- #11692403October 9, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
When driving all gauges go to zero, truck doesn’t illuminate which gear it’s in, warning lights come on (service 4WD, service stabilitrak, service traction control, reduced power steering, service traction control, service trailer brake system ). When NOT driving if these issues show on the dash when parked and the car doesn’t illuminate which gear it’s in, it does not crank over, does not start, there is no clicking noise either like if it was a bad starter. All the dash lights, gauges, radio goes black as if I turn the vehicle off instead of on. This has been happening since around 2020-2021 in Colorado. It was in a shop for over a month with no resolution. In Idaho in 2022-2024 in a shop for a month with no resolution, and now CA in 2025. No mechanic shop can figure out what is wrong, no “certified GM” shop or “certified GM engineer/technician can tell me what’s wrong. I have had the following replaced already and still having issues. Body Control Module (BCM), the Transfer Case control Module (TCCM), and the Brake Control Module (BCM).

- #11692405October 9, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The back windshield on my Silverado leaks water every time it rains causing the back window to smell of smoke like electrical burning. It also creates a visibility issue out the back window when I've called three different dealerships in the area and each one of them say it is a known issue with this vehicle and it's going to cost almost $3,000 to fix. I have contacted GMC only for them to say that I needed to contact this department I feel like this is a safety issue that GMC should have to help their customers with not just be like oh well your truck may or may not be on fire while it rains

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with cruise control mode activated, the vehicle inadvertently went into Limp mode and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, which prompted the contact to discontinue driving the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the connecting rod failure had resulted in engine damage. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be rebuilt or replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000(Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 95,000.

When truck is turned off, cannot remove key. You have to wait 5 minutes or more before the key will come out of the ignition. Sometimes longer. This is an ongoing problem. We have another truck doing the same thing.

We are having 2 problems with this vehicle. The first is the key in the ignition is not always removeable when you turn the truck off. The second is we are told called the chevy shudder. It almost feels like the wheels pause for a micro second. It feels like the there is something wrong in the transmission, drive train area. The truck started doing this when it had less than 50,000 miles on it. It hasn't broke down yet but it wouldn't surprise me if it did any day now.

My telematic control module has intermittent connectivity. The check engine light comes on and off and the go's, on star and wifi comes and goes as well. This vehicle has 52k miles on it and is only 2 years old. The shop I took this to said it is VIN specific so the dealer is the only place that can fix it. This is a safety issue due to no onstar as onstar claims to be a safety feature. This needs a recall because this issue is all over the place on gm products.

The truck lost power without warning. No warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the truck not having any power. Scary because we where traveling at around 40-50 mph and the truck lost power while on the road with other vehicles. The truck is at a dealership now being investigated.

Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: I am filing this formal complaint regarding General Motors' failure to provide a timely remedy for safety recall XXX and GM's inadequate response to a catastrophic transmission defect that has affected my vehicle twice, resulting in complete transmission lockup while driving at highway speeds. *SAFETY INCIDENT HISTORY My 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has experienced the transmission control valve defect described in recall XXX on two separate occasions, both while driving at approximately 65 mph on the highway. Each incident resulted in complete rear wheel lockup, creating an immediate life-threatening situation. Following the second failure, I had the vehicle towed to Huffines Chevrolet Plano [XXX] ) on August 18, 2025. UNREASONABLE DELAY IN RECALL REMEDY As of today, October 6, 2025, my vehicle has remained at the dealership for 49 days with absolutely zero action taken toward repair. The vehicle has not been evaluated, diagnosed, or repaired. The dealer states they have only one transmission technician to handle the massive volume of recalled Silverado trucks affected by this defect.
