What component failed and is it available for inspection? The front driver-side roof seam on my 2022 Toyota Tundra developed corrosion under the paint and eventually opened enough for rainwater to enter the cabin. Water drips directly into the A-pillar area onto the side curtain airbag wiring, squib connector, and padded harness. It also reaches the dashboard and electrical buttons near the steering wheel during rain. The roof seam, A-pillar wiring, interior rust staining, and all affected components remain available for inspection. How was safety put at risk? The A-pillar contains the SRS curtain airbag system, its wiring, and connectors that should never be exposed to moisture. Continuous water intrusion over many months can cause corrosion, increased resistance, short circuits, or damage to the airbag inflator/squib circuit, which may lead to unintended deployment or failure to deploy in a crash. Water reaching the dashboard controls and electrical switches could cause intermittent electrical faults or malfunction of driver controls. These issues present a significant safety risk because the vehicle’s airbag and electrical systems may not function as designed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? Yes. The Toyota dealer has repeatedly observed the active leak, interior rust streaks, and bubbling/corrosion along the roof seam. The water intrusion occurs every time it rains. Has the vehicle been inspected? Yes. Toyota has inspected the truck multiple times, including by a Field Technical Specialist. However, Toyota has been unable to provide complete documentation or photos from the FTS inspection, and the underlying safety issue remains unresolved. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. Warning lamps or messages? No warning lamps appeared. The first symptom was water leaking into the cabin around March 2024, followed by rust streaking inside the A-pillar and exterior bubbling. The issue continues during rainfall.

- #11700381November 19, 2025AIR BAGS, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Multiple safety systems failed simultaneously, including: SRS Airbag System Pre-Collision System Vehicle Stability Control (VSC/TRAC) Advanced Ultrasonic/Sonar System The engine is also subject to Safety Recall 25TA14 (potential loss of motive power). The vehicle is currently located at Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA and is fully available for inspection. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was driving on the 60 freeway with my two small children when all of these safety systems failed at the same time. The truck also began pulling to the right and hesitating during acceleration. With the airbag system, pre-collision system, and stability control disabled, our safety was seriously at risk, especially at freeway speeds. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Crown Toyota advised me not to drive the vehicle and instructed me to have it towed immediately as an emergency. They confirmed the warnings and safety alerts. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by Crown Toyota service technicians. They noted the safety system malfunctions and the active engine recall. Toyota Corporate has opened a repurchase case: #251118002114. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. While driving, the dashboard displayed multiple malfunction warnings: Airbag malfunction Pre-collision system malfunction Vehicle Stability Control malfunction Sonar system malfunction The “Contact Dealer Immediately” message also appeared. These warnings first appeared on November 13, 2025, while I was on the freeway.

I was driving my 2023 Toyota Tundra when the engine shutdown while going 55mph, the speed limit. Truck shutdown as I approached a long, curvy hill, felt like I was in great danger and any vehicles around me. There was no warning, had no idea what was going on. Took vehicle to dealership, after 24 hours I went back to dealership to check on it. Was told they didn’t look at it because they knew the engine was bad, needed replaced. There is a recall for this and was told there is no remedy yet. Also, they say they don’t have a vehicle for me to drive. I paid $65000 cash to have a vehicle to drive and keep me and my grandkids safe, now nothing!

- #11699829November 17, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
When applying the brakes at highway speeds the vehicle shakes violently. If in a turn of going downhill you have to release the brakes so you don’t lose control of the brakes. Started happening at 10,000 miles on a brand new truck. Toyota tells my I have to pay $440 to recondition the rotors. In all my years and many cars and trucks I’ve never had a warped rotor. I don’t ride the brakes and don’t tow anything with this truck. I am baffled at this situation. The service manager said he’s seeing several 2025 Tundras with low mileage rotor warping so this seems to be a design defect.

