Steering Column cover was rattling and felt coming apart. When Right side Turn signal was activated and the turn was completed, automatically left side turn signal was activated. Both of the above concerns were addressed by the GM Chevrolet authorized dealer on 8/26/2024. Again the Turn signal started malfunctioning as stated above, and the vehicle is now at the same GM authorized dealer for service with additional AC compressor failure. Date: 5/28/2025.

When battery was beginning to get old/need replacement but vehicle would still start: 1. The power steering assist stopped working intermittently (virtually impossible to steer even at speed) 2. Power brake stopped working intermittently (very hard to get vehicle to stop) Unsafe for me, would have been very unsafe for certain without significant physical strength.

Tire size 245/45R20 I purchased a set a 4 Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus tires for my truck in 2022. I haven't driven a lot of miles on them due to the fact that I live on the Island of Oahu, in Honolulu, Hawaii and have a lot of thread life left. I noticed that the sidewalls on 2 of 4 tires are cracking and separating. I removed them from the vehicle due to the risk of tire blowout and injury in the event of an accident. I've emailed Cooper tires for information and warranty resolution and have yet had a reply.

This vehicle suffers from a torque converter/transmission shudder after the transfer mission fluid heats up. My initial complaint to the selling dealer and they did not follow the GM posted procedure and initially charged me for the service. I’ve changed dealerships and I’ve been told it the temporary fix is to do a flush and there is no permanent fix by GM. I have had situations where and unexperienced driver would have definitely got into a car accident and I don’t let anybody drive my car because I believe it is unsafe. So far the dealer has been accommodating while under warranty but advised I reach out to GM who then advised to review my documents I file an NHTSA complaint. What occurs when the vehicle is not in warranty and the vehicle continues to shudder. I have included the service bulletin and repair invoices.

We purchased a used 2024 Chevy Colorado WT with a little over 4,500 miles on April 9th. A couple of days later before starting the vehicle the brake pedal would sink all the way down to the floor. This happened twice. So I made a service appointment with the Chevy dealer on April 14th. I told the service advisor that the brake pedal sank to the floor twice before starting the vehicle. He said they would take a look at it. When I went to pick up my vehicle the next day, the service advisor said the technician could not duplicate the problem. That same day, the brake pedal sank to the floor before starting the vehicle. So I made another service appointment the following week on April 23rd. I have videos to prove that the brake pedal would sink all the way to the floor before starting the vehicle. The service advisor told me that that technician duplicated the problem and they will order parts for it. The vehicle has been at the dealer since then. The service brake issue is a safety hazard that needs to be addressed.

I was driving the truck and first I got a "Software Update Needed Vehicle must be parked and off" this was followed quickly be a "low tire pressure alarm" 3 times in a short distance then I got a message "Antilock brake issue do not drive over 62 MPH or vehicle may not stop" then the brakes began to randomly slam on and release and smoke began to come out of the air vents. The next alarm was "ESV Shutting down " and I lost power steering and brakes; I tried getting the vehicle off the road out of the traffic lanes and the smoke was rapidly increasing in the cab then the engine shut down and I did my best to get the truck out of the traffic lanes and flames started coming from under the hood. A man stopped to help me out of the truck and by then the engine compartment was fully involved quickly and spreading into the interior of the cab. This all happened on country roads at about 40 MPH. I went to the medical center 2 days later as I was still having problems breathing from all the smoke. This was a new truck I bought in early November and only had 6900 miles on it.

- #11662471May 21, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
The components failing are the (ADAS) components. Specific concerns are with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front facing detection camera, and blindside detection. The front facing camera will randomly deactivate prompting a message to check for obstructions as a possibly reason of failure. Upon checking, and also wiping the lense, there is not obstrution. Blindside detection operates at random and at times will stay on for a sustained period without any vehicles near or around my vehicle. This is especially bad at night because the light is extremely bright and directed into the drivers vision. Adaptive cruise control will falsely detect vehicles or objects that are not present and implement emergency braking before recognizing there is no vehicle/object and then speed up. Sometimes this will happen consecutively in repetition. This is especially concerning because it has happened at interstate speeds as well as highway speeds with traffic behind me during the day time. It would brake aggressively taking my speed from 65 mph down to 40 mph and the change to a wide open throttle to regain speed only to brake again. Sometimes it will just keep slowing until I turn off cruise control. All of this happens without notice or indication other than the blindside warning lamps during its failure. It has happened often enough that I can not use the cruise control confidently. I have had it into the dealership for inspection and they claim there were no codes and could not reproduce the symptoms during a brief test drive. They however inform me that the front facing camera mentioned earlier does all the sensing for these components but did not get a reaction from it. I do experience one or more of these problems daily. I have also experienced false pedestrian warnings from the system early on but that has not happened for 3 months currently. I welcome requested inspection to hopefully get this fixed for my safety and those around me.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that the 360 rearview camera would activate unintendedly while the vehicle was not in reverse(R). The contact stated that the 360 rearview camera had engaged while driving and remained engaged for an extended period of time. The contact stated that the failure had prevented him from activating the headlights as needed through the infotainment system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camera had failed, and the dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer did not have a fix for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20. The VIN was not available.

