My 2021 Chevrolet Equinox, VIN [XXX] , previously showed an active recall related to fuel system and stalling issues. The recall no longer appears under my VIN, but the same dangerous symptoms are happening. The vehicle jerks during acceleration, hesitates, loses power, and stalls while driving. These problems create a major safety concern because the vehicle can suddenly lose power in traffic. The symptoms match the original recall-related issues that were previously associated with this vehicle. I am requesting that the vehicle be inspected for recall-related failures, warranty coverage, special coverage adjustments, or goodwill assistance due to the safety risk involved. I would like documentation showing whether the recall repair was previously completed on this VIN and whether any warranty remains on the repaired or replaced parts. I was driving on freeway and went to pass a semi. The suv hesitated and had terrible turbo lag. It almost caused an accident if it hadn’t been for the truck behind me taking action to avoid a collision.

While driving vehicle during afternoon traffic, the vehicle started to sputter then die in the middle of the road, I tried restarting the vehicle, it would crank but would not start. I pushed the vehicle off the road and called a wrecker. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership for repair. After two days, they informed me that the fuel pump control module failed and would have to be replaced for approximately $600 I had no choice but to ok the charges, I spoke to the service manager because this part should be covered under the vehicle emissions warranty, but they said no, I did some further checking and it appears this part was a recall item! I contacted GM customer support and even after acknowledging the issue but stated it wasnt for our vehicle even though it was the same part and year.

While in a parking lot going about 10mph or less, a car pulled out from a parking space on the left. I did a full brake and despite being dry, warm pavement, the car activated abs and released some brake pressure and allowed the car to continue to move. This ment that my braking distance increased by about 5-10 feet more than you'd expect. I have had this happen 3 times, each time a car was pulling out perpendicular on the left. I tried to replicate this in an open parking lot and it never repeated therefore I think it has something to do with the car approaching on the left and the active braking system.

This vehicle makes a noise that sounds like your driving over rumble strips. The front end shakes and there is a hard vibration. I purchased this vehicle used on 5/5/26 and it’s been in the dealership twice already. The Onstar module is defective and now this noise and vibration. The shaking starts upon accelerating. The dealership, Central GMC/Buick of Jonesboro, AR. told me that GM knew about the problems and that their Engineers did know the fix yet. They say it’s not a safety issue but This is an unsafe vehicle and GM knows it’s unsafe. I’m afraid to drive it.

- #11738069May 15, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
On May 9, 2026, while pulling into a parking garage parking space at low speed (below 5 MPH), the brake pedal was pressed but failed to engage or slow the vehicle. The pedal was pressed completely to the floor with no resistance, and the vehicle continued moving forward until it struck a wall, causing damage to the vehicle. Earlier the same day, the brakes produced an abnormal hissing sound while pulling out of a parking space. No other symptoms or abnormalities were present prior to failure. The vehicle may also have recently received a software update, although it is unknown whether that is related to the incident. The failure appears to involve the brake system and the driver safety assistance systems equipped on the vehicle like forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and Dynamic Brake Support systems. The exact failed component is currently unknown and remains under inspection by a Chevrolet dealership. No warning lights, messages, or audible alerts appeared before, during, or after the incident. The automatic braking/collision avoidance system also did not activate. Because the vehicle had no braking capability at the time of the incident, the occupants and nearby pedestrians were placed at risk of serious injury. On May 10, 2026, the vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealership for inspection. The dealership has been unable to reproduce the issue, and no mechanical defects or diagnostic trouble codes related to the incident were identified. On May 13, 2026, the issue was escalated to the GM Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for further review, and the vehicle remains at the dealership awaiting a response to the TAC case. The dealership acknowledges similar brake-loss concerns referenced in GM service bulletins involving the 2025 Chevy Equinox and other models, including bulletin N24471431, although they stated the bulletin does not apply to this specific VIN.

