Hello I was driving on the highway yesterday when my transmission failed. The car stopped accelerating and would not increase speed despite my foot being on the gas. I was hit several times before navigating to the median. If not for me being calm under pressure my life and the lives of other motorists were at risk. This is unacceptable.

POWER TRAIN
Transmission (CVT) seems to be slipping between or not wanting to change gears. The car will shake, judder, stall during acceleration. If I needed to accelerate suddenly, The car would stall and judder potentially causing an accident. I have a service appointment scheduled with a dealer to investigate. The vehicle has NOT been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There there no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issue first appeared 3/23/23

The contact owned a 2014 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that his daughter had veered off the road while driving at 40 MPH. As she attempted to correct the vehicle, the vehicle rolled over several times and landed in a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. The fire department and ambulance arrived at the scene and his daughter was taken to the hospital. The contact was informed that police were not needed at the scene; therefore, a police report was not filed. The contact's daughter was treated at the hospital for both neck and head trauma as well as injuries to her left leg, left wrist, and left middle finger. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard but was later towed to an inspection station by his insurance where it was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 106,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle had been emitting a loud noise coming from the front-end and underneath the vehicle whenever the vehicle was started. While attempting to accelerate, the transmission was slipping. The vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The failure occurred intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The contact was referred to the dealer for warranty assistance. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The failure persisted and recurred more frequently. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a case. The manufacturer confirmed that the vehicle was included in an Extended Warranty Program. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000.

While driving RPM needle started going up and down and car stopped accelerating. Had car towed to repair shop to be told the transmission is bad. This could easily have caused an accident. Nissan needs to issue a recall and replace these. All the previous complaints shows an obvious problem.

The check engine light keeps coming on with a P0101 indication Mass or Volume Air Flow Curcuit Range/ Performance Problem. The filter was changes, the Mass Air Flow Sensor was changes, and the PCV valve was changed but the light keeps coming on. The vehicle also will not accelerate as fast and sometimes will not go over a certain speed. The vehicle sometimes startes to rolls backwards when in drive when idling. The vehicle also shakes when slowing down from a higher speed i.e. when you are on the freeway and then have to slow to lower speeds no matter how much distance you give. I have almost been rear ended and run backwards at the light because the vehicle goes backwards then goes forward. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR 2014 NISSIAN OWNERS.

While driving on the highway and when I try to accelerate in my Nissan Sentra, I've noticed that my transmission was starting to jerk. Because of this, I took my Nissan Sentra to a Nissan service center to get it inspected. The mechanic informed me that my transmission is faulty. I purchased my car in 2014 and only have 68,000 miles on it so I was shocked that my transmission is already having issues. Once I started to research Nissan Sentra CVT transmissions online, I noticed that there were numerous complainants from many consumers regarding this CVT transmission. I was told by the mechanic that I had to replace and fully pay for the transmission which costs $6,500 and Nissan Corporate was not going to help in anyway. This is unacceptable that Nissan is selling cars with faulty parts knowing that they will have to be repaired or replaced sooner than anyone can anticipate. It's also very dangerous to drive on these transmissions as they can breakdown any moment, potentially leading to a car accident and bodily injuries. Any Nissan car with this faulty transmission should be recalled. I currently have a 2014 transmission Sentra SV. I am currently in need of a transmission. This would be the 2nd transmission. Nissan corporate is stating that there is nothing that they can do for me they are very unprofessional and unapologetic on the issue that they have with their transmission. I I have contacted the head quarters to see if they could at least pay for half of the cost and the super Carl was very rude and stated that he was confused on what I thought that he could do. He also advise that that he was unaware of any issues with a 2014 Nissan Sentra. I advise that this was very funny since there was a law suit again Nissan because of this exact same issue. I am very disappointment in how things are going. I personally don’t have the money to get a new car nor buy a new transmission I think that since has been a knee issue Nissan should help pay or either pay for all services with the transmission

My Nissan Sentra burst into flames on July 27,2022-not sure why this occurred; the car was last serviced before this incident on June 17, 2022-the car's Compressor/AC were replaced. I had just parked the car at a hotel when the fire began. The only inspection was from a fire marshal and the insurance company that car was a complete loss. There was no warning when this happened and had I had a full tank of gasoline this would have gravely injured me. The car had seven years of meticulous upkeep so this catastrophe was totally unexpected. The autos parked on either side of me suffered serious damage as well.

I driving but running down and my engineer light show up Can't moves Can't put the steering...I tried put button off and on for running but not..i praying God,It running to my apartment [XXX].And it death right on road apartment..The morning i tried to running to dealer car check it..They said Gearbox death the car need change .I said I will running back to my apartment and call let your guy know because my car just: 66.080 miles. it still has warranty engineer. please check help me early. Daughter described pushing break to the bottom /or floor boards while the car slowly began to slow. Yes, the vehicle is currently available for inspection. An impact occurred to daughter which caused bruising and duress. Another vehicle was struck. No, the problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service ctr. No. None that my daughter reported. I had driven the vehicle a few days prior and noticed nothing unusual upon breaking.

When driving one day my car began to shift into higher and lower gears on its own. I began experiencing my car shifting and losing power randomly while driving. I brought my car to a nissan dealer and was informed that my car was one of many with a faulty CVT Transmission. My car is 6 months and 4,000 miles past the warranty so they cant help me, but im hoping you can help others before someone is killed by their defective car.

The car was having problems accelerating, and then would also drop quickly in mph while driving; both situations are really dangers to myself as the driver, my passengers as well as others on the road. I brought the Sentra to the dealership where I always get it serviced ( no warning lamps on). Upon inspection, I was told the transmission was failing, on an 8 yr old car with only 53k miles on it.
