At approx 10pm, vehicle was moving at a steady speed of 70mph on urban highway on New Year's Eve. Without any indication or warning, the car stalled/had loss of power for about 1-2 seconds and recovered and then about 1-2 minutes later stalled again and recovered. No dashboard lights ever came on. I thought maybe the clutch was failing again. I immediately got off the freeway to find a safe place to call for tow. As I drove to parking lot, my motor made a loud, uncoordinated, rattling noise which is towards the left side and near the engine cover. I thought it might be the serpentine tensioner because only the belt only had been replaced in May 2024. The rattle gets louder with high RPMs. After reviewing service records, oil change on 04/18/24 is the first mention of valve cover leak, and oil change 12/23/24 indicates possible rear main seal leak, residue around rear main cover which made me suspect gasket failure. The dealership denied the fault lies with tensioner or clutch and said the knocking sound is from the lower portion of the motor - possibly a faulty knock sensor - and the engine would not be disassembled to provide a more specific diagnosis. The dealership said a replacement engine is needed. No diagnostic codes or other specifics were provided. Dealership replaced fuel pump module per recall protocol. My and my grandchild's safety were jeopardized because my malfunctioning vehicle could have created a deadly traffic hazard among NYE celebrants who may have been driving distracted or with impaired cognitive function. In the past when my vehicle had stalled, it would lose power and I would have to coast off the freeway or to the side of the road. In those instances, my car created a traffic hazard & congestion for the vehicles behind me and toward the side that I was trying to exit.

My 2016 Honda Accord with 2.4 engine failed due to rod bearing failing at 100K mileage. Knocking from engine bay is what brought my attention to it and from there i brought it into mechanic. I change oil religiously at 5K intervals. I own 4 different accords and never seen this happen before.

I was traveling down road clear day at 50 miles an hour and the car slowed down to 20 miles an hour immediately in seconds like the automatic breaks were applied car would not accelerate for 3/4 of a mile the card just kept slowing down. Dash was blinking EBS then transmission malfunction light came on. I was able to pull off road (very dangerous) road was crowded. and I had to go over 2 lanes I shut car off when i restarted I dash said warning Brake System Problem brake performance may be reduced See your dealer. At this time all systems seemed to be operating ok I was able to accelerate. I drove home shut car off started 1 hour later no warring light everything normal. I will bring to dealer this week will see what they say. This was very dangerous the car went from 50 to 20 in a matter of seconds, and I had very little control of car I am afraid to have my wife dive the car

Honda continues to refuse to make recall repairs. Currently telling me that there is a 4-5 wait for repairs because Honda refuses to supply them. Dealers are telling me that Honda will only send them 10 per week and won't send more until the defective ones are returned to Honda. According to my dealer there are 2,000 other customers in line before me for my repairs. Honda also has a defective HondaLink app that work with car to communicate needed repairs and service. Honda says my car needs a software update, dealer says there is no update, no TSB, and no recall. Why is Honda allowed to drag their feet for years with recalls? 20 dead from the Takata recall alone. Shameful lack of oversite!

Steering wheel feels like it gets stuck on dead center when driving on a perfectly straight level road over 40 mph. When trying to compensate to keep the car in the center of the lane, it feels like you need to apply extra resistance to get the steering wheel to move and then when it moves it feels like it breaks loose causing the wheel to move more than intended resulting in the car moving to far to whichever direction you were trying to move, and then having to turn the wheel in the opposite direction to compensate for the excessive move in that direction. Steering wheel seems perfectly fine until put on dead center for about 10 seconds or longer going perfectly straight. Then it tightens up again and feels the same way when trying to keep the car in the center of the lane. Extra resistance is once again needed, and produces the same result of seeming to stick, then breaking free and over steering the car.

I was on the highway with moderate traffic. My car would no longer accelerate due to a blown head gasket out of nowhere, I was on the far left lane and had to traverse over 5 lanes in moderate traffic while other drivers on the highway were going 60+ mph. This is a common issue among Honda Accords with the 1.5 engines.