When I purchased the 2023 tundra trdpro it came from the factory out of alignment. They replaced the stock tires within 4000 miles. Since I the vehicle has required 3 alignments. I run summer and winter tires. I am on my 3rd set of summer tires, 2nd set of winter tires and the truck only has 33000 miles on it. Both wheels have positive camber and my steering wheel is approx 5° off center when wheels are straight. It always pulls to the right. I have not hit potholes or taken off road.

“I own a 2025 Toyota Tundra Platinum. The brake lights do not activate until the brake pedal is nearly halfway depressed. This is a safety defect because drivers behind me are not warned when I’m slowing or braking early. My dealership said ‘that’s the way it is’, but I believe this violates safety standards and puts me at risk. I want this documented and escalated for inspection and repair.”

I’m writing to report a driver’s-door lock malfunction on my 2022 Toyota Tundra and to request goodwill assistance (reimbursement or no-charge repair). VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 38,575 miles Concern: The driver’s door does not lock/unlock using the key fob or interior switch. Manual locking still works. Other doors operate normally. Safety/security impact: The vehicle cannot be reliably secured and the condition may leave the vehicle vulnerable when parked. Troubleshooting performed: Verified other doors work; checked fuses; inspected door-to-body wiring boot; issue appears isolated to the driver-side door lock actuator/latch. Requested resolution: Goodwill coverage for diagnosis and repair (or reimbursement if I proceed with repair now), including parts and labor for the driver-door lock actuator/latch assembly. I’ve been satisfied with the vehicle and would appreciate Toyota’s help resolving this known-type issue just beyond the 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. Please open a case and advise next steps. I can provide service records, videos, and a dealer estimate upon request. Thank you for your assistance. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

October 6th 2025, I was leaving my place of work and started to here a slight banging/knocking sound, the vehicle lost instant power and I the engine quit running, I have taken the vehicle to the Toyota dealer and they have confirmed a internal bearing failure in the engine. The vehicle is not part of the engine recall but appears to be the same issue. The Toyota dealership has agreed that it is still with in the warranty period after review of there regional representative and agreed to replace the engine short block and rebuild the remaining engine components. I towed it to the dealer October 6th and have been given a rough timeline for repairs to be performed roughly around December based on the availability of parts.

Hybrid 2024 Toyota, was accelerating on freeway on ramp when I received a notification of hybrid system malfunction and engine shutdown notice, "pullover". I was not able to use either system as there was no charge on the hybrid system and the hybrid system was not functioning due to the error, and the engine was shutdown. I was put in a situation of having to coast in a location of high vehicle traffic and greater relative speed to the road shoulder until I could safely stop.

The headliner in the truck is falling down. It appears that this is happening to a lot of them due to some faulty velcro. Seam to ve a pretty wide spread issue and is definitely a sadety concern if this happens while driving.

There is an interment issue where the vehicle fails to accelerate from a stop when accelerator is applied. This issue is present in my current vehicle and my previous 2023 tundra. I have brought up concerns to the dealer and manufacturer and am told every time that the concern cannot be duplicated, but I feel that it is going to lead to a crash not only for me but other owners

Just asking for an investigation. Same engines in vehicle year 2023 gas only models have been recalled for safety because the engine locks up while driving causing a this safety issue. My model year is 2023 and is a hybrid but has not been added to the recall. The hybrid should be included in the recall as well since it is the exact same engine. This is a dangerous situation for me and my family as well as others I am on the road with.

Toyota has just extended the engine recall for debris left in it thru the 2024 year model for all non-hybrid Tundra vehicles. This recall makes no sense the Hybrid vehicles have the exact same engine and therefore have the exact same safety issue. The claim they are not being recalled because they can still be powered by the hybrid system, but this is false. If the engine seizes from this debris it will render the vehicle inoperable and cause a safety issue too. Those with the Hybrid who have experienced the failure confirm the vehicle becomes inoperable. When they take it to Toyota if still under warranty they are only offered a short block rebuild and not the long block and turbos as all non-hybrid receive under the recall. Please look into this issue and force Toyota to extend the recall to both Hybrid and Non-Hybrid as they both have the same engine and pose the same safety risk to the driver and other vehicles on the road.

