This vehicle has tow mirrors that are located way too high for the driver to see over them - I'm 5'10" and my son is 6'0" and neither of us can see over these mirrors. Over the past year I have had multiple close calls because of the very large blind spot created by the tow mirrors on this vehicle. There is also excessive plastic around the mirror that excerbates the problem. It is only a period of time before a serious accident or a pedestrian collision will happen because of this manuracturing/design defect. Very concerned and disappointed. One specific incident was when I was turning onto a road at a slight and looked both ways and pulled out in front a car that was behind the blind spot and going 60 mph. Very close to a major accident.

- #11570956February 9, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH at night, the low beam and high beam headlights were extremely dim. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the high beam headlights were adjusted; however, the failure persisted while driving. The contact's friend inspected the vehicle and informed him that the LED fog lights were not installed on the vehicle; however, the vehicle specifications indicated that the vehicle was designed with LED fog lights. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they were unaware that the LED fog lights were not installed on the vehicle at the factory. The dealer advised the contact that the manufacturer had informed them that the LED fog lights were not installed on the vehicle because they could cause a glare to other drivers when driving with the suspension lifted. The dealer installed the LED fog lights on the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 30 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control engaged, the Lane Keep Assist caused the vehicle to drift outside the lane to the left and to the right continuously and failed to keep the vehicle in the lane. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure occurred due to a crack on the front grill. The contact also stated that the hood molding was causing a sun reflection on his eyes while driving, which affected the visibility of the roadway even while wearing sunglasses. The contact stated that the vehicle design caused the water on the road to splash on the windshield while driving instead of parting the water to the sides, which temporarily reduced the visibility of the roadway. The contact stated that the trims on the windows were inconsistently sealed. The dealer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that they would need the vehicle and User data to repair the vehicle. The contact declined to provide the data to prevent a breach. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, bu

Vibration at lower speeds felt in steering, pedals, driver seat and front passenger seat. Posses danger to operator and other traffic as this vibration could be mistaken for departure warning. Notified Toyota cooperation but they seem eager to close the case.

- #11567656January 24, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, STEERING
On [XXX] I was driving in Connecticut when I realized we had taken the wrong directions. We were following my son’s girlfriend’s iphone which kept changing the directions. When we ended up with an over pass in a parking area I applied my brakes but the brakes didn’t work. I was trying to go left to take an alternate road but couldn’t stop. This kind of thing where the brakes or steering have been happening on and off since we got the truck I believe someone has hacked into it using a car kit is what I found under devices but then it disappeared. It also changes my truck into towing mode which is another thing it does. This is done everyday. I noticed I have no history on my truck. This is because it can be put on and taken off randomly. I believe it is a family members doing this to me. We had a Nissan and they did it to that too. It totaled our new camper. I will have to get USAA TO SEND ME SOME COPIES OF PAPERWORK SINCE SOMEONE KEEPS BREAKING INTO OUR APARTMENT AND STEALING THINGS INCLUDING PAPERWORK. My truck’s windows (all 4) have terrible seals (not tight to window) that are allowing water to enter door. Windows have a jerk motion when wet and lowering. Moisture is present inside the cab on windows. Rear windows are extremely loose and can be a potential safety issue (I have video). Risk can fall on rear passengers because of instability of windows. Repair tech stated in report that there was an issue with windows by reproducing same motions with new trucks on lot (I have video from Toyota tech). Just inspected by dealer. No warning lamps. I have been trying to resolve this with Toyota Corp. with no further details of solution. I have all correspondence.

Engine completely shut off on me while I was driving on the highway. I barely had enough time to pull off the highway. After restarting the engine it had a knock. Had it towed to the dealership and it needed to have the engine rebuilt. I pursued Texas lemon law since they had my vehicle for over 90 days waiting on the repair.

regarding my 2023 Toyota Tundra. The passenger side front window is non-operational, having come off the track and proving impossible to raise. Upon consulting the dealership, it was determined that the Regulator and Motor for the window require replacement. It has come to my attention that this issue is not isolated to my vehicle, as numerous reports on social media platforms highlight a recurring problem with faulty windows in this model. The prevalence of inoperable windows, whether stuck in the up or down position, poses a potential hazard. I urge the NHTSA to investigate and address this matter promptly to ensure the safety of all Toyota Tundra drivers and passengers.

- #11562505December 29, 2023FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was not obtaining the correct fuel mileage. The contact stated that, while tracking the mpg, the vehicle was averaging 15.7 mpg. The difference was approximately twenty percent less than the sticker mpg. The contact stated that the mpg sticker stated that the mpg would be 20 mpg. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased, he was not provided two keys. The contact stated that while his wife was using the key, the key detached and was lost. The chip was still in the fob, and the contact was able to open the vehicle. The contact stated he was concerned about not having an additional key. The contact was unable to obtain the second key for the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who test drove the vehicle and the vehicle was averaging 12.2 miles while driving in the town. The dealer informed the contact that the extra batteries in the vehicle might account for the difference in mpg. The dealer completed a wellness check and informed the contact that the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 50.

- #11561633December 23, 2023FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
When I drive the vehicle for a period of time and use a 1/3 of the fuel in the vehicle and park on non level surface: Meaning the front of the vehicle is pointed up and rear is lower the fuel gauge will register full on vehicle restart. Even if I drive the vehicle around and park it on a level surface and restart the vehicle it still fails to show the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. In addition it will slowly subtract fuel based upon driving that is inline with normal fuel usage: It never registers that you are actually 1/3 lower then indicated on the gas gauge. I have identify two ways to address the issue of the gauge not registering the correct amount of fuel in the tank: 1) Refill the truck with maximum amount of fuel 2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal, let the truck sit for 30 seconds, and then reconnect the negative battery terminal. It will then register the correct amount of fuel in the truck The safety concern is I could run out of gas in unsafe manner on the road.
