These customers are now being asked to bring their vehicle back in for another hood replacement under Safety Recall N202306490. For their inconvenience, dealers are to offer the customer a selection of one of the available goodwill tools listed in this bulletin. Because each customer has unique preferences, please offer all options found in this bulletin to the customer and allow them to select the one that best suits their situation. Please note that not all vehicles in Safety Recall N202306490 are included in this service update. The goodwill offer described in this bulletin should be presented to the involved customer when they pick up their vehicle after having Safety Recall N202306490 performed on the vehicle.   This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with the steps on diagnosing and repairing vehicles that may have unwanted grade braking, reduced engine power with no Driver Information Center messages ? Brake Pedal Override Feature ?, transmission busy or frequent shifting up or down, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes P057B, P057C, and/or P057D may or may not be set. Technician will use this preliminary information to find the brake pedal position data parameters in the scan tool, and also to provide some additional diagnostic help. These issues may be caused by an incorrect brake pedal position sensor input to the engine control module. Technician will verify with the scan tool if the engine control module has the correct parameters for the brake pedal position sensor. If an engine control module brake pedal position sensor relearn is performed, the truck may be temporarily repaired until the intermittent wiring issue between the engine control module and brake pedal position sensor occurs again. On 2014 and newer trucks inspect and repair any damage to X115 and X119. On the 2014 and previous trucks inspect and repair any damage to X205.

The vehicle is functioning as designed, however, aerial lift bucket applications were not clearly understood/comprehended during the development/release of the power take off module, (PTOM).   This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a delayed engagement into drive, shudder at a launch, or the transmission is slipping when shifting into 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th gears. This may be due to loose stator support to pump cover bolts causing a leak at the stator support to pump cover gasket. Technician will check for the bolts to be loose. If any of the bolts are loose or the gasket is misaligned or leaking, the transmission pump cover must be replaced and the 1234 clutch plates should be inspected for being distressed and repaired as needed.
