VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
In 2024 Ford introduced a turn detection in the F-150 (and other Ford vehicles). This feature extends the adaptive cruise control which recognizes speed limit signs and dynamically adjusts the speed control to comply with speed limits. This added Turn Detection, detects curves that have the Yellow highway curve warning signs with the small orange suggested speed limit sign below and automatically slows the vehicle down to at or below the suggested corner speed. The vehicle slowly goes through the curve and then rapidly accelerates out of the curve back the set cruise speed. This causes a huge safety issue especially on highways with higher speed limits where the suggested corner speed is substantially below the general flow of traffic. First Example of safety issue: When driving on a highway with a higher speed limit (especially 60mph or higher) with cruise control set for example to 65mph (speed traffic is naturally flowing at), entering a corner with a suggested speed sign of 55mph causes the vehicle to brake unexpectedly bringing the vehicle from 65mph+ to 52mph rapidly. This unexpected braking cause vehicles following to be caught off guard and in multiple cases almost rear end my truck. Second Example of safety issue: When driving through canyon highways in Colorado where almost every corner has a suggested corner speed, the truck is constantly braking hard into corners and rapidly accelerating out of corners. With the corners so close together in these canyon highways it creates a situation where the truck becomes difficult to steer and keep on the road because of the numerous and rapid speed changes which is very dangerous in a canyon environment. This issue has been problematic since I purchased the truck new, this behavior is acknowledged by Ford when I took it into the dealership to get it addressed and they have indicated that the functionality is working correctly and there is nothing they can do to correct it even though it's a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the taillights, running lights, and indicators were inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. Upon further research, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V418000 (Exterior Lighting). The local dealer was contacted, the vehicle was visually inspected, but the vehicle was not officially diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 71,842.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
DRLs have partially failed on both headlights, vehicle is available for inspection. This seems to be a common problem for similary F-150 according forums and personal observations of other vehicles. The DRLs are a safety feature and not functions DRLs create a safety issue, as on coming drivers are not able to see the vehicle as clearly. Has not been reproduced or confirmed by dealer. Has not been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. I did report to Ford Customer Service but was told there was nothing they could do about it. No lights, messages or warnings. Problem has been visible for a least a year, but have not experienced further failure. Only way to fix is to replace the entire headlight assembly with a total cost of around $4000 for both assemblies.

POWER TRAIN
On November 10, 2025, our 2023 F150 powertrain failed for the second time in about a month. I was pulling away from a curb when the truck experienced a loss of power. The Ford service center diagnosed this as a PowerTrain Control Module failure. This is dangerous because I was driving when the failure occurred and the truck lost power. This could have been catastrophic on a highway or while traveling at a higher speed. There were NO warning lamps, messages or any other symptoms prior to the failure. Ford had just serviced the truck with an oil change on October 3, 2025 and then replaced a failed auxiliary fuel pump on October 7, 2025 that also led to a failure while driving.

POWER TRAIN
Our 2023 F150 has had two back-to-back powertrain failures. I was accelerating out of an intersection after the light turned green and suddenly experienced a loss of power. The Ford service center diagnosed this as a Transmission fluid auxiliary pump fault. This is dangerous because I was driving when the failure occurred and the truck lost power. This could have been catastrophic on a highway or while traveling at a higher speed. There were NO warning lamps, messages or any other symptoms prior to the failure. Ford had just serviced the truck with an oil change on October 3, 2025, four days before the failure. Then it happened again one month later. I will detail that in a second complaint.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Fuel pump went out while driving causing the vehicle to sputtering and so running while driving up a hill. Couldn't restart and stick in park that prevented it from being moved out of roadway. Vehicle had only 64000 miles but wasn't included in recent 2025 recall that covered other vehicles with the dave fuel pump issue.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The following components have failed multiple times over the course of 3 months to include the above referenced recalls and additional components. The recalls have been completed per ford . The instrument panel was not going blank until the software update was completed now it malfunctions multiple times a day . The brake warning will appear randomly and without warning depicting "Brake System Fault" service required . "Parking Brake Fault " service required immediately. In addition to the above issues the entire lighting/lamp system will turn off unwarranted at night while on auto . Reported multiple issues as described to AutoNation Ford and Ford Credit. No resolution has been provided.

