My truck took my truck to Austin and back. Woke up the next day. Started it at approximately 4 o'clock in the afternoon and had engine oil low alert. Got out check the oil in my truck and there was none on the dipstick with the truck off of course. Checked at two other times allowing the dipstick to stay in for three or four minutes. Still no oil on the dipstick. Did not drive truck any further. Truck has the 6.2 L and I had the recall applied to the truck on December 8. The truck has 88% of the oil life remaining according to the truck.

My 2022 Silverado Pickup with 6.2 engine simply died as I was heading down the highway at 65mph. It was dark outside and I barely got it pulled over to side of road safely. Had to have it towed to Chevy dealer. They weren’t sure what problem was— starter and battery indicated ok. However we had them install new ones just in case. We’ve seen on our searches of the internet that this is not a new problem. Just today it died again on me as I was driving in town, but did start again. I travel quite a bit and am worried it will die on me again in this crazy cold weather! Chevy needs to acknowledge this issue with the 6.2 motor! I’ve already spent almost $1500 on this issue and don’t think it’s fixed,

I am sending this email to report that my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado had its rear brakes lock up momentarily on consecutive days (1/13/26 & 1/14/26) driving 70-72 mph. Each occurrence came on without warning and only lasted a brief moment, but locked up hard enough for my rear wheels to screech and slam me forward in the truck, thankfully there were no other vehicles near me. I took the truck to the dealership first thing in the morning on 1/15/26 to be informed later that day that the truck didn't show any codes. The service department at my dealership contacted the TAC Dept. at GM and they determined that the problem was caused by the brake light wiring from my truck topper (that was after they asked if the customer had added any accessories to the truck). I have had the topper for 3 years without any issues. I reached out to the company that installed the topper and the owner said that GM is giving me the run around and trying to point the blame elsewhere. He himself has installed 100's of toppers and they follow the wiring instructions from Leer Toppers. He did a 30 second Google search and said [XXX] , the problem you have experienced is well documented online, GM knows what the problem is with your truck". My truck was at the dealership for 5 days before they released it to me, even after I told them that there are known and documented cases of their trucks experiencing momentary rear wheel lockups. I have called GM Customer Service twice and left messages regarding my truck and TAC # and haven't received a return call. I am fearful that when this happens again and if it does so in the wrong place at the wrong time the end of this story may be tragic. If I was pulling a trailer, driving on ice or in rush hour traffic I can't imagine the outcome. GM knows they have a serious problem and they is comfortable in releasing a dangerous truck back onto the roads. My truck went into limp mode with pulling a trailer on the highway due to a wide known injector pigtail failing. The truck would not accelerate, started shaking and lost speed suddenly. After resetting the DTC on my computer, each time the truck would hit a rough spot on the highway and vibrate, the truck would go back into limp mode. After getting the truck repaired at $566.67 cost, the dealer say they would not help with the cost. Said the NHTSA would have to force them to fix this now issue. This was not a cheap truck and GM should not have there customers at risk in traffic with a know Limp Mode issue.

My husband and I were driving his Chevy Silverado with our two dogs in the back. Without any warning or any alert, our vehicle came to a complete stop in the middle lane on a three lane highway. Not a slow stop where there was any time. I’m confirming immediate. At that time, the vehicle would not move at all for almost 5 minutes. As we sat there praying to God that we wouldn’t die as tractor trailers and other vehicles came flying past missing us by inches. It’s truly a miracle that no one was killed. He put truck in neutral and pressed start button and was not able to go any faster then 5 mph and once again a miracle we were able to make it to shoulder of highway without being hit. The vehicle was shaking excessively and flashing things like emissions, traction, as our videos and pictures will show when we made it to side of highway. This is a disgrace that any vehicle would ever be manufactured with this outcome. I am deeply grateful that my husband and I and our two dogs are alive and not injured but this should NEVER happen again.

As I was speeding from the fast lane to get across to the right lane off ramp when my vehicle suddenly shot off. I knew I couldn’t stop on the off ramp or on the bridge I was on. Luckily I had a green light at the top of the off ramp and coasted to an empty parking lot. Once I came to a complete stop I attempted to restart my truck but no luck. The truck would not even crank over. I tried multiple times and the dash would only go dark for a few seconds and I would try again to start and had no luck. Called AAA and they thought it was a battery so they put a jumper and same thing, no crank. Then they tried jumping it with jumper cables and still no crank at all. I had just installed a new battery no more than 4 months ago and my headlights, interior lights all are working fine, no dimming or anything like that. I just had an inspection on the engine last time the truck was at the dealer and they said everything was fine and they put a new oil cap and thicker oil. I think this is related to the safety recall Chevy just performed. This is a huge safety risk, I’m lucky I was able to pull off the freeway when this occurred. It’s not normal for a vehicle to just shutoff on you at freeway speeds.

