My car is at around 42,000 miles and has had an engine maintenance light on. I take it in and it’s a defective coolant bypass valve issue. The dealership tried to charge me 800 dollars to replace it. It’s an apparent fault on their part since it has been an apparent problem with other toyota corollas with a lawsuit already filed.

I contacted my local Toyota dealership a couple months ago about air bag recall situation and they’ve told me the parts are not ready yet. Then I called just a couple days ago and they said that the wait time will be next year in 2025 about march or may and I asked the person working there if I would to get in a crash and the air bags don’t deploy what would I be able to do and they said you can sue Toyota. I just think next year by March or May is along time especially if I have my wife in the car too.

The contact owns a 2021 Toyota Corolla. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V865000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.

I placed my laptop bag, which weighs less than 15 lbs., on the passenger seat. Despite this, the seatbelt warning system continues to alert me about the seatbelt not being worn. The passenger seat should be able to detect when a human passenger is present. Unfortunately, I have to buckle the seatbelt to turn off the warning light and chime, even though there is no human passenger or item weighing more than 15 lbs.

I own a 2016 Toyota Corolla with 35000 miles. My extended warranty expired in January 2024. In the the last few months my Toyota developed a “rattle” or noise, primarily on the right side at slow speeds and slow turns. I took the car to a well respected and nearby repair facility for an oil change and had them look at the noise. They found that the control arm bushings had stress cracks and the sway bar end links and mount bushings were leaking. I had the repairs done. The defective parts are documented with photos in the electronic version of the repair invoice. The noise came back in a day. The next step would be replacing the struts. The repair shop found no visible wear or damage to the struts. I already spent $2400 on repairs. The noise remains. The damage to the parts most likely started long before the warranty expired in January. I found a Technical Service Bulletin describing the repair for this noise issue. The repair described specifies replacing the control arms. I did that in the above described repair. There are many upset consumers complaining in Internet forums about the same problem in 2014-2019 Toyota Corolla’s. I contacted Toyota customer service by email. They told me there was nothing they could do about the problem since the warranty expired 5 years after purchasing the car. I told them I have an 8 year extended warranty. They insisted that there was no 8 year warranty. I offered to send them proof. I have the same problem as shown below. I replaced the control arms and stabilizer bar links. They appeared to be failing. There are many more pages on the internet with the same problem. I reported this to Toyota. Coolant Bypass Valve seems to have an issue at 60k miles which seems to happen to many people at mileage even lower than mine sometimes! My dad had this issue on his 2021 Corolla at 50k miles.

Unknown - The airbag light has been on for a while. Check engine light is also on, and after a few repairs/replacements of diagnosed issues the light remains. A Texas vehicle inspection report shows a P0420 fault code that will not go away, as well as a P0741 fault code about a torque converter clutch circuit underperforming or is stuck/off. I have a technical service bulletin from the inspection station that reads as follows: 10051865 Date: 04/16/2013 Toyota: In a collision, to help reduce injuries, with seat belt pre=tensioner and supplemental restraint systems (srs), it's possible that the devices may or may not perform as expected with unintended deployment.

After hitting 45k miles my engine light turned on and required a coolant bypass valve replacement. This issue has occurred for all Toyota Corolla drivers and rav4 drivers I have came in contact with. This issue should be resolved my car is only 3 years old and should not require pricey engine repairs.

"Engine Maintenance Required See Dealer" Message on Dash Display Engine Coolant Bypass Valve I see this incident repeated for the recent Corolla SE and RAV 4 multiple times with no recall/resolution other than Toyota customers should be prepared to spend close to $750 to fix and replace this part that only takes about 20 minutes to be replaced. This is not new to Toyota. This a rip off. A lot money was paid for the car. Went to dealer less than a year ago and purchased a 2020 SE with a $23,323 price tag. Including dealer fees, finance charges and extended warranties the total price comes to $39,000+. I feel cheated as a customer. A practically new car comes with a defective part and it is not covered by warranty?? Come on. I've trusted and recommended Toyota for years. Do you no longer stand by your company name? Need a better resolution. Please.

- #11595879June 22, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On June 15, a message appeared on the multi-informational panel that the pre-collision system was unavailable. An orange warning symbol also appeared on the dash. Car was repaired a at Kendall, Toyota, 10943 S. Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33156 in Kendall, Florida. The Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor was replaced. The unit itself cost $843 and replacement labor was $350. Like other Toyota radar sensors, I believe this one has design defects. It is a safety issue. I assume that many people will not replace it. The message on the panel does not say the unit needs replacement. I retained the faulty unit and it is available for inspection. It is Toyota part #88210-07010. There are no signs of damage that I could see. The unit has not been open and I have put it in a baggie. It has not been inspected by anyone. The new part has the same part number. There were no prior warnings or symptoms.

we took our corolla to the San Luis Obispo toyota dealership for replacement of fuel pump per national recall of that part. Since then whenever we park the car on an incline we can strongly smell gas fumes in the cabin. When we took it back stating the problem they took it in but did not touch anything on the car (there were items on the back seat they would need to remove I order to get to the gas tank that contains the fuel pump.) When we went in the invoice was marked "call after five" in pencil

Engine Coolant Bypass Valve faulty. Charged $176.95 for the dealer to diagnose what is already known issue. The dealer wanted $663 to replace the part. Toyota knows about this issue yet acts like they had to perform $176 diagnose. The car never blew any codes CIL and they say that this particular part doesnt cause a code but had to use a " special" diagnose tool.
