All safety sensors appear to be out of service. Navigation is stuck at one location and is not working. All cameras, including backup, are out of operation (only shows dark screen). Back up sensor does not work. This issue has been ongoing for 1 month on a brand new vehicle. Tesla service center has no ETA on resolution. Service appointment has already been pushed back to next year (Jan 2025).

Here is my draft: Vehicle Information: • Make: Tesla • Model: Model Y • Year: 2025 Description of the Problem: After a software update pushed by Tesla, the AP4 computer in my 2024 Tesla Model Y shorted out, causing a complete failure of all systems controlled by this computer. The following safety-critical and driver-assist features have become non-functional: 1.Cruise Control (adaptive or otherwise) 2.Forward Collision Warning 3.Lane Departure Warning 4.Lane Keeping Assistance 5.Blind Spot Warning 6.Parking Collision Warning 7.Full Self-Driving and Auto Park features 8.Cameras required for Autopilot functionality Additionally, because the GPS system has failed, the vehicle’s Navigation system is inoperable. This impacts Tesla’s unique route planning feature that sets up Supercharger stops during long journeys. Without a functioning navigation system, I cannot properly plan my travel or locate charging stations, which severely affects the usability of the vehicle. Safety Concerns: The failure of these systems, especially safety features like forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, and blind spot monitoring, puts both the driver and others on the road at risk. Losing access to safety-critical functions after an update is unacceptable and poses a serious danger to vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. Incident Details: • The issue occurred immediately following a software update. • Tesla pushed the update remotely without providing any warning or indication of potential risks. • The failure appears to be related to a hardware short in the AP4 computer, directly caused or exacerbated by the update. Desired Outcome: • A thorough investigation into Tesla’s software update process and its effect on vehicle hardware and safety systems. • A resolution that prevents similar failures in other vehicles and ensures system updates do not compromise vehicle safety or critical functionality. Quality control for Tesla software updat

Tesla has told me the AP4 computer has failed in my car which has resulted in them having to replace it. I had this issue start right around December 7, 2024. I scheduled the soonest appointment available for December 24, 2024 however Tesla contacted me and moved my appointment because they stated that the part was unavailable at this time and should be delivered by January 24, 2025. Not offering me a rental or anything on my brand new 2025 Tesla. It has just under 1,000 miles on it and have the car since November 8, 2024. This issue impacts: emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep/centering, assisting with parking, automatic high beams and wipers, cruise control/ adaptive cruise control, Vehicles built in GPS to be stuck at one location every time, has made my touchscreen not automatically brighten or dim, my auto dimming mirrors be too dim in most driving conditions, constantly fail to install system improvements and safety updates, and because my vehicle keeps trying to do this, it has caused increased battery drain as well. This has increased the safety risk of my vehicle tremendously. Tesla has not seemed to publicly acknowledge the issue yet either.

All cameras are not working anymore including back up camera. Tesla acknowledged the issue and stated that the Computer needs to be replaced and a lot of cars have similar issues.

Internal computer failed on two occasions in first 3 months of ownership. The internal computer controls nearly all safety features related to visibility and navigation. This includes failure of the backup cameras, lane change cameras, adaptive cruise, blind spot assist, and other driver assist safety features. Without these functioning systems the vehicle immediately becomes unsafe to drive. This failure occurred at 56 miles on the odometer, and the again +/- 2 months later at about 3000 miles.

Front suspension axel system failed two bolts fell off left wheel arm causing me to lose control of vehicle. I was in the vehicle with my children I was driving out my mothers driveway less than 5mph when the incident occurred I do not even want to imagine what could have happened if I was driving the vehicle on a high way or at a high speed. Tesla representatives I have spoke to over the phone have said them selves this is common and I have read multiple articles online this is a safety issue if this happens on a highway this would and could cause fatalities. The vehicle did not prompt any warnings or messages. Prior to this incident occurring I reached out to Tesla because vehicle had been making a clicking noise and the soonest appointment they had available was not until January. The vehicle has been towed to Tesla Van Nuys CA and two different tow truck companies did not want to be involved so Tesla road side had to do the tow all 3 tow truck drivers agreed this is definitely a safety issue and common issue with TESLA this needs to be recalled.

I had my computer replaced (AP4) on the Model Y. After a software update around Nov 13, my computer glitched. The car was drivable, but no functionality (cameras, navigation. Etc). After the computer was replaced it seems fine. Just wanted to report after the fact. Thanks

The contact owns a 2024 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH through a light road mist with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised Mode engaged, a message that the FSD Supervised Mode was running on Degraded Mode due to climatic conditions was displayed. Additionally, an audible warning advising to take over immediately because the FSD was disengaged was sounded. The contact was able to take control of the vehicle and continued driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving in inclement and rainy weather. Additionally, the contact stated while driving with FSD Supervised Mode and approaching a stopped vehicle, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact took control and was able to stop the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

On 12/13/24 after a software update my rear , front and side cameras stopped working. This includes blind spot cameras, and side turn signals. In addition the side mirrors are tiny because the car was designed to use cameras. The back window also has very low visibility. Tesla has confirmed that the car needs a new computer for all cameras and software navigation. The replacement computers are on back order and have scheduled a service replacement in six weeks time. In the meantime, they refuse to provide a loaner car. This car is brand new with only two months worth of usage. They say the car is drive able, but without the main safety cameras I don’t feel safe, the aesthetic of the car was designed to have working cameras. It is very hard to use the tiny side view mirrors and look out the tilted rear window. This is a commuter car, driving over 90 miles on highway per day. I am concerned for safety issues.

All of the cameras on the vehicle are no longer working after the latest update. This means all sensors (even as simple as windshield wipers) do not work. All driver safety assistance does not work.

Was driving in traffic and when the cars were coming to a stop I was putting my foot on the break to prepare for a stop but it kept creeping forward and I’m pushing down the breaks as hard as I could but nothing. It ended up hitting the big rig in front of me. The mode of my breaks is on hold it’s always been on hold I even tried to push the parking button but it would not budge, continued forward the collision stopped the car