The HVAC climate control system in my 2025 Toyota Tundra Limited malfunctioned while the vehicle was idling. The air conditioning had been set to cool and was operating normally, but without any touch to the controls or any alert, the system switched from blowing cold air to blowing warm/hot air. This caused the cabin temperature to increase rapidly. Because there were no warning lights, notifications, or error messages, there was no indication that the air system had changed. The vehicle continued to show that A/C was on and functioning. The malfunction resulted in the cabin reaching a dangerously high temperature. This caused fatal heat injury to one animal and critical heat injury to another, both of which were inside the vehicle at the time. One is still undergoing medical treatment. This same type of HVAC issue has been reported by other 2024–2025 Toyota Tundra owners in multiple owner discussion groups, particularly related to the vehicle blowing warm air at idle or failing to maintain cabin temperature. This suggests a potential widespread defect, whether software-related or involving the A/C compressor control system. This presents a serious safety risk, especially for: Children Animals Disabled or elderly passengers Anyone unable to immediately exit the vehicle The vehicle remains in our possession and can be inspected. Service interactions with the Toyota dealership are documented and available. Immediate investigation is needed to determine the cause of this HVAC failure and whether a recall or TSB must be issued to prevent future injury or death.

- #11697586November 5, 2025TIRES, SUSPENSION, STEERING
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact purchased the vehicle in January 2023 and had several mechanical and tire related failures with the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was not handling normally. The contact stated that that the steering wheel was constantly turning to the right and needed to manually be returned to center to remain in the intended lane. The contact stated that the failure occurred at various speeds. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure, and that the wear on the tires were normal. The contact stated that the wear was noticeable to the extent that the tread was almost worn on the passenger’s side front tire at 12,000 miles. The contact stated that the tires were the original equipment and were rated at 30,000 miles of service. The OEM tires were Falken Wild Peak A/T 3WA; Tire Size 265/60/R20 112H: DOT 1V40H. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact replaced the original tires with Bridgestone Tires; Tire Size: 265/60/R20; DOT Number: 17XEDHT1. The contact stated that the dealer had mounted the tires and balanced and aligned the steering wheel. The contact stated that the steering failures with the vehicle steering to the right persisted. The contact checked the tires and had taken the vehicle to a tire dealer to check the alignment and the tire condition and was advised that the new tires were showing wear, and that the vehicle was not properly aligned. The vehicle was not repaired. The original dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that no assistance would be provided. The contact also reported failures with the transmission and other vehicle systems, and had a case opened by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 27,142. The Bridgestone tire wear mileage was approximately 10,000.

- #11696854October 31, 2025LANE DEPARTURE: LANE KEEP: STEERING ASSIST
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving 20 - 70 MPH, the steering wheel independently merged onto a back road, pulling the vehicle off the road and onto main roads and highways, with the vehicle merging into the turning lane independently. No warning light was illuminated. A local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the vehicle was working as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and determined not to buy back the vehicle due to the dealer stating that the vehicle was operating as designed. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

the fuel guage on the dashboard shows inccurate infroamtion. I filled up the tank and went out of city. Once I came back home, next morning it was showing full tank. I was unsure about the quantity left, i filled up the tank and it was almost 11Gallon missing but it was showing full even on the gas station. It was fixed after a while but again today, it shows the full tank on dashboard but I saw half last night. I seached up online and it shows so many other people having the same issue. They also put some solutions but none of them worked for 2023 tundra. This could be a great risk if you are on a long route and do not know how much fuel left .

On Wednesday 10/21 at approximately 11:30pm I was traveling on the Clearview Expressway. While changing from the middle last to the left lane at 20mph due to a construction merge with some traffic. When trying to accelerate the truck lost all throttle power and my speed quickly dropped to 12mph before throttle response came back. No noticeable or harsh change of gear for this episode.
