- #11582606April 12, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The vehicle pre-sense stopped the vehicle due to the detection of an object however, there was no object. This happened going forward and in reverse multiple times, causing the car to come to a sudden, abrupt stop even at speeds in excess of 30mph. This resulting in my teen daughter having bruising from the seat belt. The car was taken to the dealership and the dealership recalibrated the control unit. The vehicle continues to unnecessarily activate pre-sense when in reverse, and causes the car to come to an abrupt halt despite there being no object. The system may be responding to shadows. Numerous returns to the service department continue to yield “no codes”. The PODS system was recalled and this is a related system.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Power Train system failed also engine light is now on How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Me and my toddler were in the vehicle when it started to jerk in bad traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the mechanic said this is a serious problem and i should be concerned. He stated i should not drive my vehicle. It was inspected by a certified mechanic. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, everything happen at one time.

- #11580639April 2, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The passenger side break light and signal stop working occasionally. I took it to a certified Audi service center, and they were able to fix the issue but reported that the central wire system that makes the break light and signal work are defective and that the issue will continue given that the cables may move every time I close and open and close my truck as the cables run through there. This is a mayor safety issue.

The contact owns a 2016 Audi A3. The contact stated while driving at unknown speed the message, "Oil Level Sensor System Fault" was displayed. The message was display on several occasions while the contact was driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the mechanic stated that several fault codes were displayed. The mechanic informed the contact that replacing the sensor might fix the failure and the part was replaced. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to stall, and the message was displayed again. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle for the vehicle to operate as needed. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic where the failure was unknown, and the mechanic had the vehicle taken to a different mechanic. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the gear shifter had failed to shift from park when the vehicle was started. The contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was towed to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,500.

About once per month my car will rev when the accelerator is pushed but the car will not proceed. On MULTIPLE occasions this has put the SAFETY of myself and other road users at SIGNIFICANT RISK. This is because I'll be attempting to pull into traffic and the car will FAIL TO PROCEED. This is a known issue documented by Audi in TSB # [XXX] [XXX] ). I've described the issue before to my dealership but only found out about the fix myself via researching on NHTSA's site. Further, this should CLEARLY BE A RECALL - the vehicle does not move when it is needed. Audi should not be charging customers for this update and it should be applied to ALL effected vehicles. Happy to provide any additional information needed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving under normal conditions. This happened while I was driving on a freeway. Luckily I maintained my composure and safely drove home with broken glass all over myself. My car insurance paid for most of my sunroof replacement. There was no symptoms or warnings prior to this incident.

There is a current recall for 2015-2020 Audi A3 sedan models regarding the vehicles EVAP SYSTEM, and I believe my car is experiencing that same issue but my specific vehicle isn’t listed as it is a 2016 Audi A3 Premium Plus Sportback E-tron. My engine light is illuminated and when checked, the detecting device says the warning is due to a small leak from the EVAP system in the vehicle.

My 2023 Audi A3 with less than 3,000 miles completely stopped in the middle of a highway in Saugerties, New York. 4 hours away from home. I had my dog and my little sister with me and in the freezing pouring rain we had to get out and redirect traffic/ try to find help. I called Roadside assistance. They never came on [XXX] and didn't call back till 10pm to say they couldn't get to us because of the 8 inch snow storm. We had no heat because the car would not turn back on. 5 Ubers/ 3 lyfts and all taxis didn't come. Finally 1 uber came and took us to a nearby camp site where they allowed pitbull dogs. The next day, I had to call over 60 times to get someone to just tow my car to Audi Albany. Audi Albany would not drive me a loaner car because it was an hour away. With a lot of arguing Audi roadside/tow services finally allowed me to drive with the tow truck driver to Audi Albany. They gave me a loaner but said I had to book another hotel night because I was not allowed to drive the loaner back to my home yet. I was stuck in Saugerties NY for 2 nights 3 days. We both got sick from Sunday waiting for roadside assistance for over 5 hours. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Water leaking into interior of vehicle and to the trunk of the vehicle. Noticed significant water entered and entering into the trunk of the Audi after a recent rain. Also tested the drainage of water when the moonroof is opened and noticed water leaking into the interior. The audi e-tron is an electric vehicle which may have dangerous electrical implications if water leaking into the interior of the vehicle finds it way to the batteries (fire, electrical system failure, etc.). I have already noticed some electrical malfunctions that may be related to the water intrusion. Traffic avoidance sensors deactivated and or compromised while driving during the rain/cold.

This is in regards to your investigation into a recall for Audi 2015 A3 fuel system issues. My car was repaired as part of that initial recall, however, i am experiencing a bunch of fuel related issues as of now. My fuel tank will no longer fill with gas. The dealership said i need a need fuel tank. Then at the exact same time, my low side fuel pump failed. I mentioned to the dealership about the recall and the fuel problems, they told me they were not related. I paid to replace the lower said fuel pump. Now a few months later my high side fuel pump has failed. I then found the article about the investigation about fuel issues, they told me again it was not related. So now they are asking me to replace the high side fuel pump. I told them it was not a coincidence that both fuel pumps and my gas tank all fail at the same time along with the investigation. They again told me its not related. I opened up a case with Audi of America and they are investigating. Having issues with the fuel delivery system will cause the car to sudden stop and stall at high rates of speed, and has caused me to break down in the middle of the road with no warning.

My Audi a3 got the recall for PODS done 5/2022 which the sensors and air bag in the passenger side weren’t working and I got the same lights come up 2 weeks ago. My Dealership says since this was a recalled item and is a massive safety concern and should be covered by AUDI USA. Instead they want to charge me $1400. I have 3 kids and one sits in the front, and need my car to take them to school and so forth so big safety feature I need. This is a huge safety issue and Audi needs to take accountability

The vehicle cabin started to smell like gas and the car would not accept fuel into the tank. Took to Audi/VW independent repair shop where they indicated fuel jet pump in gas tank was not working properly and that it had flooded various components with fuel (charcoal cannister, etc.). Directed us not to drive as it was a fire danger and said that we should send to Audi to see if they would cover this under warranty as it was a major emissions and safety problem. Towed to Audi dealer in Dallas. Dallas Audi dealer indicated this sounded like exactly what had happened for a recall issued for 2016 A3s. I learned this was subject to a warranty extension. Am working with the dealer who is trying to determine if that applies. Regardless, this is my daughter's car and a fuel leak with fumes in the cabin is a danger that should be fixed by recall.

The high voltage battery no longer charges to full. Only 7 out of 8 possible indicator bars are illuminated, the car now only shows 17-20 miles available. When I purchased the car 3 years ago, it showed 28-29 miles available. Car was at Audi dealership, got tested, Audi says it's within tolerance. I disagree, 30% to 40% of the capacity is lost so far. There are many more owners that are reporting the same issue on the Facebook Audi A3 group.

Transmission module! Started jerking when switching gears, to not switching gears at all and this happened while driving so I was on the road stalled with no gear changes! Car is inoperable, due to this and it’s still being paid for yet not able to be driven from practically the day I bought it! The manufacturer knows this is an issue and we are still out here in unsafe non gear changing cars! Very dangerous
