ENGINE
The contact owns a 2020 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle went into limp mode and experienced unintended deceleration to 5 MPH with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,986.

On two occasions now my vehicle was parked at the train station and I have returned to the back window being cracked. The first time (11/21) when I shut the rear passenger door I heard the glass crack. There was a small hole near the bottom center which quickly expanded as doors were closed. The second time (8/22) I walked up to my vehicle and there was a large hole in the rear window which looked exactly the same. Both times glass was also broken around the edges. We are confident it is not vandalism due to the fact that the vehicle was parked in an open well-monitored area, nothing was taken and no other cars were damaged. Something must be defective.

VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY
The sunroof/moonroof was closed and it exploded/shattered going down a major interstate highway doing 65mph. It sounded like a bomb or someone shot a gun at me. Glass is everywhere and its not cleaned up. Nothing was thrown at vehicle. There are no recalls on this vehicle. No warning lights or messages when it happened. I was very lucky I didn't receive injuries from the falling glass/getting cut. After it happened I closed the visor of the moonroof due to the hole. Now its seems visor is damaged too. I have a call into my dealership--waiting to hear back. Vehicle is sitting in my garage. Its available for inspection. I don't want to drive it. There are more photos than what is uploaded.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Father in laws vehical, low beam headlights so dim you can not see the road in front of you. very unsafe condition. bulbs changed, it appears reflective material inside the housing is missing or faded away, replacement lamp assembly very expensive. I see many other reports of this problem on here & on the Web. Other Acuras have had recalls issued for similar reasons, why not this one?

STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, SERVICE BRAKES
All software systems failed, disabling the vehicle. Error messages included failure in braking, steering, and other vital systems. Acura roadside assistance determined that the car had to be towed to the nearest dealer. The dealer confirmed the issue was a "DTC P061B PCM internal malfunction" and performed a "PGM-FI software update to correct the issue." The vehicle was completely disabled, and we were 4 1/2 hours from the nearest dealership. There were no warnings or communications prior to the incident.

The headlights are extremely dim. I have replaced the bulbs 2x. After looking on line, see that owners of 2013 - 2015 Acuras report this dangerous problem - can’t see clearly at night and especially in the rain. Called Acura - they said no recall. From the hundreds of posts it is a visibility/safety problem. Has gotten worse over time.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
My experience is in the attached file. My concern is Honda (Acura, same company) issued a service bulletin with VIN ranges (which my vehicle falls in) and yet there is no diagnostic error code to show it happened to the car, repair persons/dealerships can and have denied fixing anything because they can’t diagnose it and it’s in the owner’s manual directing the owner to take it to the dealer for repair. That’s a big disconnect. Luckily, I was able to dig to find the bulletin and provided it to my dealer with the description of what happened and they’re going to fix it. But that doesn’t help anyone else. You really should put pressure on American Honda Motor to issue a recall and do it right.

I've had the vehicle since around 44 k , Purchase and shortly months later technology lighting a battery issues, someone started hacking me saying they were a car warranty services , harassment in cybersecurity daily I've had over 6-8 electrical light replacements, 2-3 battery replacements, 3 alternator replacements, hacking is daily asking me to pay brides of 1000.00 which I have never participated in, someone talks the entire time stating they are getting my information, hacked my plates, tries to control the vehicle and using cyber security. Department of justice suggested to go to acura dealer for cyber ecu reset , inquired car about the car someone hacked the car saying they are trying to steal social security benefits, and preventing employment and want to impact finances. Car was hacked and shut down had triple AAA come out to look at the vehicle which was not working was informed it was the communicator of the body throttle but would need to have dealer process and program because of computer communication to release and preform gas pedal and power train. Picture video proving the noise and item car unable to lock some one broke into the vehicle and impacted the timing belt and etc. I have documents to support but want to be cautious of hackers and would be willing to share directly for safety pre-cautions