POWER TRAIN
The transmission shifts hard from 1st to 3rd during the first few minutes of operations. When I make the turn out of my resident each morning, it nearly fishtails due to the fat that the transmission stays in 1st gear until around 2500-3000 rpms, then shifts violently to 3rd gear. The tires actually spin. After a few stop and goes, and the transmission has cycled through the gears several times, it shifts normally. I have taken it to the Ford dealer in Royal Palm Beach, FL. They said that there were no recalls, despite there being several complaints from other truck owners about the same issue. Ford knows that the 10 speed transmission in the F150 has shifting issues.

BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated the infotainment center was frozen or blacked out intermittently, preventing the contact from being able to access the cameras and systems controlled through the infotainment system. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); however, when the dealer was contacted, it was confirmed that the vehicle was not included. A second dealer was contacted, McClary Ford Inc (1104 US Hwy 72 E, Athens, AL 35611) and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
right running light has went out. yes, it will be available for inspection. lack of lighting causes trouble seeing at night while driving. brought to the dealership was told they would need to change the entire headlight. that woul cost around $2000.00. (both sides are now out). from research the 2021 ford f150 running lights are known for going off. $2000.00 all the time get to be big. the running lights do dim a little right before they go completely out. the running lights are all connected to the head light. there is no way to replace the running lights with out change a $2000.00 head light. not to may people have $4000.00 to replace headlights on a 4 year old truck.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
The windshield wipers on my 2021 Ford F-150 are inoperable. The wipers suddenly stopped working with no warning. The vehicle had already received Recall 23S10, which was supposed to replace the defective wiper motor arm. However, the wipers have failed again, suggesting the recall remedy was inadequate or that defective components are still being used. Ford and the servicing dealer refuse to reopen the recall or provide coverage, even though this is clearly the same safety issue. Without functioning wipers, the vehicle is unsafe to drive in rain or snow. I request that NHTSA investigate whether Ford’s recall 23S10 remedy is effective and whether additional corrective action or a new recall should be issued to address continued wiper motor failures on these vehicles.

After entering my 2022 F150 Lariat in a parking lot and starting it, I placed my iPhone on the charger and I backed out of the spot I was in with my hazard lights turned on. I placed the vehicle in drive and turned off the hazard lights. As I pulled forward, a deafening sound came from the back seat of my truck that sounded like some kind of electric static with a popping noise. I reflexively pressed the break, ducked my head and tried to turn the volume knob down which did nothing. I pressed the stop/start button to shut the vehicle off and that did not change the sound coming from the door speakers. I jumped out of the truck because the sound was painful and proceeded to use a pair of pliers from a leatherman that I was carrying to disconnect the positive side of the battery; this too did nothing. At this point, I closed all of doors and searched the web on my phone to see if similar problems existed for other owners and if there was a fix. After about 8-10 minutes, the sound stopped. Based on what I read, this was a widely known issue on Ford F150 models between the years 2021-2024. Apparently, Ford has not responded to this yet. If this we’re to happen while driving, it’s would be shocking enough to cause a reflexive action that could put people in danger of a crash. I have video of this occurrence if needed.

I started smelling gas in the cabin of the truck when I came to a stop. As I was driving on the freeway I noticed my gas gauge going down rapidly. Within minutes I ran out of gas. Got the truck towed to Ford dealer. After diagnosing the issue I was made aware by Ford service department that one of the high pressure fuel injector cracked and was spraying gas out which caused me to run out of gas. With gas spraying in the engine I was at severe risk of a fire. No warning lights or messages appeared when this happened. After investigating I noticed Ford has a recall for this issue for other vehicles but not the F-150.