My vehicle was purchased in 2021. It is a 2018 Honda Accord Touring model. The engine is a 1.5TRG. My current mileage is 88,405. About three weeks ago, my mom drove my car to the store and the dash lit up. By this I mean that the dash lights lit up for check engine light, lane mitigation, oil, etc. She was less than 5 minutes from the house and immediately drove back and parked the car. Mind you, I've driven a car with a blown head gasket. It smoked, temperature gage would show that the vehicle was hot, etc. My car never showed any signs that the vehicle was exhibiting or about to run hot or any other engine issues. At a later time, maybe a week later, I attempted to drive the car and it sputtered and barely wanted to take off. I parked it. My service appointment was 12/13/24. I paid $200 to have them diagnose and tell me the issue. I drove my vehicle to the dealership thinking that this could have been a sensor issue. Had I known that this was the problem, I would have had it towed there. The vehicle is now at my home parked. I researched this issue and from what I've seen, there are several consumers that are experiencing the issue. I own a 2014 KIA Soul that experienced a similar issue. Hyundai/KIA performed the repair FREE of charge and also provided me with a rental. I am currently still financing this Honda Accord and I think that it is completely unfair to the consumer to pay upwards of $4K for something that is clearly a manufactures issue. Aside from replacing the gasket, they also included replacing the spark plugs, timing chain, etc. This was my dream car but has since been a nightmare knowing that not only do I have to continue to pay the note but to pay $4K for repairs that aren't my fault. I maintain the oil changes for the vehicle and any other recommended services. Someone needs to hold them accountable to stand by their product.

The GPS goes unresponsive as part of the symptoms of the infotainment system acting by itself. This poses a distraction and driving risk while trying to not miss the destination. Also radio Touchscreen becomes unresponsive while radio changes from stations to bluetooth back to stations on its own.

The audio system in these car is failing for multiple owners. Complaint was filed with Honda and all they do is to turn their back on the customers and not acknowledge the issue. You have the complete engine noise amplified through the speakers of the car if you don't stop the car you can easily get your hearing impaired(My wife and I are health care professionals) The issue: Atrocious noise( intermitting ,cycling engine noise amplified through speakers even when the radio is turned off). The vehicle has been inspected by certified mechanics and audio specialists and have been unable to pin point the issue(The car amplifier is currently disconnected on our car) There no sign or message on the car that would alert you that is anything wrong. Symptoms first appear on April of 2024. We did not know where to complaint about this. We read on a forum of more complaints being filed, so we decided to file ours.

- #11633462December 31, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving on town road up a hill at about 30 mph when I got a brake system warning and the engine shut off and accelerator did not work. I was able glide to the side of the road (steering worked). I turned the car off and on and was able to continue driving to my destination but the same error message was present along with several others (eg TPMS, lane assist, collision mitigation). After being parked for 1 hour, I started car and there were no error messages and car functioned normally. Brought car to dealer (Westbrook CT Honda) and they ran diagnostic codes but found nothing other than what they described as an older voltage flux. They had never heard of a car's engine shutting off with the break system error. Told me that if it happened again to have car towed in so that there would be no code resets. I can only imagine my fear level if this had happened at 65 mph in the middle lane of a highway! I found a on-line forum where others are describing the same thing. Time for a recall? My vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858, Honda Campaign Number YGK, Service Bulletin Number 24-009. I have received multiple notifications via US mail from the American Honda Motor Co, Inc., Automobile Division notifying me of a recall of the fuel pump. The first notice was received in February 2024 with instructions to contact my local dealer as soon as possible. I first began contacting my local Honda dealers (Findlay Honda, Henderson, NV; Centennial Hills Honda; Honda West) in the Las Vegas, Nevada in March 2024. Each time, I was informed that none of the dealerships had the fuel pump and to call back in May 2024. I called in May 2024 and was instructed to call in July 2024. I called in July 2024 and was instructed to call in October 2024. I called in October 2024 and was instructed to call in November 2024. I called a week before Thanksgiving 2024 and was instructed to call in December 2024. Last week, I attempted to contact each dealership again about the fuel pump. The service departments of Findlay Honda, Henderson NV and Centennial Hills Honda would not answer the telephone. Honda West placed me on a fuel pump wait list. My vehicle has been on a recall list for almost a year with no repairs. I do not have any confidence that Honda will reimburse the cost of the repair if I utilize another mechanic.