10L1000 transmission, began having problems with delays and harsh gear engagement. Flare shifting and shuddering. Finally starting having transmission overheating issues while towing. I had to make several unsafe stops with a trailer to wait for the transmission to cool down again before continuing to get it home. Saw trans temps up to 240°F on flat land with 40° outside temps. I could smell the hot transmission fluid inside the truck. When I went to check the fluid level of the transmission, the fluid was full but had a large amount of glitter like metallic flakes. The fluid was very dark brown in color and smelled terribly burnt. The last recall I took in to the dealer for was about the transmissions possibility of failing, locking up, along with the rear wheels at any speed. I have young children that ride in this truck, that in it self was unsettling and unsafe. But then to have issues with absolutely no warning light was concerning. Ive since ordered an aftermarket built transmission to avoid repeating the same issues with a factory GM replacement. My factory warranty had also ended a few months prior to having these problems with it. Leaving me to completely foot the bill for it to be replaced. I had to pull money from my retirement early to cover costs, in fact costing me much more than just the sticker price.

At 46000 miles the motor was replaced because of an internal oil consumption issue after the motor was replaced at 1500 miles the motor locked up while traveling down the road they rebuilt this motor. I went to go pick it up. Drove it 20 miles and oil was blowing out the rear main seal. after this, I sold the truck back to Gwatney Chevrolet and purchased a 2024 model with a 6.2 L I have not had any problems yet.

While driving at highway speed in my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Duramax, the transmission suddenly failed and locked up without warning. This caused an immediate loss of vehicle function and created a dangerous situation while traveling in traffic. I had my two children in the vehicle at the time. I was able to safely maneuver the truck to the shoulder, but the vehicle was no longer operable and required towing. This failure occurred only a few months after a transmission replacement and follows prior transmission repairs, including a valve body replacement performed by a GM dealership. This is a repeat transmission failure and presented a serious safety risk due to the sudden nature of the failure at highway speed.

The engine block heater in my truck keeps tripping the circuit breaker. Dealership says it that 'it appears that the block heater cord is shorted recommend replacing cord' estimate $500. I understand that Chevy has recalled some trucks from this year for this very problem however it and they don't include my truck. This is a fire safety hazard!!! The company admits it is a safety issue. Why isn't my truck on the list? Here is the article I found on it. 2020 silverado engine block heater cord recall +5 General Motors has issued recalls affecting 2019–2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and various heavy-duty models (4500HD-6500HD) due to a fire risk from the engine block heater cord . My 2022 Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine has had continuous problems since purchase. The original engine was replaced under warranty at approx. 24k miles and has now had the lifters and camshaft replaced, as well as the knock sensors. All of this had to be negotiated with GM and my poor service manager, despite numerous recalls and class action lawsuits with GM regarding these known issues. I would like to trade this truck off for something safe and reliable, however the used value is tanking as quickly as their new vehicles. Dealerships are offering over $11k off of new 2026 trucks, damaging the resale value of all 2021-2025 units. At this point I just want GM to purchase the vehicle back and let me find something safe for my family.

The replacement engine blew in the november of 2025 in the fast lane at 80 mph. no warning no check engine lights just shut off. The replacement engine started make noise like it was going to blow again in december 2025. I paid 65k to have 3 bad engines in one year. corporate gm was of no help

I was pulling out onto the road and heard a noise in the front and right after my upper ball joint snapped completely off folding the tire underneath the truck and smashing the whole front end. Very lucky I was not on the highway. Had truck towed into my shop where after examination part failed prematurely. My insurance paid for it all which was just short of $10,000 in damage minus my $500 deductible and the tow bill. Now I have lost my safe driving deduction because of this claim, which caused my insurance to skyrocket. There were no prior warning signs, and I have my vehicle serviced and inspected regularly at my service provider.

On 1/24/26 I used the remote starter to warm up the truck and it started but within 3 minutes it shut off. The temperature was in the single digits. So I tried the remote again and it wouldn’t start. And the remote start hasn’t worked since and the check engine light is on. Two years ago when the brake module failed right before that recall the temperature was very cold that day too. Just two months ago the check engine light came on and that time the dealership said the battery failed . It also printed out a whole page of errors , at the dealership.

My truck passed the recall PICO test right at 20,000 miles. The dealer put thicker 0w40 oil in. Less than 2,000 miles later, upon hard acceleration from 5-8mph, the engine climbed to 58mph then lost power, shifted itself into Neutral and coasted to the side of road. Truck was towed and told the engine seized up. Changing the oil did not make sense to me as lubrication was always available previously, thickening it does not change the port mill sizes for properly oiling the crank bearings. Now the new engine is revised but I see failures in low milage 2026 models happening.
