The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. A dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

SUSPENSION
The Multimatic DSSV damper in the left rear lost its fluid through a leak. Various forums indicate there is a design flaw with the DSSV for the ZR2. A blown shock renders the vehicle unbalanced, and marginally safe in unexpected rough terrain or when pulling a trailer. These dampers or shocks have shafts that are too thin and poorly designed seals, causing them to leak.

ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
2016-2020 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon diesel models have faulty DPF and DEF systems that fail within <20-60K miles. They do not warranty it as powertrain, and it is a common problem. SAFETY ISSUE: While out of state, the vehicle regenerating exhaust cleaning cycle can not properly clean the system. It then goes into limp mode. 2 dealers have tried to fix it, with no avail. Limp mode limits speed from 65mph with no power on hills, to 55, then 4mph. STEERING
The key will not come out the iginiton. It takes several minutes to hours turning it back and forth to get it to finally come out. This is a true issue because it drains the battery overnight when you can not turn the key off.

Vibration and shimmy of vehicle while driving. The entire truck shakes about every 10-20 seconds. Brought the truck in twice in for the company to fix and they do not understand or recognize the problem. Still not fixed and the North Branch Chevy dealership will not stand behind the warranty or repair.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn to the right. The contact stated an unknown power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact drove to his residence. The contact called and notified the local dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

The Good Year tires that I purchased are making a high speed vibration. I feel that my safety is at high risk when I am driving on the highway. I did seek help from a independent service center. They rebalanced the tires, and one tire was replaced under warranty. I paid $65.00 out of my pocket. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, etc. There were no warning lamps or messages.

The key gets stuck in the ignition after you finish driving and you put the car in park. There is some lever that doesn't release when in park. Many, many others have reported this problem. It is very dangerous as the key cannot be turned to the off position and removed, which ends up draining the car battery and leaving the driver stranded. Some are suggesting to remove the safety lock on the ignition as the only solution to get the key out. This would allow a driver to remove the key WHILE DRIVING, which would probably result in an accident and death.

2016 colorado SERVICE BULLITEN PI1429 CANT REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION WHEN PARKING SHIFT LEVER ISNT ENGAGING OR FULLY SEATING. THIS IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS IF AN EMERGENCY EVER AROSE OR RESPONDING TO IT...IF YOU CANT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION THAN WHAT IS THE POINT OF EVEN DRIVING THIS TRUCK. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IM NOT GIVING CHEVY $800 TO FIX YOUR OWN MISTAKE. PAID 30K FOR A TRUCK THAT YOU CANT TAKE THE KEY OUT OF.

Loss of power steering assist while driving due to poor electrical connection within steering gear assembly. This the SAME condition related to safety recall on 2015 Chevrolet Colorado under NHTSA campaign number 21V-213. Power steering failed causing extremely dangerous driving condition. GMC dealer identified problem as poor electrical connection within steering gear assembly. Dealer would not honor recall under campaign 21V-213 because my vehicle is a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. GMC dealer replaced the steering gear, including the torque sensor cover assembly - the SAME repair for the SAME condition under the recall for 2015 Colorado.

Ignition tumbler and steering wheel locked. Could not turn key, could not turn wheel. Truck was is park on flat driveway. Tried all basic instructions (three adults) and then called mobile mechanic. He could not get it to turn either and could not remove steering wheel cover to access ignition tumbler to replace. Truck is three years old. Had to have it towed to dealership.

POWER STEERING FAILURE. TRUCK WAS MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20MPH WHILE TURNING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. COULD NOT MAKE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. DEALERSHIP SAYS 2 COMPONENTS ARE BAD: THE 'STEERING ANGLE SENSOR'. AND THE 'STEERING GEAR TORQUE SENSOR.' THE TORQUE SENSOR IS SUBJECT TO NHTSA RECALL #21V213, BUT THE 'ANGLE SENSOR' IS APPARENTLY NOT SUBJECT TO ANY RECALL YET. TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEABLE WITHOUT BOTH BEING FIXED.

IGNITION SWITCH FULLY WON'T TURN TO OFF POSITION. ENGINE DOES TURN OFF, BUT KEY CAN'T BE REMOVED. HAPPENS FREQUENTLY AND SO FAR, STARTING IT, PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE AND MOVE A BIT, THEN BACK INTO PARK WILL WORK. AT SOME THAT MIGHT NOT WORK AND I'D HAVE TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND LEAVE THE TRUCK UNATTENDED. I COULD STILL LOCK IT, BUT IF SOME KIDS SEE IT OR BREAK INTO IT, THEY COULD DRIVE IT AWAY. CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THIS. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN #PI1429B.
