SummaryDoors Will Not Unlock Using the Key Fob or Central Locking Button. One or more of the doors may not unlock when using the remote key outside the vehicle, or the central locking button inside the car. It is still possible, however, to unlock the door by using the key in the driver's door lock cylinder or by pulling the door handle on the inside of the car. Typically fault codes A6D4 and A6D5 are stored in the Junction Box Electronics (JBE). This is due to a blown fuse in the JBE caused by either: * An excessive amperage draw by one of the door lock actuators, which is commonly attributed to silicone contamination; or * An intermittent, but acceptable, amperage spike slightly above 15A, due to normal variation in the locking system.

Summary"Safety Belt Extender ""Handover"" Fails to Deliver the Belt to the Customer. The customer states that the seat belt extender ""handover"" on the front driver's or passenger side failed to deliver the belt. One or more of the following situations may apply: * The safety belt extender extends but the belt slips off. * The ""hand"" on the extender fails. * The safety belt is twisted. * The extender will not operate and makes noise while extending. S One or more of the following causes may apply: 1. The safety belt is incorrectly positioned. 2. The ""hand"" on the extender has mechanically failed. 3. The safety belt slips off the ""hand"" due to excessive resistance from the seat belt reel, not allowing the belt to extend properly. The seat belt is twisted. 4. The safety belt slips off the ""hand"" due to the belt material being excessively worn. 5. The safety belt extender fails to extend or retract intermittently due to FRM (Footwell Module) software. 6. SummaryErroneous Brake Pad Replacement Message. The Dynamic Stability Control module (DSC) calculates the brake pad replacement intervals based on information from the front and rear axle brake pad wear sensors. When replacement of the front and or rear brake pads is necessary, the DSC control module triggers an indicator lamp located in the vehicle's instrument cluster. However, the brake pad indicator lamp may be illuminated although a replacement of the brake pads is not necessary. Additionally, one or both of the following fault codes may be stored in the DSC control module: * 5DE0 Brake-pad wear: plausibility, front axle * 5DE1 Brake-pad wear: plausibility, rear axle CAUSE DSC software error

Summary"N54 Engine: Diagnosis of Cold Start Rough Running with Misfire Faults. The customer may complain that during the cold start in the morning, the engine runs very roughly and the Service Engine Soon lamp is illuminated. Various misfire fault codes (e.g., 29CC, 29D2, 29D1, 29D0, 29C0, 29CF) may be stored in the DME control module. The engine rough running complaint can be reproduced on a cold start in the workshop. During the course of diagnosis, the spark plugs, removed from the misfiring cylinders after the problem was reproduced, are found to be soaked (""wet"") with fuel, while the injector tips are covered with a layer of carbon deposit. Possible cause: high-pressure injector failure (leakage or incorrect spraying pattern) due to internal wear or unfavorable stock of tolerances IMPORTANT: For comprehensive N54 drivability diagnostics, always refer to the ""N54 Engine Diagnostic Fault Tree"" file (the current version ""02_14_13"" is found as a PDF attachment to SI B12 55 06)."
