VEHICLE: 2024/2025 Chevrolet Traverse RS COMPONENT: Electronic eBoost Brake Master Cylinder Assembly DESCRIPTION: Within a few months of purchasing the vehicle, the brake pedal began exhibiting excessive free play (long pedal travel) and significantly delayed stopping behavior, particularly dangerous at highway speeds. The vehicle requires substantially more stopping distance than normal, creating an imminent rear-end collision risk. This defect has been brought to the dealership's attention twice already. The vehicle was just serviced and returned for this same issue. After each service visit, the brakes temporarily function normally for only 500 to 1,000 miles before the dangerous delayed braking behavior returns. Previous dealer repairs included bleeding the brake lines and updating the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software — both failed to permanently resolve the issue. The root cause appears to be an internal bypass leak within the electronic eBoost brake master cylinder assembly, where defective internal rubber cartridge seals allow pressurized fluid to slip past them over time, progressively degrading braking performance until the next service intervention. This is a REPEAT safety failure. The vehicle has been serviced for this identical brake defect TWICE, and the condition returns each time within 500–1,000 miles of the repair. This issue is documented under GM Service Update N242482170 and TSB 25-NA-029, and is the subject of active class-action litigation affecting 2024–2025 GM SUVs. The driver and all vehicle occupants are placed at serious risk of injury or death due to the inability to stop the vehicle within a safe distance during normal highway driving conditions.

Vehicle: 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71 Mileage at first incident: 25,821 My 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71 experienced multiple safety‑critical electrical and ADAS failures. The vehicle had a Reduced Acceleration / limp‑mode event, accompanied by a strong antifreeze odor inside and outside the vehicle. Dealer diagnostics on 06/29/2026 and 07/16/2026 confirmed several trouble codes affecting the engine, braking system, and collision‑avoidance systems. The following diagnostic trouble codes were recorded: P3705 – Engine Coolant Pump Control Circuit Low (engine cooling fault) C0609 – Park Brake Actuator / Switch Signal Fault (brake system logic fault)-Active 6.29.26 10:12:43AM U160A – Lost Communication With Serial Data Gateway Module (CAN‑bus gateway failure)-Active 6.29.26 10:12:43AM U197A – Lost Communication With Front Radar Sensor Module (forward collision warning / AEB disabled)-Active 6.29.26 10:12:43AM These faults caused loss of radar‑based safety features, including Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The vehicle displayed warnings and temporarily disabled ADAS functions. The Reduced Acceleration event created a hazardous situation in traffic. The dealer attributed the incident to “low coolant,” but the diagnostic codes clearly show electrical and communication failures across multiple safety‑critical modules. The antifreeze odor continues, suggesting a possible coolant leak or unresolved cooling system issue. The vehicle has been inspected by GM technicians, and the codes were documented on both visits but they say car is fine. The safety systems affected include brakes, engine cooling, electrical CAN‑bus communication, and collision‑avoidance radar modules. I am requesting NHTSA to record this complaint and evaluate whether these failures represent a broader safety defect in the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71.

While driving on vacation approximately five hours away from home with my family, I suddenly heard a loud popping sound followed immediately by increased outside wind noise coming from the panoramic moonroof. Based on the sound, I suspected the moonroof glass had shattered. Because my family was in the vehicle, I intentionally did not open the interior sunshade, as I was concerned that broken glass could fall into the cabin and seriously injure my passengers. After safely pulling over, I inspected the roof from the outside and confirmed that the panoramic moonroof glass had completely shattered. During the drive back, the shattered glass panel completely detached from the vehicle and flew off. Fortunately, it landed in the grass and did not strike another vehicle or person, which could have resulted in a serious accident or injuries. Because this occurred over the weekend, I had no immediate access to repairs. To safely transport my family the five-hour drive back home, I had to temporarily cover the opening with a trash bag and tape to protect the vehicle’s interior and reduce exposure to the elements. After returning home, I contacted the dealership, provided photographs of the damage, and explained the circumstances. I was informed that the failure would not be covered under the vehicle’s warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair costs. I am extremely concerned that the moonroof shattered without any apparent impact from road debris or object. Had the interior sunshade been open at the time, pieces of broken glass could have fallen into the passenger compartment, potentially causing serious injuries to my family, including eye injuries or cuts. Additionally, when the glass panel detached from the vehicle, it could have struck another motorist or pedestrian, creating a significant safety hazard. I believe this incident represents a serious safety concern and request that this matter be thoroughly investigated and reconsidered for warranty coverage.

Brand new car just purchased the end of March 2026. Went through car wash multiple times with no issues until one day the shark fin antenna came off and broke the plastic anchors. Now the circuit board is exposed to weather hazards. I read online multiple times this is an ongoing issue with this specific make and model and still GM declines to cover this under warranty.

After turning the car on, engaging reverse, and then retuning back to park (driver stepped out of vehicle once in park) the vehicle reversed 60 feet on its on through a parking lot with 2 children inside of the car (disengaged from park on its own while vehicle was running). The vehicle was ultimately stopped by a tree with damage to the tailgate and rear. The gear shift selector remained in park for the entire incident. A claim was filed with GM and the Traverse was initially labeled as a “intermittent failure” in my May 2026 claim interview. Post GM inspection, the vehicle is now deemed “operational” (no repairs from GM) and being returned to my family as of July 2026.

