(Volkswagen) has issued recall 22V815000, which includes certain 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan LWB, Golf Sportswagen A7, Golf Alltrack, Golf R GP, Audi Q3, Audi A3 Cabriolet, 2019-2020 Jetta NF, Jetta GLI, Golf GTI, Atlas, Golf A7, Audi A3, 2020-2021 Atlas Cross Sport, and 2021 Atlas FL vehicles. This Audi A3 TPMS recall specifically targets a software defect within the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The system may not adequately detect a loss of air pressure if all four tires deflate simultaneously, which is a violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems." The manufacturer recall numbers associated with this action are 45J7 for Audi vehicles and 45J6 and 45J8 for Volkswagen vehicles.

How to Check if Your Vehicle is Affected

Owners of affected vehicles, including those subject to the Audi A3 TPMS recall, were mailed notification letters starting November 18, 2022. If you own a potentially affected vehicle and have not received a letter, you can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298.

Manufacturer's Remedy

To resolve this issue, authorized dealers will update the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) software in affected vehicles. This repair will be performed free of charge to the owner. This software update is intended to ensure the TPMS functions correctly and complies with safety standards.
