I am reporting multiple recurring safety concerns involving my 2025 Honda Accord, including apparent electronic parking brake malfunctions, Auto Brake Hold failures, electrical system warnings, violent engine restarts, and a possible battery or charging-system defect. While stopped in traffic, particularly when the Auto Idle Stop system shuts off and restarts the engine, my vehicle sometimes experiences an unusually violent shaking or jerking motion. The restart can feel like a sudden, forceful kick. During these episodes, the electronic parking brake appears to engage unexpectedly without my manually activating it. Multiple dashboard warning lights and messages intermittently illuminate, including Brake System Problem, Brake Hold warnings, and other braking-related alerts. I have also experienced braking-related warnings or abnormal operation when traveling on inclines. The warning indicators sometimes disappear afterward, but the problems recur. I am concerned that these malfunctions could interfere with normal braking, acceleration, or vehicle control, particularly in traffic or on hills, creating a collision risk. Additionally, an AAA roadside assistance technician advised me that my vehicle’s battery appeared to be leaking fluid and needed replacement. A subsequent battery check at an auto parts store did not identify the same concern. I have repeatedly noticed a strong rotten-egg, sulfur, or sewage-like odor near the front of the vehicle and entering the passenger compartment through the air-conditioning vents. Another occupant independently noticed the foul odor. I am concerned about possible battery overheating, charging-system malfunction, electrical faults, and potentially hazardous fumes entering the cabin. The exact cause of these recurring problems has not been determined. I am requesting that these braking, electrical, engine restart, and ventilation-related safety concerns be investigated. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

Noticed that the engine temperature was slightly higher normal (went to 5 bars when always at 4) I checked and the fan was running properly and had coolant in the overflow tank. I took it to the Honda dealer, and they found that the head gasket failed and the fluid inside the radiator leaked into the cylinders. My 2018 Honda has the 2.0T engine with 126,875 miles. Honda acknowledges this design flaw on their 1.5T and 2.0 non-turbo engines but wouldn't cover my 2.0T. This 2.0T from my research is about 80-100 units of the 1,115,384 accords sold in the US 2018-2022 10th gen. The 2.0T has the same design flaw as the other two engines but Honda wont cover them. Moreover, I asked for 50% good will coverage from Honda and was flat out told no after waiting for 4 weeks to get this decision on a known mechanical engine flaw that could be a safety issue, Eg. fire or loss of power on a highway that can get someone hurt or killed.

My 2013 Honda Accord is currently at an authorized Honda dealership in Mississippi for a safety recall involving the driveshafts (axles). I purchased this vehicle in Minnesota and drove it there for approximately five years before moving to Mississippi. Given Honda’s published information identifying road salt and de-icing chemicals as contributing factors in driveshaft corrosion associated with this recall, I believe my vehicle’s history of use in Minnesota is relevant to the corrosion now affecting the repair. The dealership has informed me that it cannot remove the affected driveshafts because corrosion is preventing their removal. I was told that additional undercarriage components may need to be cut out and replaced to complete the recall repair. Honda has denied my request for additional financial assistance. This leaves me facing potentially significant out-of-pocket expenses to address corrosion that is preventing the completion of a safety recall. I am concerned that the safety recall remains unresolved and that I may be unable to obtain the necessary repair because of the additional costs. Honda’s recall information identifies the risk that a corroded driveshaft could break, potentially causing a loss of motive power or allowing the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not set. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the circumstances, including the vehicle’s history in a state where road salt is used, the dealership’s inability to complete the recall repair because of corrosion, and Honda’s denial of additional assistance. I would appreciate clarification regarding whether further action is warranted to ensure that the recall repair can be completed safely and that the manufacturer’s approved repair procedure is being followed. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Honda dealership. I can provide the dealership’s findings and Honda’s response upon request.