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Like many other Acura RDX 2014 owners, I have also experienced the dimming of headlights to the point where it is unsafe to drive in the evening or during severe weather conditions. After replacing the bulbs twice and cleaning the lenses, I took it to an Acura dealership. They checked the wiring and confirmed there were no issues, and said that the headlight assemblies are failing and need to be replaced. After searching the issue, I see it is common so I don't understand why this has not yet been recalled. It is a known issue that this car is unsafe to drive at night, endangering people in the vehicle, other drivers, and pedestrians. The alternative is to turn on high beams and blind oncoming drivers, which is just as dangerous. Acura is aware of this issue and confirmed no active recalls. I am passionate that this should be a recall - how is Acura okay with having cars on the road that are actively dangerous to drive at certain hours of the day? It's a defective vehicle and should be recalled. Get these off the road.

Low-beam headlights are so faint, it's dangerous to drive at night. Dealer will not repair, local service station will not repair - both say that the entire front facia (bumper, grill, headlight assembly) would all have to be removed to access the headlight reflector. From your website, there have been hundreds of complaints for the same issue - what needs to be done for a recall, someone getting killed? Total farce that Acura/Honda has not stepped up to fix a $40K vehicle.

While driving on I-95 north, the check engine light began flashing on and off. We had been driving in a thunderstorm for approximately 100 miles, when it began flashing. Then suddenly the car began slowing down. There was no response to repeatedly stepping on the gas pedal. As the car slowed down I was able to get over to the shoulder, and put the car in park. Again trying to get a response by stepping on the gas pedal, but there was no response. I shut the engine off, then restarted the car. The car ran fine, after I restarted it. I continued my drive from Florence SC to NY, and then returned from NY to Florida without any further incident.

I recently purchased this vehicle and had nit driven it at night. On 07/20/22 at approximately 930pm I had to pick my son up at a friends home. We live in Florida and thunderstorms are routine here. While driving I noticed my visibility of the road was not clear. I pulled over during the storm and visually checked that my headlamps were on. They were except that the lighting was dim. I proceeded to pick up my son and discovered that on a dark road I could not see 5 feet in front of me. I continued my trip and witnessed a dog run across the front of my vehicle. I swerved and applied my brakes. I did not see this animal until it was right on top of me. I turned on my high beams and completed my trip with them on knowing that Law Enforcement could have easily cited me for it. The next day I purchased the two best and brightest bulbs I could find and had them installed in the car. This did not change anything. The headlights are still dim. I have read on message boards that this is a known problem with this vehicle. Have any accidents been reported citing dim headlights? Why has the manufacturer not issued a recall? I have not driven at night since the incident and would like some input from you.

POWER TRAIN, ENGINE
Hard, jerking shifting at approximately 20 mph. Potential problem moving in close traffic such as from traffic light or entering traffic. No diagnostic warning/error lights. I’ve taken my car to Crown Acura 14080 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland, OH on July 11, 2022 for diagnosing and servicing the problem. It’s an intermittent problem so they couldn’t replicate so they couldn’t diagnose the problem. They flushed and changed the transmission fluid, bc and did a complete servicing. The service report does not show the transmission fluid filter was cleaned or replaced. I’ve found the problem mentioned a on the internet a number of times., but the mechanics were not aware of any transmission problems. I find it hard to believe Acura isn’t aware of the problem and how to fix it. The problem is intermittent and has been happening for over a year. The problem still hasn’t been diagnosed. I’m concerned my transmission will be damaged if the problem isn’t fixed. Most recent shifting problem was 4 times in about 30 min starting at ~9:30pm on July 21, 2022

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Ofttimes when parking the car does not fully shut off because the accessory mode fails to shut off. I have to restart the car and put it in gear go forward or backward attempting to shut off everything several times before the car fully shuts off. I have had to purchase a new battery because the car failed to shut off when parked by an attendant. Sometimes it will take me at least six (6) attempts before the car finally shuts off. Thanks!

Upon rapid acceleration, pushing the gas pedal down, the engine light started blinking and the car went into limp mode losing all power. This was a serious concern because we had just got off the interstate and if we had been full speed attempting to pass a vehicle, we could have been in a serious accident due to failure of power.
