VISIBILITY/WIPER
While driving in the rain, my windshield wipers stopped working. No lights on, nothing showing in my GMC app. I've noticed many others with this same issue, and am aware of the recall on the 2014-2015 models. GMC should extend the recall to cover the 2016 as well since this is a known issue.

ENGINE
Catalytic converter went out at 101,650 miles and the dealer has no replacement part. This is the diesel engine, almost every other year was recalled and they extended the warranty to 100,000 miles. And they stopped making this engine. Seems like they should at the least have a replacement part for a car 5 1/2 years old. They also said the 2017 were recalled, this vehicle was built Jan 2018. The vehicle currently will only go 5 MPH so it cant be driven. There was no warning of the failure.

I was driving while it was raining. My windshield wipers were on and functioning without issue. I heard a noise and my windshield wipers had stopped moving and now they do not work. I called several places to schedule an appt for my car/wipers to be assessed and repaired. I was told by 3 different shops that a recall had been issued for the year adjacent to my car and my issue sounded like the recall issue.

POWER TRAIN, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
We have had many GM vehicles my husband worked at GM retired now. Our complaint is we have a GMC Denali 2017 only 79000 miles on it. All upto date changes regularly all. Other like Transmission oil changed all upkeep to date. Transmission needs rebuilt. We are in our 80’s And don’t beat up our cars. Replace or rebuild transmission 3500 to 4500 bucks. That is a lot of money for us. No longer covered. It shudders when you drive at any speed and feels so unsafe. Took it to GM garage and they couldn’t find anything wrong. No warning lights came on and we paid over 150 to have it checked out so with the shuddering getting worse and not feeling safe to drive we took it to a Transmission shop and he took it out and said the Shuddering was caused by something in the transmission. I have seen on google where GM is having a lot of problems in this area. We just need help with the repairs. Thank you. A retired GM worker Lordstown, Ohio [XXX]. The contact owns a 2012 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while performing a routine check on the vehicle, the contact became aware that oil level was low, and the dip stick was dry. The contact added 2 quarts of oil however, the following day the oil level was still low. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 88,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My car is a 2022. It had the fuel module and fuel pump replaced prior to the recall and prior to a fix being abailable. Once a fix was availabley car was kept for about 2 weeks to remedy both recalls. Both still come up when i search by vin. And my car is still have intermittent issues with acceleration and idling.

POWER TRAIN
The timing belt on the GMC Terrains from 2013 to 2015, mostly 2015 are breaking at a unusual amount. If you google it , there is story after story about this problem and GMC has not done anything. This appears to be a problem with the Terrain and I want them to issue a recall before mine breaks. It is expensive to fix and it can also be a huge problem if it breaks when you are driving. Something has to be done as this is not a coincidence that this is occurring to a large amount of Terrains.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, SEAT BELTS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Vehicle started stalling back in February 2023, service engine light started coming on and then we started getting a message that the SD memory card had been removed and this message has stayed on constantly along with the service engine light. I made an appointment to get the recalls fixed with the dealership that we purchased it from which is 50 miles away but was told the parts for the fuel pump and child restraints were not available at that time. They looked at the memory sensor card but could not find anything wrong and was told if the error message came back up to call them back, I know more got home and the message came back up so I called them back and they set me up with another appointment the following week. This time because the message only comes up randomly and it did not come up while I was there I was told nothing could be done but to call back when the message comes back and as soon as I got home it came up so I called them back, they made another appointment for the following week and this time the message came on when the tech drove it so they took out the sensor card and cleaned it and everything around it and said everything looks fine now but it still comes on, but was told due to them not having the parts for the fuel pump that we should take it to our closest dealership. On 6/15/2023 we took it to our local dealership and I was told they would need to order parts and the eta on it was 4 days out, they said they would call me when the parts came in, I waited until 6/22/23 and no one ever called me back so I called to check and the parts were still not in but would check on it and call me back, no one ever called and I still have not heard from anyone. The last time we took it up there the vehicle stalled, we almost got hit from behind and it kept dying and would barely start, it is now setting under my carport, we are afraid to drive it and I still have not heard from anyone.This all started in February 2023 and it is June now.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving 10-12 MPH and approaching a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond and went down to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that she continuously pumped the brake pedal until the vehicle stopped. The contact veered to the side of the road. The "Low Brake Fluid" message was displayed, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact added brake fluid to the vehicle. The contact stated that she turned off and restarted the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to their location for a diagnostic test. A tow truck driver informed the contact that the brake caliper was fractured and there was a puddle of brake fluid on the ground. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brakes hardware had failed, the brake caliper was fractured, and the brake sensor and actuator had failed. The dealer then informed the contact that the manufacturer was contacted and advised that they would only cover the brake caliper, pads, and rotors replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Was coming back from a hospital and it started to rain and had the wipers on and all of a sudden they stopped working! When I got home I tried to see if it was a fuse and it wasn’t! Called my mechanic who looked at it today and I needed a whole new wiper mtr/ w/ linkage! That was a road hazard and never should have happened on my GMC Cost me $430 to repair and I feel like GMC should reimburse me!

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that moisture was leaking into the vehicle from an unknown location. The contact stated that the leak first started on the front driver’s side of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the mechanic was unable to identify the source of the leak. While attempting to prevent mold from forming inside the vehicle, the front interior carpeting of the vehicle was detailed and vacuumed. The contact stated that recently the leak returned on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and was informed that diagnostic tests on air bag failures were not performed at their location. The contact stated that she received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V165000 (Visibility) and 22V137000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the dealer declined to service the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

A severe rain down pour started, I turned on my front windshield wipers, and they swiped about twice, than stopped completely, in a vertical position. I could not see, and had to try to get to the side of the road, to pull over to safety. This was extremely dangerous, and from what I am reading, happens frequently to GMC Terrains. Apparently, there was a recall for 2013-2015, seems the 2016 needs added!! No warning lights are on in the car. No failure report via my GMC app.

The contact stated while making a left turn the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. The contact was able to continue driving without proper braking response to her residence. The contact stated she used the parking brake to fully stop the vehicle. Screen system prompts to accept terms of service while moving. This is unsafe and the system should know it is in motion. Unsafe programming, require manufacture to only prompt when system is at reset. Require OTA reprogramming.
