'Service CVT Power Reduced' - I have been getting this warning on and off for almost a year now. It seems to come on after the vehicle has been driving for about 30 minutes. The dealership claims they can only get a code when the warning is currently showing. And I have yet to be able to get it there while it is actively showing. I've gone there as soon as the following day and am told the codes are not stored. But I have heard otherwise. I am worried it is transmission related and I am going to go past my 60,000 mile warranty, which I am currently under. When the car is turned off for at least 5-10 minutes it seems to clear. But the issue seems to be happening more frequently. Weather does not seem to he a factor. I am in a nissan social media page and a lot of people seem to have the same issue with this year. Most people are told the same thing. A lot of others say it is the valve body or have had to have transmissions replaced.

I have two major safety concerns for my 2021 Nissan Rogue. 1) FAILED REAR DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE: I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 68,000 miles. The rear driver AND passenger side door lock actuator failed, causing the rear doors to no longer lock or unlock electronically using either the key fob or the interior power door lock switch. The door must now be operated manually from the inside, no one can freely open the doors from the outside. I have to crawl in the backseat to open the doors. This creates a safety concern because, in an emergency, a rear passenger may not be able to quickly exit the vehicle if the door cannot be unlocked electronically. This failure affects a rear passenger door and could delay a child's or other passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency if the electronic lock cannot be operated. It also creates a vehicle security concern because the door does not lock properly. I have found multiple reports from other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners describing the same rear door lock actuator failure at similar mileage. This appears to be more than an isolated incident. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident, and the failure occurred during normal use. 2) FAILED EGR VALVE: The EGR cooler has failed internally and is allowing engine coolant into the combustion chambers. The vehicle experienced a sudden engine malfunction related to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system failure. The diagnostic trouble code was P0401 –and was diagnosed with an EGR cooler failure causing coolant to leak into the combustion chambers. While driving, the vehicle displayed “Engine Malfunction-Power Reduced-Service Now.” The car went into reduced power mode, significantly limiting acceleration and normal vehicle operation, creating dangerous driving conditions. A sudden reduction in engine power on a highway or in traffic presents a significant safety hazard. Please investigate a recall.

Engine loss of power, exhaust producing white/gray smoke from tail pipe. Was stopped at stop light, pressed accelerator when light turned green. As I proceeded through the busy intersection, without warning, the engine lost power. As traffic was speeding up I was decelerating in front of a large tractor-trailer that nearly rear-ended me. Have not taken SUV to dealership or service center yet. No inspection has been completed. No warning, messages, or other symptoms appeared prior to the failure. The ADAS would shut off by itself.

The contact owned a 2024 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle accelerated inadvertently, and the speedometer increased to 112 MPH. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact swerved to avoid other vehicles, and the vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and rolled over approximately 10 times. The air bags deployed as needed. The contact noticed fumes before bystanders immediately assisted the contact out of the vehicle and advised the contact that the engine would catch on fire. The vehicle caught on fire. No further information was available. A Police report was filed. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact sustained fractured right ribs number five and seven, a fractured lumbar spine L1, bruises, lacerations, and soreness on the left and right sides of the groin with more significant injury on the left side, and a seat belt mark on the right shoulder. The contact received medical assistance. The vehicle was destroyed but the contact was awaiting additional information from the insurance company. The dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was filed, and the manufacturer persistently inquired about the location of the vehicle. The contact informed the manufacturer that she was recovering from the severe injuries and did not have further information. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