My 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, equipped with the 3.6L LGZ engine, recently triggered a P0024 diagnostic trouble code. This code indicates a failure of the Bank 2 exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid, a critical part of the variable valve timing (VVT) system. After researching, I discovered that General Motors has issued Special Coverage N232430470 for this exact issue on the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, which uses the same LGZ engine and solenoid system. Despite the identical failure and engine design, my vehicle is not currently included in the coverage. I believe this reflects a systemic defect that affects multiple model years — not just 2020 — and that GM is choosing to limit coverage unfairly. This failure can result in check engine warnings, drivability issues, reduced fuel economy, and possibly emissions system non-compliance. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate whether this VVT solenoid issue warrants a broader recall or special coverage extension across model years with the LGZ engine (including 2019).

You will be driving down the road and then the power steering goes in and out so stops working and then starts working again. Not safe especially on the highway. No lights go on on the dash. Chevy is currently trying to figure out the problem but has not yet.

Today is [XXX], I’ll be looking up the other date that this happened to me. I was going 65 miles an hour on [XXX] and Oregon I lost my power steering and almost lost control of the vehicle on the freeway because my control systems started going haywire and I could not steer the truck with out considerable strength. I was in the far left-hand lane as I slowly merged to the emergency shoulder I received a service power steering light. According to Chevy, the part number that needs to be replaced is the same recall part number that they did in the 2015 Chevy Colorado. This is dangerous and unacceptable. If my wife was driving the car we would’ve been in a serious accident, cause she would not have the strength to manually get the car off the freeway or if this was happening like it did last time while I was turning, and I almost got rear-ended by a semi truck please help me get back to me. I know this has been reported hundreds if not, thousands of time by other Colorado owners. Sorry about the photo today being blurry, but you can see the track control is off and it’s saying power steering has been disabled. It’s blurry, but you can make it out. When making right turn with blinker on, after completing turn, blinker automatically turns on left blinker. Difficult to turn off. Sometime blinker stalk sticks, and I can't turn either blinker back on.

On [XXX] after only 400 miles on the odometer, I experienced complete transmission failure while on a highway and was nearly hit by the vehicle behind me, luckily that did not happen. On April 29th, a new replacement transmission was installed by the Chevy dealer, and now on [XXX] I had experienced a severe burning smell from under the hood of the vehicle accompanied with a grinding sound, which lead to me to take it back to the dealer. On 05/15/25, the customer care manager informed me that the new transmission from the factory has metal debris inside the pan, and the vehicle would again require a complete "tear down". This is very unsafe for major powertrain components from the GM factory to keep failing, another failed transmission on a brand new truck like this is very unsafe especially because I drive on major highways to commute for work and transport my young children. This is unsafe for the public and my family, GM needs to be held accountable, they also refuse to refund me my money back on this vehicle, and are disregarding Lemon Laws in NYS. While driving, after being on the road for about 15 minutes the power steering went out and did not return. A warning notice for the power steering system came on with a notice for stabilink. It became extremely difficult to maneuver the vehicle. After returning home the vehicle was turned off. Later that night I turned the vehicle back on and the warnings were gone and the power steering had returned.

Losss of powwr steering assist. Randomly would lose power steering snd the wheel would try to straighten. Around corners at any speed it did it randomly. Whe. It first happened i was turning going 40mph and it almost yanked me into a wall. Every bump.on the road tries to yank the wheel s different direction. When I brake it pulls the steering wheel another direction. Progressively getting worse and worse. Now it doesnt go away. Constant loss of steering assistance, service stabilitrak light, service power steering light. Warning light for loss of steering assist, service stabilitrak, service power steering. Same issue as the 2015 colorado. Haven't taken to a dealer as they want to charge me for the diagnostic and repair.

P2738 Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 6 Control Circuit Low Voltage. Whenever you drive, the transmission will go into limp mode every now and then. It will say low oil pressure and throw another code of P0700 MIL Request From TCM. This is a common issue that I have researched and would like to know a way forward. I've only had the vehicle for 6 months. Within city limits as long as you don't push the accelerator too much (50mph within 2 minutes) it runs ok until the vehicle comes to a stop. Also, when you get on and off of the freeway, same issues make it go into limp mode in which you will have to shut the truck off and start up after a few minutes to reset.

Unknown. When my truck reaches a certain speed it is jumping or missing, it feels like a brake is sticking but I’m told it is a problem with my transmission, torque converter, going bad. It is getting worse. It cuts the power down on the vehicle. If I can go faster than 60 it doesn’t do it.
