My reverse stopped working, it just shows a black screen when I switch to it. The rest of my entertainment console works, it's only when I put it in reverse that it goes black. I saw that there was a recall issued for 2024 and 2025 Toyota Tundras, but I believe that the 2023 should be included as well. It looks to be a common issue, as I saw 2023 Tundras with a higher trim package also had a recall for the backup camera.

The frame has rusted so badly that the sway bar mount disengaged from the frame. Brought it to a Toyota dealership and confirmed that frame recalls were performed on earlier models with the same issue . However my year did not qualify.

Since Toyota has recalled these engines, they have failed to produce a solution. This engine was recalled due to a safety concern, but yet they have not replaced the engine, nor do they even have a timeline for when it might be replaced. We use our Tundra for long distance towing with a heavy trailer. This has created a situation that is very concerning and my wife and I no longer feel safe in a truck that an engine can just seize in seconds leaving us not only stranded, but potentially in the roadway. The engine just dies, there are no warnings. We have lost a substantial amount of money on this because now the value of our truck has declined, which is not the standard Toyota had promised. Toyota had told all of us that they fixed this problem back in Feb. 2023. My build was a June 2023 model. It should have been safe and been taken care of, but Toyota didn't fix the actual problem back then. Toyota has not stood behind the vehicle or helped out for financial losses.

Recurring throttle lag. At a stoplight or stop sign at a full and complete stop I press down the accelerator and nothing happens for about a second and a half. When it finally does respond, it jumps as if it was struggling to get into gear.

Vehicle stuck in 4WD HI after switching it from 2WD. Would not go back into 2WD. Did all the preventative maintenance including driving in 4WD HI once a month. Dealer claims is a switch outside the powertrain that is getting stuck. Replacement part ordered and will arrive in 4-8 weeks. Dealership saying I’m outside my warranty and part/labor will not be covered. My safety was put at risk d/t not being able to make appropriate turns when driving while truck was stuck in 4WD. No warning lights indicated 4WD system was not working appropriately. Truck would continue to show 4WD no matter what drive system I tired to use. Truck had no issues with 4WD system prior to this incident.

Were were driving, my 2021 Toyota Tundra, just stopped running. No check engine lights had come on until the engine stalled as we coasted to a stop on the side of the road. We had it towed to the Central Maine Motor in Waterville, Maine 04901. Central Maine Motor -Toyota service just got my truck in to a service bay today 1/29/26 and in formed me the failure was due to the fuel pressure module and a fuel pump failure. Toyota has other years of vehicles that they have issues recalls for and my truck has the same fuel system and fuel pump as in those year vehicles, but no recalls for my truck, a 2021 Toyota Tundra built in Sept/Oct of 2020. The outer edges of front tires wearing excessively. They replaced 2 around 20k milage and there are many reports of the same issue from factory alignment and camber. The tire appears to be splitting prematurely.

NHTSA SAFETY RECALL DELAY COMPLAINT Complainant: [XXX] State: Illinois Vehicle: •Year/Make/Model: 2023 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crew Max •VIN: [XXX] •Current Mileage: approx. 16,000 miles Recall Number: Toyota Safety Recall 25TB06 Dealer Holding Vehicle: Romeoville Toyota 684 S. Weber Road Romeoville, IL 60446 ________________________________________ Description of the Safety Issue and Delay I am filing this complaint to report an excessive and unreasonable delay in remedying a safety-related recall on my vehicle. My 2023 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crew Max has been out of service at an authorized Toyota dealership (Romeoville Toyota) since June 18, 2025 due to Toyota Safety Recall 25TB06. As of today, the vehicle has remained unrepaired for 224+ days with no confirmed completion date. Despite repeated inquiries, neither the dealership nor Toyota has provided a definitive timeline for completing the recall repair. While a rental vehicle has been provided, I remain without access to my own truck and have experienced an extended loss of use far exceeding what would be considered reasonable for a safety recall remedy. A manufacturer safety recall is intended to correct a defect within a reasonable period of time. A delay exceeding seven months leaves the consumer without their vehicle and raises concerns about Toyota’s ability to timely and adequately remedy safety defects once a vehicle is removed from service. This prolonged delay undermines the purpose of a safety recall and places an unfair burden on the consumer. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter and intervene to ensure Toyota Motor North America provides a timely and appropriate remedy, including repair completion or alternative relief. Vehicle experienced sudden engine shutdown at highway speed. While traveling at highway speed, the internal combustion engine shut off without warning. The hybrid system temporarily allowed propulsion, which enabled me to move the vehicle out of traffic and off the highway shoulder. After stopping, the vehicle would not restart for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, the vehicle was disabled and would not turn on. After the waiting period, the vehicle restarted and operated normally. No warning lights or messages were present prior to the shutdown. This event created a dangerous situation at highway speed and posed a significant safety risk to myself and my passengers. The vehicle is a 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid (i-FORCE MAX). Since the incident, the vehicle has been driven approximately 10,000 miles without recurrence, but the cause of the shutdown was never identified. I am concerned this event may be related to known engine defects or reliability issues reported for this model year.

When starting up my truck in the morning there is rough idle that cause truck to sputter and sound horrible. It eventually smooths out but I believe the computer needs flashing. When I look online some have a recall for the engine 3UR-FBE / 2018 Toyota tundra, but when I put in my vin # it shows no recall and throws off check engine light Code. Also my radar sensor that it on for cruise control is showing up on dash please contact dealer and flashing. They have replaced this before with recall and now it’s acting up again. Also traction control is lighting up I. The dash as well blinking along with all these codes.
