect. This is a systemic issue affecting 2018-2020 Accords and other Honda models using the same AC components and R-1234yf refrigerant.

ssue: Water intrusion into tail light assembly causing electrical and safety system malfunctions Status: Repaired at owner expense (~$800) Concern: Safety‑related defect and potential pattern across vehicles Description of the Issue: My 2021 Honda Accord experienced a failure where water entered the tail light assembly and caused electrical shorts. This resulted in multiple safety‑critical system warnings, including brake system alerts, ABS/VSA warnings, and Honda Sensing failures. The vehicle also lost acceleration and entered a reduced‑power “limp mode,” creating a hazardous driving situation. The dealership diagnosed the issue as water intrusion into the tail light assembly. The entire assembly had to be replaced at a cost of over $800. After replacement, all warnings and drivability issues resolved immediately.

The drivers side door on my 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L sounds hollow when closing the door, the other three doors do not sound that way. I took it to the Honda dealership and compared it to another Honda Hybrid 2024 model and the door also sounded this way, when closing. Makes the car feel and sound cheaply made. This seems like a defect that Honda should repair. Apparently they left out some insulation on the inside of these doors.

Head gasket had to be changed out. I have seen multiple cars having the same issue with this model. The vehicle sputtered and would not let me drive above 40mph. It was a safety issue when I first had it and it occurred in the freeway.

While driving at highway speed, the engine suddenly stalled without warning, resulting in a complete loss of power. This created a dangerous situation as I was unable to maintain speed or safely maneuver with surrounding traffic. At the time of the incident, all electrical warning lights illuminated on the dashboard simultaneously. Prior to this event, there were no clear warnings indicating imminent failure. The vehicle was later diagnosed with a failed head gasket and turbocharger issues. The sudden engine stall while in motion presents a serious safety risk, particularly at highway speeds, as it increases the likelihood of a crash due to loss of propulsion and reduced driver control. This issue appears to have occurred unexpectedly and without adequate warning

Transmission started bucking at 50k miles, the problem has gotten substantially worse at 60k miles. Rough downshifting and upshifting in low gears. Will slam into gears 2-3 often and cause driver and passengers to lurch forward. Will cause very rough acceleration at times and causes a danger in traffic given the speed becomes unpredictable. Transmission does not know what gear to be in even after ATF type 2.0 fluid change following dealer procedure. This is putting me and other drivers at risk because I cannot control my speed when transmission is slamming in between gears. No warning lamps, undetected by cars TCU.

Going home from work, At highway traffic light intersection and car began to shake, sputter.. Engine and Oil light briefly came on before car stalled and shut off. In panic put gear into park, turned ignition button, car started and was able to put into drive and proceed. Not long after, on a main road, waiting for turn light, stalled, lost power again. Did not have any acceleration or power. Car was again shaking, luckily pulled into parking lot, put in park, shut off car and back on. When trying to accel, same thing happened as I was half way across 2 lanes, had zero accelerate power, car was shaking/sputtering, but luckily made it across. Car sat off for approximately 10 minutes. Was able to turn on and accelerate to get home without problem. This is a very scary situation to be in, especially in very heavy city traffic conditions. I have never been notified of any sort of recall. A case # has been made with Honda USA. They also let me know that although the year and model of my car WAS a part of a Fuel Pump Recall, and even though I experienced the same issues that other owners were having in which their vehicles were recalled, that my VIN # was not part of that particular batch recall. Honda dealership shop has diagnosed as a Fuel Pump. (can provide shop estimate)
