I am writing to report a significant issue concerning a leak in the transfer case of my 2022 Acura MDX Type S, VIN: [XXX] . This malfunction poses a potential safety risk to myself and other road users. 1.Component Malfunction: •The malfunction occurred in the transfer case of the vehicle. Yes, the transfer case is available for inspection upon request. 2.Safety Risks: •The leak could potentially lead to inadequate lubrication within the drivetrain, causing it to malfunction while driving, which might result in loss of control or an accident. 3.Problem Confirmation: •The problem has been confirmed by an authorized Acura dealer, who identified the leak and proposed either a seal replacement or a complete transfer case replacement as potential solutions. 4.Inspections: •The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and is scheduled for a follow-up inspection to ascertain whether the seal replacement resolves the issue. As of now, no inspections have been conducted by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. 5.Warning Signs: •There were no warning lamps or messages indicating a problem. However, I was advised of the leak when the car was on the lift for a tire change, which prompted a further investigation. This issue raises concerns about the potential safety risks not only to myself but to other drivers on the road. I am worried that others with the same vehicle model might experience similar problems, which could lead to dangerous situations if not addressed promptly. Our 2020 MDX we lease has lost electrical 3x since Sep 1. Once while sitting at a stoplight. Twice while turning at intersection. Each time, there was a complete power loss. When the car was moving, it quickly slowed to a stop in the road. In each case, it took a few minutes to get the car restarted due to being startled at what happened. I checked the battery cables, and they are tight. The radio settings were not lost, so I do not think it was a battery connection failure. We are not sure what to do with this as, while there are a lot of similar reports for acuras, there is no consistent diagnosis.

2020 Acura MDX, bought this in February of 2021. Issue with the auto-idle completely turning off the engine, when you pull up to a red light or stop sign and the engine goes into Auto-idle, then go into neutral, sometimes showing the battery sign. The car is completely disabled, have to shut off the engine and restart. This happened about 3 times, the last time was with my 2 young children in the car and people honking at me!!!!! Brought it into Acura, when said it was battery issure and replaced the battery in Sept. 2022. August 2023, brought it in for 2 recalls, once was for the idle engine, they service person said the issue was fixed. October 2023, by car did not restart from auto-idle (AGAIN TWICE in less than a week), brought it in again, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it! Just got my car back, called Acura headquarter, made a complaint!

- #11547089September 28, 2023TIRES, TIRES:TREAD/BELT, TIRES:SIDEWALL
Continental Crosscontact LX Sport 265/45R20 104H Tires have about 33,275 miles on them (rotated regularly) and one of the tires has a huge bump in the tread. The belt has separated from the sidewall. From what I've read, there are recalls on this tire, but not for this particular date that these tires were made. With it being on the front, it makes the steering wheel shake and I'm scared to drive it anywhere except to the tire store.

I bought the car in March 2023 and took the car for maintenance of 5k at Acura dealership at north Orlando and after that the car came never the same. The car is making so much noise skewing and clicking noise every time you turn the streering wheel. The dealership said the noise is from nuts and bolt and they did change it and noise became more loud 2nd time they said it is the front break and they did change it and the noise still the same and more of clicking noise with every tire turns . I do have a video but I could not upload it. Then for 3rd time and car been sitting at dealership for a month now they said this noise is normal and happens with all Acura MDX models. The Loaner I have is an MDX that never makes any noise . The car was running perfectly fine before the maintenance. Now noise and steering wheel 🛞 very loose and does not feel the same as before and you can hear 2 different noises in car one with breaks on and one with car or park and just Turing the steering wheels. So unbelievable that the damaged my car and I barely have mileage on it and changing all of those parts and when they came to a point that they can’t solve the issue they are saying it is a normal noise. Is it in car manual ? Why you changed all those parts to start with if that car and noise were normal? Too many questions and hidden parts for the dealership and Acura manufacture they just know half of the story and only listen to dealerships. I don’t feel safe driving the car with all of those issues and having two kids with me all the time.

While making a very normal commute, my 2019 Acura MDX began running very roughly, slowing rather abruptly. The check engine light began flashing, and several warning messages were displayed on the message center of the vehicle display unit. The vehicle would not accelerate, and would not attain a reasonable speed while in traffic. With the hazard lights on, I was able to move to the side of the road, but it was very difficult as I was unable to exceed 15-20 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for repair. The dealer investigated and found the timing belt had "jumped time" causing the engine management system to set multiple misfire codes, and was described as the cause of the failure. I am aware certain 2018-2019 Acura MDX models were recalled for timing belt issues, but this particular vehicle was determined to be outside of the group of vehicles involved in the current recall. My MDX had 52,600 miles at the time of the incident. It has not had any modifications or repairs to the engine prior to this incident. Acura recommends replacing the timing best at 100,000 miles.

This vehicle has an “integrated” gas cap where the fuel filler door acts as the gas cap. I can’t believe Honda engineering did ANY testing with this system since about 75% of the time when I fuel the vehicle, the nozzle gets stuck in the filler neck & the neck usually comes off the vehicle entirely when attempting to remove the fuel nozzle. This problem has been well documented on Honda/Acura forums for some time and I CANNOT BELIEVE Honda has not issued a recall as this represents a significant safety risk, not to mention potential emissions issues.

We have taken our 2016 Acura MDX to our local dealer three times in the past to complain about noises (clicking and thumping) coming from the front end of the vehicle. Each time the vehicle was under warranty and the response we got from the dealer was "no problem found". Two weeks ago (02Sept2023) we took the Acura MDX to the same local dealer and are told both of the front control arms need to be replaced. Since we are no longer under warranty it would cost us $1559.78 to replace both. And we are also informed that control arms on this vehicle do wear out frequently and they keep a supply on hand to replace the for the many customers that have had the same problem. While we have not had a direct safety problem with this car yet, the car is relatively young and does not have high mileage or rough use. Based on the fact that this Acura dealer has experienced many problems with this vehicles control arms I would like to register the problem with NHTSA to investigate further.

- #11544331September 13, 2023FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving and happened multiple times, vehicle senses phantom objects or nothing at all but hard brakes on its own which also causes the seat belt to tug on abdomen (wife was pregnant at the time, unfortunately had a miscarriage at 14 weeks which could have been a cause). After the second time, the forward facing camera was replaced per Honda/Acura technical support. Once camera was replace vehicle would hard brake on it's own again which lead me to installing a dash cam to have proof which I provided to service to share with their technical support. In response they came back with vehicle is performing as designed and claiming the dash cam can be interfering with the system (BS!!) Since then, my wife refuses to sit in the car and I only drive it one a week for a short errand.

Purchased used vehicle from dealership last week who completed the outstanding recalls prior to picking it up. Vehicle only has ~7800 miles. Stopped in traffic for red light, engine idle turned on after applying brake fully and car completely died...would not turn back on and nothing worked, not even hazards which made it a very dangerous safety issue sitting in the middle of a busy street. Police would not wait for call to AAA for free tow due to current safety issue and had it towed to local towing company.
