I submitted my 2005 Toyota Corolla to Priority Toyota in Springfield, VA where they replaced my airbag on 9/05/2019 per the initial recall notice. The airbag light subsequently came back on after installation. When I returned it to the same dealer, they told me it was not related to the recall and that I’d have to pay to get it fixed. I took my vehicle to another certified mechanic for a second opinion. That mechanic determined it is a defect in the recall replacement airbag mechanism installed or the installation itself and advises me to take it back to the recall servicer dealer. Priority of Springfield has refused to honor the recall or acknowledge the defective equipment or improper installation on the 9/05/19 recall and remedy the defective recall equipment or service warranty they performed. The defective airbag replacement installed by the recall dealer Priority of Springfield is defective, inoperable and must be replaced or installation corrected OR be provided new equipment and installation at no charge per the 11/15/19 Safety Recall E04 - For Areas of High Absolute Humidity - UPDATE . I was told by NHTSA when I called to request my vehicle be added to the subsequent recall list for replacement again. It is not in the best interest of consumer safety that owners should be forced to bear the cost of replacing defective recall replacement airbags or Re installation of recall replacement airbags improperly or negligently installed by authorized Toyota dealers. Additionally, my vehicle is subject to Safety Recall E04 - For Areas of High Absolute Humidity - UPDATE published 11/15/2019 applicable to owners of vehicles originally sold in, or currently/previously registered in, areas of High Absolute Humidity, including Alabama and Georgia, both states in which my car was previously registered. I need NHTSA assistance in obtaining compliance by a local Toyota dealer in honoring this recall update pertinent to my vehicle. My 2021 Toyota Corolla, with 3000 miles and less than a year on it, is repeatedly exhibiting a "check gas cap" warning message followed a day or two later by a "check engine, visit your dealer" warning. This has happened twice. I have returned to the dealer once to have the system reset, after which the same sequence of warning messages recurred. This message wipes out my dashboard display and keeps me from using my cruise control and radar distancing feature. I have not yet determined what other safety features are neutralized by this recurring malfunction. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Newly bought vehicle won't start when key is turned in ignition. Problem is a repeat problem and vehicle was repeatedly towed to dealer (Gosch Toyota). Dealer said there is nothing wrong with the car . Dealer admits he can't reproduce the problem and paperwork I've obtained from them indicates they may not have even tried. Car has major safety issue and is unreliable which is an explanation falling on deaf ears at Gosch. So it remains parked in my driveway. I refuse to put anyone in my family into it because of obvious safety issues. Car is totally unreliable if one can't rely on it to work .

Purchased a 2019 toyota corolla from carvana that was delivered 2/26/22. When delivered, driver pointed out front end date that apparently happened "during transport". Vehicle had bad brakes & rotors that I replaced. Vehicle has one door that does not match the rest of the car. The history was disclosed as clean, no accidents. Carvana is refusing to switch the car out and has no record of me asking for it to be switched with an undamaged car. Payments are being made to bridgecrest and are on time despite me telling them I would return the car if they didn't cancel the loan for this defective car.

The touch screen in the bottom right corner is not responsive. Original owner said it gave out just before I purchased from them. The main safety concern is now I am unable to use hands free calling which is the main functionality you need with a Bluetooth set up. From what I can see this is a large problem across online forums with this particular model and dealerships will not replace for less than $1000+ and I feel hands free calling should be a safety priority for Toyota enough to replace the screen.

Since March of 2022 I have noticed a sloshing sound from the driver's side door and both rear doors. The sound continues, especially when I break and when I open the doors. The vehicle has not been in any accident at all. I made an appointment specifically to get that looked at on April 11th, however, the Toyota dealership in Woodbridge, VA completely ignored my request and instead did an oil change, which was not needed, as one had already been done the month before. When I complained they said it would cost $150 to get a diagnosis test done first. From looking at T-SB-0121-20, that is the same issue I am experiencing.

My daughter was driving a 2014 Corolla with just over 100k miles and T-Boned a truck that pulled out in front of her. She was doing 30 mph when she hit the truck and the airbags did not deploy. Unknown damage cost due to it is still under investigation by the opposing insurance company. Lucky, my daughter was not seriously hurt. It appears to be an on-going problem for the Toyota cars with the airbags not deploying properly in a crash but something needs to be done before more people die due to faulty equipment.
