Sliding rear window leaks in 3 spots. Leak poses the safety risk of mold growth inside the vehicle along with the potential of water getting inside of electrical components and air bag device compartments. The problem was reproduced and confirmed at the dealership, to which the plastic seal at the top of the rear window was confirmed to have failed in 3 locations. Dealership recommended replacing the entire back window and assembly with what they believe to be the same window assembly that failed. The only inspection completed on the vehicle to date has been the dealership GM certified technicians. Musty smell after rain and observed staining on the headliner is when the issue was first identified.

We received a recall on this truck 2/2025 showing that there was a transmission control valve defect that was causing excessive wear on the gears. We took it into Sands Chevrolet and they did a repair under warranty. Within a few weeks, the truck again lost power, would not go over 30 MPH and caused a safety issue as it happened while on the highway. We immediately took the truck back to Sands who informed us of the recall and that the transmission needed to be repaired because of the excessive wear under the recall. Sands Chevrolet told us it would be 2 months before they could repair it. However, there was another local shop that could so we took it there and had it repaired within days. The dealership told us to submit our invoice and credit card statement showing that we paid the $5575 out of pocket that we were told we would be reimbursed for. Now, Chevy is denying that there was even a recall on the vehicle.... but I have the letter from GM showing the recall and the local Sands dealership is the one that told us to go get it fixed. I have the scan of the safety recall, but it is not letting me upload it here. It is GM Recall # N242454440

- #11664955June 4, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While pulling my Vilano fifth wheel trailer to Alabama from my home state of Texas the driver information center alerted me that the trailer brakes were disconnected. Then a short while later it alerted that trailer brakes were connected. This situation continued for the entire trip to Alabama. When the info center indicated trailer brakes were disconnected, they were indeed not working. Several times I almost rear ended cars stopping in front of me. (The vehicle had a recall notice urging to take it in and replace the brake module shortly after purchasing it. I did this.) Once I arrived in Alabama I took the vehicle to the Chevrolet dealership in Foley, Alabama to check the braking system. They told me there was no problem with the braking system. I retrurned to my home in Little Elm, Texas with the problem occurring the entire trip. I finally made it home and today took the vehicle to James Wood Chevrolet in Denton, Texas to have the braking systme checked again. They told me there was nothing wrong with the braking system. The service writer did say that because the trailer has LED lights the braking system does not recognize the voltage from the trailer and that is why the brakes are disconnecting. Please help me find out how to correct this extremely dangerous condition while I am towing my 16,000 pound fifth wheel trailer.

May 3, 2025 while driving home truck starting making noise and all the dash lights started blinking including the 'check engine' light. Felt not safe to drive, afraid I would lose control of truck. Immediately pulled over and called dealership who advised to have truck towed in. Truck is still in shop and apparently needs a new engine, problem seems to be the same as the recalls for engines made in 2021-2024. The engine on my truck was manufactured in 2020 and not part of the current recall. This is the 2ND time engine has failed. June 7, 2021 at 4,600 miles again driving and engine started making noise, all dash lights flashing. Again didn't feel truck was safe to drive. Towed to dealership. Cause was a 'failure of lifters on cylinder 5 and a bent push rod.

I was driving with my [XXX] son when engine seized in the middle of a 4 way intersection at [XXX]. I had to get him out of car seat and exits the intersection on foot with no one willing to help slow traffic we waiting on road side for an hour till wrecker arrived. The engine was ruined something GM I now know was aware of. GM will not honor the recall on my truck because it was a 2019. All other years are being recalled. I have spent $12,000 on the engine replacement. I’d like help recouping the cost from GM INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This transmission has shifted terribly since day 1. It currently has 114,000 miles. It would slip gears going up an incline. I was told the fluid was too slick. Fluid change at 30k. Started to stumble on downshift again. Fluid / filter change done. Brass, metal in filter/ pan. It will downshift so hard that it feels like you are getting rear ended at a stop light. 1-2 seconds after a complete stop, bam. Been down 9 weeks.

In light of the recalls for other Silverado Fuel Pumps, I believe an investigation should be initiated for vehicles like mine that are part of the same manufacturer but were not part of the original recall. Right when this recall was announced my Silverado which is in excellent condition and has only 73,000 miles on it has a failing fuel pump, communicated by a check engine light and coded for the fuel pump failure. According to my dealer the cost to replace is almost 2,000 dollars. A fuel pump in a heavy duty truck should not fail after only 73000 miles.

Loss of power in my power steering due to corrosion of a ground strap. Found service bulletin 23-NA-201 issued 12/23 for the exact problem. The dealership stated there was no bulletin or covered under warranty and is being replaced with cost to myself. I had intermittent low speed "jerking" occasionally a few days before up to the incident.

Additionally, the contact disconnected and reconnected the battery and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a particulate filter failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Prince Chevrolet Service (4550 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602); where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the exhaust pressure sensor pipe and exhaust gas recirculation cooler needed to be replaced.
