SummaryThis Service bulletin is related to the exhaust fan that we install on the roof. After seeing an increasing trend in warranty calls regarding leaks, we launched an investigation into the source of the leaks and found the exhaust fan seal to be the culprit. The repair procedure outlined below has been successfully tested and incorporated into our current production process. There are no safety risks involved rather unwanted water penetration into the van.

This may be due to the battery energy control module (BECM) adjusting the cell balance (conditioning) of the battery module and should be corrected within 16 days. If the vehicle otherwise functions as designed with no related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) setting, this concern will be corrected automatically with no further actions required by the technician.

SummarySome 2022 Transit vehicles may exhibit a DTC U0198:00 stored in the APIM but does not exhibit any customer concerns around the vehicle location or global positioning system (GPS). If the vehicle exhibits GPS or location concerns, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. This DTC alone does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in August 2022. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU) will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and inform the customer that service appointments for customers will be scheduled once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2018-2021 F-150 3.3L, 2020-2021 Explorer 3.3L, and 2020-2021 Transit 3.5L may experience an illuminated low oil pressure and malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0521 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) after a short block or long block replacement. This may be due to a design change of the engine oil pressure (EOP) sensor, which is not backwards compatible. To correct the condition, transfer the sensor from the original engine or replace the EOP sensor with GN1Z-9D290-D.

SummarySome 2020-2021 Transit vehicles equipped with factory keyless entry remote may exhibit a broken flip-key at the base of the fob. For customers that may require a more robust key due to high key cycle activity, a mechanical key (Rotunda part numbers: pre-cut 164-R8290, uncut 164-R8289) can be programmed to the vehicle and used in conjunction with the original fob that has the broken flip-key for the remote keyless entry functions. A broken key can still be replaced with the current service part, which is a like-for-like replacement. To program the keys, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01B.

SummaryThis article supersedes TSB 22-2175 to update the Issue, Action, and Service Procedure. Some 2015-2022 Transit vehicles equipped with rear wheel drive (RWD), single rear wheel (only), and U-joints at the transmission flange and rear driveshaft may experience a boom/hum/moan noise from the rear while driving. This noise is most noticeable at highway speeds: 112-121 km/h (70-75 mph) for 4.10 axle ratio 121-128 km/h (75-80 mph) for 3.73 axle ratio 136-145 km/h (85-90 mph) for 3.31 axle ratio The noise may also be present to a lesser degree at roughly half of the noted speeds. This may be due to a 2nd order driveline frequency transmitted through the rear driveshaft, rear axle and into the body through the leaf springs. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install a driveshaft torsional damper. NOTE: The torsional damper will not resolve a vibration.

Verify if the vehicle has been modified, in particular if a bulkhead partition between the front seats and cargo area has been added to the vehicle. Fasteners or holes in the lower b-pillar are indicators that the seat belt retractor mechanism could have been compromised. If diagnostics lead to retractor replacement, inspect for drill or screw holes in the retractor housing. Damage to the seat belt retractor caused by a vehicle modifier is not warrantable.

Summary2021-2022 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1A01:93 stored in the telematics control unit (TCU). This may be due to various software parameters within the TCU. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously.

Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.

Summary2020-2022 Transit vehicles equipped with the push down parking brake lever operate differently than the standard parking brake. When the push down parking brake is engaged by pulling the lever upward to its fullest extent, the lever can then be lowered and raised without the parking brake becoming disengaged. To disengage the parking brake, the button must be pressed and held when the lever is in the most upward position, prior to lowering the lever. Refer to the Owner's Manual for additional information.
