The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with crankshaft failure. The dealer discovered metal shavings in the engine oil and oil filter, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The replacement engine was ordered, and the vehicle was repaired. After the engine replacement, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle felt difficult to operate. Additionally, while the vehicle was parked and turned off, the vehicle failed to restart and lost motive power without any warning lights illuminated. The mechanic also informed the contact that due to the prior crankshaft failure, the transfer fuse box, starter motor, and battery had failed and required replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that upon inspecting the replacement engine, the manufacturer’s sticker indicated that the engine was a remanufactured engine, and there was dirt and debris on the engine. Number one electrical system left side wire harness manufacturer installed in properly, not watertight and ran through a pinch point causing wires to break. Safety was put at risk due to power failure from fuel pump and brake lights failing which could’ve caused a potential accident. Been confirmed by an independent service center. Reached out to the manufacturer. They said there was no recalls. It was very unhelpful. On the failure happened a light did come on. Number two media end navigation system this is a safety risk because at certain times it will switch between screens at will by itself. They will also put calls on hold, causing you to instinctively reach for your phone and taking your attention from driving as well as switch off of navigation moving your attention from driving, this is a clear definition of distraction and not serving the purpose it was created for which is also been confirmed by an independent shop. I reached out to GM. They said there was no recalls. And there is no service light. P.s.I just found out that I could make a complaint here so I do not have any of my old documentation. I just went to the dealership this morning to try and get some help and I had no luck. They would not be helpful at all. They just want to sign me up for a service meeting and charge me another $500 to look at it only to tell me they can’t order me a wearing harness again.

All or most of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 models are having the same exact issue, the coolant hoses that cools transmission oil are exposed metal to metal rubbing against each others, and over time from driving normally will eventually cause transmission oil leaks in different areas of the hose element, GM technicians acknowledge it a faulty design from the manufacturer , so GM adapted a customer loyalty program but only to deny a fix or repair at there own expense. This is definitely should fall under a manufacturer recall.

Engine just died going 55 mph on a paved road. GM repair shop says engine needs to replaced. They originally told me my 6.2L engine was a recall, but my VIN didn’t show on database. Seems GM’s scope was not wide enough on their recall. I feel I deserve a new engine.

While driving down the road the engine quit. There were NO indicators of anything wrong. Check engine light was NOT on. It just quit while driving. I didn’t have any notice. I wasn’t even able to get it off of the road. When it did come to a stop. The engine would not restart. I was stranded and had to get a tow. I had it towed to my mechanic and upon inspection, he says it needs a new motor. My truck has ran fine with all the regular maintenance up to this point.

My transmission started to make a rumbling sound intermittently while I was on the highway. It happened during normal highway speed and not dependent on acceleration or deceleration. I brought it to the dealership with 84,000 miles and they dropped the transmission pan. No metal found in the fluid. The issue was with the torque converter. I had my oil changed 1.5 weeks prior with a 21 point inspection. I was curious if there was a TSB for this issue. I haven't been able to find a recall notice for this issue.

When driving normal speeds to work on a county road, engine light comes on, service light comes on. There was a tapping noise and reduced power. Luckily, there was a sports field parking lot that I could pull into to get out of traffic. We had the truck towed to our house through our roadside assistance program so that we could determine what to do. If we had not been able to pull off the road as quickly as we did, we probably would have been hit by the semi that was barreling behind us. The truck had reduced power.
