Truck drove as expected with no prior warnings. We pulled over for road snacks/drinks upon starting the truck we got a whole slew of warnings and warning lights. The warnings included:. Service ESC, Service Trailer Brake System, Service Brake Assist, Steering Assist is reduced Drive with care and finally Brake System Failure 43 MPH top speed. The check engine light, Traction Control Off and BRAKE light stayed on. We slowly drove to an O'Reilly's and got the ODB Code P25A2 (1 of 2 stored) and P25A2 (2 of 2 pending). I then noticed I had an email notification from OnStar Advanced Diagnostics: This is a Diagnostic Alert for your GMC Sierra. Dear [XXX], An issue with the Antilock Braking System in your 2022 GMC Sierra has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days. The following morning the truck was was started and all seemed normal like nothing ever happened, no warning lights or warning messages Our of concern we dropped off at Garlyn Shelton Buick GMC service center to diagnose the issue. They reported finding code C05B0 for Brake Fluid Leak. Further states No external leaks found, Brake Fluid test passed 2 of 3 times, recommend needs Master Cylinder Assembly but No replacement parts available. Service trailer brakes light pops up and chimes over and over again. I've never pulled a trailer. It's distracting and will randomly go off. Seems to go off when gas is below 1/4 tank. Sometimes it goes months without happening. Sometimes it happens a few days in a row. The dealership says they can't do anything unless they see it go off.

When I'm coming to a stop and the vehicle starts downshifting, the last shift feels like the tranny is going to fall out. Forceful jerk and clunking noise. It's sporadic. One week it's almost every day, one week it seems fine. The dealership said they have heard this a lot and laughed when they told me the manufacturer has told them it's normal. It's definitely not normal.

2016 Denali 2500 Diesel - Loose steering, like many of the others complaining. I only have 13,000 miles on the truck since I don't drive it during Ohio winters (salt) and use it to tow my 6500 lb boat. Doesn't feel safe at all when towing. The dealer explained both the pitman and idler arm were worn. $1500 repair bill. Very frustrating that GM doesn't cover this potential safety related issue regarding vehicle control/stability. Several versions of Technical Service Bulletin's exist #PIT5501D as an example.

“Service- trailer brake system” light keeps coming on. It is super repetitive. It comes on about every 30 seconds. It’s a loud beep that lasts quite a few seconds. Eventually, the beeping did not stop until the truck was stopped. Truck was just bought yesterday. Happens at any speed, even when stopped.

when I bought the vehicle in October2018, I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership multiple occasions and they refuse to fix this issue. The transmission shifts from first to second gear or second to first gear is clunky, jerks forward and shifts without warning. While sitting at a stoplight, the vehicle will sometimes lurch forward several inches without warning even with your foot on the brake. Furthermore when accelerating between first and second year it's sluggish and takes several seconds to shift from first to second the engine Revs high.

Vehicle Shows on the Dash readout that the truck must keep going to clean out exhaust keep Driving, then comes to a Slowdown, and on a slight hill Stops. When you shut it off, and start it up again, it goes about a Mile, states the same thing on the dash panel, then starts to slow down, I was in the Desert of New Mexico, Had left Flagstaff, AZ. an hour before this started happening. I had no Previous warning. Took 6 hours to reach a GMC Service Center. usually takes 2 hours to reach the same town. Cortez, Colorado. They Could NOT Help Me, they had to referred me to a Service Center in town, that Put me on his machine, and Made the Vehicle Heat up, Run HOT, and Exhaust itself for two hours, this got me to my home in Monte Vista, CO. Then No further Problems until about a Month later i started getting the Same Messages, i took it to a Service Center in AR. where he Forced the Vehicle to Get Hot, exhaust itself for four and a half hours, to Clean it out, and Clear my dash Pannel.

DEF tank system failure. Vehicle is under warranty, 18 months old, (purchased 08/20) with 20,000 miles. 6 WEEKS AGO I took to dealer who informed me that there are no DEF tanks available and don't know when they will be available. This is a hazard: if I am on a trip and the system shuts off I could be stranded anywhere with the reduced speed that the DEF system creates. If this system is designed to shut off (with warning) there should be ample supplies at all GMC dealers for repair. If there aren't ample supplies the system should NOT shut the truck down. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT IS PREVENTABLE!

In short, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) reductant heater failed which requires the entire DEF tank assembly (part 85138746) to be replaced on my 2020 GMC Sierra 3500. This cause the truck to go into "limp" mode where it will not travel above 65 mph, and after another period, the speed continues to be reduced down to 25 mph. Prior to the speed being reduced, there is a warning message that appears stating "Service DEF System See Owner's Manual" and a warning light illuminates in the gauge cluster. Any severe reduction in speed that can cause the truck to go "limp" is a safety concern. In addition to being a safety concern, some quick internet research reveals that this has been a known problem with GM's DEF system since at least 2019. The electrical connections are too small for the current which supplied the DEF tank heater, causing the system to short and trigger the truck into limp mode which renders it useless. The replacement part is on national backorder, and it has been on backorder for years. My truck is completely useless until this part (or a better-engineered replacement) arrives at the dealer, and there are hundreds if not thousands of people waiting on this same, defective part to get their trucks back on the road. People are losing their livelihood and the means by which they support their families. GM has known about this defective part for years and has done nothing- neither engineered a better part nor issued a recall with some kind of workaround. They haven't even been able to stock the defective part, and this is not just a supply chain issue as new trucks are still being built. This problem was not inspected by any police or insurance agency as it did not cause an accident or injury in this case.

- #11456370March 11, 2022STEERING, SERVICE BRAKES
The contact owns a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed four years ago, the steering wheel became significantly loose, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and veered to the side of the road. The contact then continued to drive at slower speed and away from other vehicles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was repaired under Technical Service Bulletin Number: PIT 5501F; however, after the repair, the front-end of the vehicle and the steering wheel would wobble while depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel failure reoccurred several months ago while driving. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact removed the driver's side wheel cover and discovered that the brake fluid had been leaking inside the wheel well and underneath the floorboard under the steering column. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,450.