- #11737976May 14, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle experienced multiple instances of sudden engine stall and loss of motive power while navigating active downtown intersections and airport terminal lanes in Atlanta, GA. These failures occurred without warning, leaving the vehicle immobilized in high-traffic areas, including a turn in a multi-lane roadway. This defect creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or being stranded in hazardous traffic conditions. Incident Chronology: Initial Failure: In February 2026, the vehicle stalled in an intersection. After a manual reset of the Check Engine Light (CEL), the vehicle stalled again during a turn. Diagnostic codes P228C (Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Exceeded Control Limits) and P0089 (Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance) were present. First Attempted Repair: The dealership performed a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)/recall procedure to calibrate the fuel pump and pressure sensors. Recurrence: Immediately upon retrieval, the vehicle stalled again in a "no parking" zone at a major airport after 45 minutes of operation. The vehicle would not restart or maintain idle, necessitating a second tow. Final Repair: The dealership replaced the fuel pump assembly. Additional Safety Concerns: Approximately 4,000 miles prior to the fuel pump failure, the vehicle experienced multiple "Reduced Engine Power" events and "Service ESC" flashes while traveling at highway speeds (approx. 70 mph) in rainy conditions. The dealership replaced all fuel injectors and spark plugs at that time. Manufacturer Response: Despite the "Engine" designation of the diagnostic codes, GM initially claimed the fuel pump was not covered under the powertrain warranty. While partial assistance was provided for repairs, the recurring nature of these stalls suggests a significant reliability issue with the high-pressure fuel system components and engine.

At approximately 75 mph on the highway, the vehicle suddenly shifted into Neutral after the Park button was accidentally pressed. Once in Neutral, the vehicle would not re‑engage Drive or any gear. The vehicle lost propulsion in fast‑moving traffic. I had to coast to the shoulder, stop completely, and shut the vehicle off. Only after restarting did the transmission respond again. No warnings appeared before the incident, and no software updates were pending. Loss of propulsion at highway speed is a serious safety hazard and indicates a possible failure of the shift‑by‑wire system or transmission control module to prevent unsafe gear changes. A transmission error did show up when coming to a complete stop.

My vehicle OnStar telematic module has shorted out the complete electrical system. This module is backordered. No time frame was told it could be months. Many GM vehicle have the same problem. The vehicle can stop while sitting or driving. This vehicle is unsafe to drive i traded it to the dealership. They will hold on to it until(if & when) they get the part.

While operating our vehicle on traveling at approx. 45 mph during mid-day traffic, the engine on our vehicle died and would not restart. we had no power steering and had to wrestle the vehicle off the road The check engine light was on and we tried repeatedly to restart the engine without any luck. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership for diagnosis and repair, it was determined that a Fuel Pump Power Control Module had failed and that it would cost $599. to repair. We approved the repairs and then approached GM for reimbursement after discovering that this same part was recalled by GM Ref # N252516900 which covered the make, model and year of our vehicle. We contacted GM customer relations and after speaking with them multiple times they approved a partial adjustment on the bill for approximately $150. I explained that according to their campaign notice and ongoing issues with this component we wanted a full refund and would not accept a partial payment of 1/3 our cost. GM refuses to stand behind their product even though our vehicle only has 27,500 miles. I spoke with the service manager at the dealership, and he suggested I contact GM customer service and they should resolve the problem since this was an ongoing issue.

The vehicle cannot be shifted into neutral if the vehicle runs out of gas. There is no way to shift to neutral and roll it to the side of the road. The vehicle ran out of gas on the interstate, automatically braked and could not be moved out of the middle of the interstate. To make matters worse, this was in a construction zone.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle's GPS monitoring system had failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on multiple occasions where the contact was informed that a software update was performed on the vehicle; however, each software update failed to correct the failure. The dealer was notified of the continued failure and informed the contact that the part to repair the vehicle was on backorder with no certain timeframe as to when the part may become available. The contact stated that he and his wife are elderly and rely on the GPS monitoring system for both traveling and unexpected medical emergencies. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure where they gave the contact the same information as the dealer and was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