My breaks have been squealing on my 2024 Traverse since about 6 months after my purchase in 2024. I have taken it to the dealership on multiple occasions and they stated that GM knows of the issue but there is no fix. The system states my front breaks are low. I recently took my Traverse to a break repair/replacement shop and they stated my breaks are not low and they look great and numerous people have brought their Traverse in with the same squealing complaint. With the amount of complaints why hasn't GM done anything about it?

I own a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse RS, VIN [XXX]. This vehicle has repeated safety-related failures involving the engine/cooling system, fuel-injector/misfire system, steering-assist warning system, and electronic parking brake system. The vehicle is currently at AutoNation Chevrolet West Austin, dropped off on XXX, and is available for inspection. Soon after delivery, the vehicle began losing coolant and overheating. This was not isolated. Before the engine was finally replaced, there were at least four documented coolant/overheating-related dealer visits or repair notes: XXX. The problem repeated again on XXX, becoming the fifth coolant/overheating-related visit and resulting in GM/dealer-authorized engine replacement after internal coolant-related findings. Dealer records show low/empty coolant reservoir, overheating, fan-running symptoms, almost one gallon of coolant added, no external leak found, coolant dye added, GM TAC involvement, and internal coolant findings. After engine replacement, the vehicle continued to fail. In February 2026, it displayed check-engine light and “Steering Assist Reduced / Power Steering Reduced.” The dealer confirmed misfire and replaced cylinder 1 fuel injector. In April/May 2026, the vehicle displayed a service parking brake warning; the dealer documented left rear parking brake actuator high current. Now, on XXX, the vehicle is again at the dealer for blinking check-engine light, and the dealer advised the code shows another engine misfire. My family’s safety is at risk. Repeated overheating, engine replacement, steering-assist warning, parking brake warning, and recurring misfire create unsafe drivability risk, especially on highways, merging, intersections, or long trips. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving down a neighborhood road and my car suddenly slammed to a stop, forcing my chest into the steering wheel and throwing my dog from the backseat into the back of the passenger seat. We had it towed to a local shop and they reported the solenoid inside the transmission has failed. This is a two year old vehicle with less than 100k miles on it. Luckily, I was in a neighborhood going less than 50 mph and did not have my children in the car with me. Other than some soreness, my dog and I are fine. This could have been a lot worse and caused more serious injuries. I would like this reviewed for a recall and contacted as to why there were no warnings from the vehicle prior to this failing. If I had been going any faster or driving on a busy road, this could have put the lives of my children at risk.

- #11747958July 2, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Approx 5/19/26 Forward Collision Detection check light randomly came on when driving home and showed notifications showing "Service ESC" "Service Traction Control" then started showing notifications for the collision sensors unavailable and continuously flickering them across the dash. The Fwd collision symbol would come on and off randomly. Finally was able to take it to the dealership on 6/8/26. Dealership found 6 codes and updated the image processing module. The Fwd Collision symbol is back on and off, notifications are flickering across the dash more frequently and now the check engine light is constantly on as of 6/14/26. Car is currently back at the dealership. Pictures and videos were taken of the issue happening to provide extra proof and given to the techs. These sensors failing at any time could cause the vehicle to randomly brake, not brake, and possibly not register a potential accident and avoid it. This vehicle is our daily driver and is the vehicle my son's car seat is in so it's not just my safety, it's the safety of my wife and baby. It's the safety of anyone else who has this type of vehicle with these issues. Understandably it's always the drivers responsibility to pay attention to the road and surroundings but there's nothing the driver can do if the vehicle randomly shuts off or stops or slams on the brakes or another type of malfunction while out on the road. This vehicle has been in and out of the dealership 5 times now for three different things, every time it's picked up, the problem is still there or comes back within days. It's a pain moving all the baby gear back and forth, on top of the rentals we have been given have been so small, you can't even fit a stroller and groceries per-say in the trunk.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from underneath the vehicle while depressing the accelerator pedal to accelerate. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a hole in the exhaust system causing the acceleration failure. The vehicle was repaired out of pocket. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the waiting period suggested. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

On [XXX] I purchased the vehicle from Bakersfield Hyundai within days I reported break failure and notified them about a noise that was coming from the SUV that sounded like a mini motorcycle, they first said (Xavier) that the noise would go away because it had just gotten serviced but they kept me there for four plus hours and said I had to take it back which I did and again I took it for break replacement and I told them the noise would get louder and sometimes it would smell inside the vehicle like vinegar again they did nothing they falsely said I declined to stay because of time Which I didn't I asked if they were able to provide me with a vehicle while mine could get serve since I have children that attend school to who they said no, so I couldn't stay longer I had to pick up my children from school this is my only vehicle so Hyundai would not do anything about the breaks nor that sound the vehicle started making beeming noises from across the dashboard the main screen freezes and not to mention the vehicle stalls I have to jump start it, also when I sent Hyundai a video of the exhaust pipe ruptured they automatically contact Chevy and vehicle has to be towed to them there was a very strong oder of vinegar and rotten eggs coming into the cabin to which I had let Hyundai dealership know but they didn't document they said I had to take it to Chevy now they replaced the pipe but the vehicle still has issues starting up the screen still freezes and once in a while I still get that smell of vinegar in the cabin I have paperwork from Chevy and Hyundai I also have video, pictures and txt from Hyundai personal admitting to knowing about the pipe leak not to mention I was exposed to this for about 40 minutes I had driven my children to school I had my OBGYN appointment to which I informed my doctor I was experiencing a headache and dizziness I thought it was because of early pregnancy not knowing it was carbon monoxide I miscarried that following day 4/13/26.