The CVT automatic transmission is leaking fluid from the transmission input shaft seal. The leak was diagnosed by Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg, Virginia in October 2026 at approximately 99,400 miles. The dealer recommended replacing the transmission input shaft seal, a repair that requires removing the transmission, estimated at $2,990.90 plus tax. American Honda reviewed the case (Case #[XXX]) and declined goodwill assistance on [XXX]. The repair has not yet been performed. Safety concern: continued loss of transmission fluid can cause transmission failure and a loss of motive power while driving. No crash, fire, or injuries occurred. The problem is ongoing. SUPPLEMENTAL DATA FOR ACTIVE ODI CASE #XXX. P1: SYSTEMIC SAFETY RECALL FALSIFICATION (NHTSA 23V-858) This submission supplements active ODI Case #XXX against Honda of Manhasset (Facility #XXX). On XXX, the facility certified Fuel Pump Safety Recall 23V-858 as fully completed to claim warranty credits. Vehicle dashcam recordings irrefutably prove the technician never opened the hood, never disconnected the 12V battery (mandatory safety step to release fuel pressure), and never stood in front of the car. When confronted on XXX with video evidence, advisor [XXX] manually altered the invoice to "Not Performed", falsely blaming a system error/lack of stock, despite parts records proving the recall kit arrived XXX. System admin then issued a corrective invoice "Reprint #1" stating "RECALL NOT PERFORM. PART NOT IN STOCK", dynamic-reopening the VIN nationally to evade corporate detection. This constitutes severe corporate fraud. P2: COMPRESSED ADAS SOFTWARE TOLERANCES AND PROCEDURAL OMISSION The secondary fraud involves an unneeded quote of $1,237.19 and illegal $233.55 diagnostic fee under false pretense of a "bent radar bracket". Independent engineering audit disproved hardware failure, establishing true 0.00° baseline. Technical root cause of DTC P2583-76 was the recall update, migrating the car from the factory 2018 software layout—which possessed a permissive vertical threshold up to ±3.0°—directly to hyper-strict Program ID: 36802-TVA-A190, restricting the window to an unyielding 0.0°±0.1°. Due to suspension settling over 259,258 km, the radar had a natural deviation of -2.25°, which A190 flagged, disabling ACC. On XXX, the Shop Foreman confessed technicians willfully skip physical radar re-centering protocols because they "take too much time". After manual adjustment back to 0.00°, a 19km road test dynamically cleared DTC [XXX] per Honda Bulletin 21-068. Subpoena dealer records for ID A190. - #11772774October 21, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
In XXX, the driver assistance and safety systems on my 2025 Honda Accord SE began failing repeatedly. While driving, warning messages would appear for the collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams, and these systems would become unavailable. This happened multiple times over XXX and XXX . I took the vehicle to Hugh White Honda in [XXX], four to five times for this problem. The dealer replaced the forward-facing camera twice under warranty, but the warnings and system failures continued after each repair. The dealer was never able to identify or fix the underlying cause. I filed a complaint with American Honda on XXX (case XXX). Because the safety systems on a nearly new vehicle could not be repaired, I traded the vehicle in on XXX, with approximately 17,000 miles. No crash or injuries occurred, but the vehicle repeatedly lost the use of its collision avoidance and lane keeping safety systems in normal driving, and the manufacturer could not repair the defect. I was at the grocery store, XXX about 10:00pm, got a few things of food, I got in the care and started to drive home, I was at a stop sign in the parking lot, took off from SS, going about 5mph, the passenger wheel turned sideways, the bottom of the wheel was facing horizontal because the upside-down lower ball joint let go, just separated with no advanced notice or sound, it just happened, 2006 Honda Accord EX, 2.4L. This is an engineering defect(abortion) which should have been corrected many, many years ago. This is Honda Motor Company's fault and the need to be liable, because they are civilly, this has been going on so long without consequences, it should be criminal. This has happened over the years on Accords 2003-2007 and other models also, I have always owned civics and never experienced this. When this happened, the FRAME slammed on the ground, it was very Traumatizing, to put it mildly. This is one of the most Traumatizing things I have experienced in my life, this frame slamming on the ground, it's a very horrible feeling. This is unacceptable from a car Manufacturer in the [XXX], this should never happen, it's very traumatizing, so BAD. I am filing a complaint regarding a 2002 Honda Accord 2.0T purchased as a certified used vehicle in April 2026. The infotainment system is flawed and frequently malfunctions. I experience frequent, quick, sporadic display changes I am not commanding. The system will even turn itself back on after being turned off. These episodes continue for days and prove to be very distracting while operating the vehicle. I have contacted two different dealers in my area, both responded this is a "known issue" and Honda is no longer accepting warranty claims. I have contacted Honda corporate, received a response from an engineering contact which confirmed Honda is aware of the issues and does not have a solution. The vehicle is four years old this month, October 2026. It does not appear Honda is either actively pursuing a solution or willing to provide any type of financial compensation. Additionally, this vehicle is still covered by the certified warranty and extended warranty which cover electronics. Neither warranty is being honored for this issue. Judging from various online message board and social media accounts, this has been a widespread problem for owners of this and other Honda models manufactured during the same time. I determine this issue not only to be a safety hazard, but a breach of contract in reference to not honoring its two warranties. I have short video files of at least three instances I am able to share. Your site does not accept video files.

