The steering wheel got stiff and hard to turn making turning a struggle. The shifting gears slipped and locked in place. The electronic throttle is is indicating a problem. These are just a problem over some time.

ENGINE
Random stalling upon deceleration with no warning lights after stalling (as if the engine thinks it is still running). Occurs at low speed. Sometimes the engine will surge when the rpm drops off instead of stalling. I have almost run into other cars when the surging happens. The stalling occurs randomly and is becoming more frequent. A scan of the internet shows many others with same issue. No CEL.

purchased may 15th.and now car sits in my apartment parking lot as a roadblock for all tenants since May 27th. 2008sebring started fine.drove 2 miles roundtrip, vehicle ride was rough upon turning into residence thankfully I was not on the street in traffic when the car decided to stop ,the windows were down I still have not been able to get them rolled up .lights instrument panel lights went haywire flashing,ding chime sound continuous. the backdash illuminate light has never worked. wont accept jump from cables,has power in areas under hood, charged to 12v on charger able to get code (DTC-U1403 implausible fuel level signal. Just like the recall of the wiring issue it's similar. The week this happened the tire pressure indicator in the lower left corner of Dash was lit up and the cruise control light would come on but when engaged it would not drive at the limit set only reduce is speed the stereo CD changer didn't work I thought it was just because it was old the cigarette lighter which I used for my power source the light on that device would flicker in and out showing it wasn't getting a good connection the key would get stuck in the ignition or do a continuous storage where you it would not spring back as it should you'd have to turn it off and then try to restart it the battery in the fob work just fine before all of this took place now the battery is dead in the fob as well. it won't hold a charge I want to know how it's going to get fixed and with whose money?? $95 for Diagnostic.while covering windows later that night,I was able to see a dim red light where the tire pressure indicator was lit up at the fuses are fine the battery is 6 months old but it is constantly draining I it won't stay charged I can't get it out of gear it to put it in neutral to move it anywhere. Main purpose was to get me to my doctor appointments now I can't even do that& I haven't been able to do that.. i think this recall has Revisited. its unsafe

Air bag light stays on at all times and it put fear of safety issue is a wreck is to happen. Driver seatbelt light doesn’t go off, it’s as though when putting the belt on even though it’s latched it isn’t and causes the warning light to stay on.

New battery, plugs and wires, new alternator. It will run for 5 seconds after jumping, then lights pop on and it dies. When jumping the negative also throws a spark while trying to start.

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with smoke coming from underneath the hood. Smoke then entered the cabin of the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the odometer was inoperable. The contact restarted the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that her daughter had asthma; however, the contact and her two children did not receive medical attention. Car will start sometimes and then will not. Replaced 20 amp fuse and it will start. Maybe 10-15 times it will start and then it will not. My wife drives the car and is very concerning to her. Have looked at other complaints on your site about this and no one has had it resolved!!!!

The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V047000 (Fuel System, Other). SEATS
The driver seat has a part that wears out and causes the power seat to move forward and backward on its slide track. eventually the part will fail and the seat will slide right into the steering wheel which will impact the drivers chest. The power seat has two acme threaded rods that drive the seat rails forward/ backwards to allow driver to adjust the seat. the acme rods drive a custom screw block to allow the motion. when in static position only the screw block holds the seat and stops it from moving forward and backward. from what i can observe the acme rod is case hardened but the screw block is not. the screw block seems to wear out prematurely after four years. if left unaddressed the screw block could fail completely and allow the seat and passenger to hit the steering wheel while braking or in a front end collisdion.

I was driving my car & listening to music. All of a sudden my passenger side dash speaker started smoking, then was shooting fire. I had a Bubbler drink & splashed it across the dash onto the speaker. It was scary, as I thought my engine might blow up. I took it to the shop, but they were so busy, it sat for a week, & I finally said forget it(I would have been too costly) & I needed my vehicle to get to work. Many things failed after that; gas gauge; speedometer needle; right turn signal; & radio.Other things but just can’t remember at the moment.

There were 7 recalls on my make, year, model vehicle. Three of which were Brakes, Air Bags, and the TPMS tire monitoring system. Other body parts, doors and hood releases had recalls along with hvac/air conditioning systems. Radiator/fan motor failures. Doors flying open during transit. The ABS control module could cause the brakes to lock-up during braking. Shorts from unused connectors for the computer/TPMS system/brakes and air bags have been causing many unpredictable breakdowns. Some predictable, from past records, state recorded Instances from 180,963 vehicles that just failure of the TPMS monitor system has already caused engine no start, dead battery, Inoperable cruise control, remote start system, engine stalling which could cause a "crash without warning". This was what i read on the www.autoblog site concerning this vehicle. I contacted the Chrysler Recall Center and the site says the dealer's techs would seal the wiring "free of charge", and to replace the front seat track position sensors "free of charge". The recall center said they wouldn't do any repairs at their "free of charge" policy for ME. They said that I would have to pay out-of-pocket, when the site says they already serviced 180,963 vehicles "free of charge". I'm broke and on fixed income. Why are they being so unfair. From what I heard, and I could be wrong, but I was made to believe that there is no expiration date for recalls. If they already state online, some of the recalls could cause a "crash without warning", why would they refuse me? This happened yesterday to me. The Check TPMS System warning notice appeared, along with the Air Bag Red warning light at the top of the speedometer, while I was driving. The tire pressure screen appeared showing the tire pressure of the four tires. They are all fully Inflated. The Air Bag red light came on/off a few times, while driving home and the tire pressure screen remains on all the time. I don't want an accident.

STEERING
While driving down the road the Lexus it locks the steering wheel to keep it from moving at all broke almost causing me to have an accident when making the turn it will not pass safety inspection now because of the broken piece inside the steering column that’s where I was going to get it the safety inspection for our state when it broke. I’m not sure exactly what it broke but this is a safety issue. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated while approximately 20 MPH, the entire wheel detached from the vehicle. The brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle was inspected. It was confirmed that the tire had detached. No further information was available for the wheel location. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence, then to a local independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the lower arm joint and rear axel fractured. The vehicle was currently being repaired. I was driving on the highway; all of a sudden my right dash speaker started on fire. I had a Bubbler in my vehicle, so I used that to put it out. Since then, my radio no longer works, nor does mileage show & gas gauge fluctuates, & cannot tell when it is actually empty.
