The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted before returning to normal functionality. Since the failure was first experienced, the failure became a regular failure. The check engine warning light was illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a transmission fluid flush was required. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000

STEERING
Very scary!! Power steering completly locked up and continuing to lock up while turning. This is not something to take lightly as there had been no prior warning. Simple drive to the grocery store almost caused an accident while turning. Had to yank the wheel to correct as it was completely stuck in the turn position. Check light on, inspected by mechanic and they are indicating that this is a service power steering and “Stabilitrak-Stability control notifications. Checked with dealership and they have the 2015 models with this issue that has been recalled. The 2016 models have not. This is the same issue and someone is going to get hurt!!

The contact was able to pull over the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted operated normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering). The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 72,000.

STEERING
I took my 2017 Chevrolet Colorada in for an oil change and when exiting the building I made a sharp left turn at very slow parking lot speed. The steering wheel locked up and was difficult to break loosed. I had the mechanic come out and he drove the Colorada around the building and it locked up on him also. This could be a very life threatening situation had it not been in the parking lot. I drove directly to the Chevrolet dealer to report the problem and they had never heard of this happening. I beg to differ on there statement as I did an Internet search and found numerous problems the same as mine from owners of Colorado, Silverado and GMS pickups. I am actually hesitant to drive this vehicle for fear of have a catastrophic failure causing injury or death. I was at a Jiffylube service center at the time and the certified mechanic drove the vehicle. Insurance claims representative informed me that steering wheel air bag didn't deploy when I wrecked 2017 Chevy Colorado. I suffered multiple injuries. Broken ribs, broken sternum, broken femur in 2 places, concussion,lung collapsed. No warnings no message. I'm gonna email the insurance company and ask them to report it to the Chevy company and file a police report since they are in possession of our truck which they haven't settled yet 2 months. Truck was total loss. Insurance company has it at their facility in Culpeper

Frame of my vehicle is rotting away causing to fail inspection. Just finding out that Toyota did a recall on one of there pick up models replacing their frame due rotting frames that may be a safety factor if it gets into an accident. Does Chevy Colorado have a recall as such? Just had my frame recently welded on a piece of heavy metal to reinforce my frame in order to pass a safety inspection

SERVICE BRAKES
Driver backed the truck out of a parking spot and the brakes did not engage. The service engine soon light then came on and said it was an anti-lock brake failure. Their have been two guesses so far as to what caused this. A faulty master cylinder or an issue with the engine control module relaying info to the brake control module and/or transmission control module.