On XXX my 2009 Honda Accord was in a multi-vehicle crash on [XXX]. No airbags deployed. There was substantial front-end and side/rear damage. The exact impact order and frontal contact have not been confirmed for this complaint; technical reconstruction is requested. APD records the driver's airbag as non-deployed and safety equipment as UNKNOWN. [XXX]'s same-day record says "No airbags" and records restraint use, reported loss of consciousness, and head/back injuries requiring hospital care. Its rear-end descriptions conflict. I am not aware of fire. Crash mileage, exact speed and pre-crash SRS warning status are UNKNOWN. A vehicle-history report repeats an XXX "Air Bag Serviced" entry at 123,157 miles in [XXX]. The work and parts are unverified. It also lists a XXX minor/right-front collision; any related airbag deployment or SRS repair is UNKNOWN. NHTSA VIN lookup checked XXX showed one open recall, [XXX] (accessory nose mask/hood latch), and no open airbag recall displayed. This does not establish completed SRS recall/repair history. Honda was notified XXX; its case number is UNKNOWN. The later cabin photo shows loose material and green covering around the wheel rim; their origin, timing and significance are unconfirmed. No crash intrusion or SRS modification is asserted. A-Tow took the vehicle; present location/availability are UNKNOWN. Written disposition/preservation requests were sent XXX. Please evaluate non-deployment, prior SRS work, available event data and any contributing defect. Redacted records are attached. Incorrect tire inflation data on vehicle information label on door sill for my particular vehicle model (Accord Hybrid Sport. Emphasis on Sport which low profile tires). From reading the Owner's Manual, I was made aware that there maybe some clarification need for the tire pressure value for my vehicle model. It was confirmed, via telephone, with Honda HQ that indeed the door sill label is incorrect. As the result, Honda HQ denied my request to have the miss-labeled item replaced. Their recommendation is to approach the dealership that sold me the vehicle first. Which dealership, also, refused to honor. I have the following concerns. (1) I look at it as a violation of the warranty agreements. The label on my vehicle is clearly defective and needs a corrective action. (2) it is a safety issue! A few years back, Firestone tires were blowing out on Ford Explorers and initially Firestone blamed it on operator errors which was proven to be false. Firestone was talking couple, maybe 3, pounds of pressure differentiations. (3) It is also safety concern in the long run. If my vehicle is being resold, without an Owner's Manual, how would the new owner knows what the correct tire pressure would be? (4) As part of that model's production, the door sill label should be readily available. All Honda/Dealership have to do is order an replacement. Why is it sooo difficult to obtain a correct replacement??? Is it going to trigger a recall because is a factory oversight???

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while stopping at a red light, depressing the service brake pedal caused unintended acceleration instead of stopping the vehicle. Increased pressure on the brake pedal resulted in increased acceleration until the vehicle collided with the rear of a pickup truck. The front end of the vehicle sustained damage, but the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The contact and the contact's spouse received medical treatment for minor bruises sustained during the crash. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The vehicle infotainment system has known issues to Honda and is glitchy to the point that it’s distracting to drive the vehicle. The system locks frequently, glitches between applications, engages Car Play applications like Apple’s Siri, and constantly takes my attention away from the road to deal with these issues. This constant distraction puts myself, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. This problem first started to appear ~ 2 years ago and has gotten significantly worse over time. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealership and no resolution has been offered.
