SummaryInformation: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A.

SummaryConcerns: Wire harness for rear left radiator fan Information: There is a possibility that the electric wire harness for the left rear radiator fan in the engine compartment is touching a heat guide plate made of carbon fiber on the affected vehicles. If the wire harness is touching, relative movements can cause visible damage to the wire harness or the insulation on individual lines of the wire harness. Progressive damage to the wire harness can cause the radiator fan to stop working and an electric shunt circuit to the low-resistance heat guide plate cannot be ruled out. This electric shunt circuit can cause the vehicle to go on fire even a long time after stopping the vehicle.

SummaryDuring hard cornering maneuvers, a rhythmic clicking noise may be emitted from the rear axle hubs. This noise is a non-hazardous, non-destructive characteristic of the vehicle. The root cause is the relative movement of the wheel and brake rotor against the 5 drive pins of wheel hub. This tiny amount of movement produces vibrations that are propagated through the rigid suspension joints and carbon fiber reinforced structure of the vehicle. Improper wheel nut tightening or trace amounts of lubricants, debris and corrosion between the hub, brake rotor and wheel all can facilitate this movement. Procedure: If the clicking sound becomes unacceptable to the customer, repair actions may be attempted that may provide at least a temporary solution. These should be implemented in two successive scopes depending on severity and reoccurrence.