In XXX my engine turned off while I was on the highway. I went to star nissan in [XXX] and they changed the turbo hose. On XXX I got a check engine light. After 3 days the dealership said I needed a new turbocharger and the repair would cost $4100. I was told I was 9000 miles over my warranty. I currently have 69000 miles on my 2023 nissan rogue. According to the incomplete recall, engine bearings and low oil pressure could have caused my turbocharger to fail. The extended 10 year 120k mile warranty is not being honored by star nissan in bayside new york. I am not being told the diagnostics codes. I was told to either pay the $4100 or pick the car up. This engine almost killed me on the highway. Now that the engine fails again i'm being denied the repair. I am being told the turbocharger is not part of the long block, eventhough the recall clearly afects the turbocharged engine. Re: Formal Demand for Repurchase or Replacement Under Utah Law and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act Vehicle: 2023 Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 104732 To Whom It May Concern: I am the owner of a 2023 Nissan Rogue and am writing to formally demand that Nissan North America, Inc. resolve a serious and ongoing defect affecting my vehicle by repurchasing the vehicle, replacing it with a comparable new vehicle, or otherwise providing an appropriate remedy. The vehicle has experienced a substantial defect involving the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Nissan replaced the original CVT under the manufacturer's warranty at no cost to me. However, immediately following that replacement, the replacement transmission began exhibiting serious defects, including seizing, repeated stalling while driving, and the appearance of electrical fault codes. The vehicle continues to stall unexpectedly, creating an unreasonable safety risk for me, my passengers, and other motorists. A vehicle that loses propulsion while in traffic cannot reasonably be considered safe, reliable, or fit for its intended purpose. Despite Nissan's opportunity to repair this defect, the problems remain unresolved. Replacing one defective transmission with another defective transmission has not corrected the underlying issue. These defects substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, and safety. I have complied with Nissan's warranty requirements by presenting the vehicle to authorized Nissan dealerships for diagnosis and repair. Nissan has been afforded a reasonable opportunity to repair the vehicle but has been unable to provide a permanent remedy. Accordingly, I believe I may be entitled to relief under applicable Utah law governing warranty obligations and defective new motor vehicles, as well as under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312, which provides consumers with remedies when a manufacturer fails to honor its written warranty obligations. NHTSA 22V-024, R21B90 Original case #11722884 Dealership, Stelly Nissan of Yorktown Heights, lied about the recall eligibility of my vehicle on March 5th, 2026. When I researched my own service records, 2014 Nissan Rogue VIN is actively included in Recall 22V-024 for the electrical connector fluid-wicking defect. The franchise dealership misinformed me regarding my vehicle's eligibility and failed to physically perform the mandatory wire harness remedy. They subsequently bypassed federal compliance by illegally marking the safety recall as closed or completed in the system without executing the physical repair. I have the physical invoice dated 11/25/2022, 0.00 parts/labor and visual inspection only, which contradicts what the recall procedure was defined as. Because the dealership skipped this mandatory safety remedy, the unaddressed fluid-wicking defect has now caused severe, cascading electrical system failures across multiple dashboard components. The vehicle remains an active electrical fire hazard as described in the original 22V-024 defect report. I am filing this new complaint specifically to report Dealer Recall Non-Compliance and Enforcement Violation. I request that NHTSA compel the manufacturer to execute the physical recall remedy immediately to mitigate the fire risk. As a matter of course, it is not currently a possibility to work with either the dealership, who has ceased communication with me, or Nissan Consumer Affairs who blatantly ignored that the recall was not performed and cited it as closed, a violation of Federal Law. Vehicle has been at dealership since 3/6/2026 and I have a large collection of supporting evidence that dealership has refused to comply with NYS DMV and NYS AG requests for mediation. Patterns examined at same dealership, case-in-point, suggest that this needs to be examined further and according to the law, not via a private consumer.

Rear Window shatter spontaneously while parked for 6 hours in a secured parking lot. Rear window could have shattered while driving which could easily startle the driver and cause an accident. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue with rear windows shattering on their own. "[XXX], et al. v. I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2022 Nissan Rogue equipped with the 1.5L engine. While driving in normal traffic, my vehicle suddenly displayed an "Engine Malfunction" warning with no prior indication of an engine problem. Immediately after the warning appeared, the vehicle rapidly lost power and could no longer maintain the speed of surrounding traffic. I had very limited ability to accelerate or safely maneuver, creating a significant risk of being struck from behind or becoming stranded in an active travel lane. There was no advance warning that a catastrophic engine failure was imminent. The vehicle ultimately became inoperable and was towed to an authorized Nissan dealership. The dealership diagnosed the engine with coolant leaking into the cylinders and determined that replacement of the engine assembly, turbocharger, and catalytic converter was required at an estimated cost exceeding $10,000. My vehicle had previously experienced engine-related concerns and was included in Recall Campaign R25D1. That recall was completed, but less than 30 days later the engine failed catastrophically. Based on this sequence of events, I am concerned that the existing recall may not identify or address all engine conditions that can result in sudden loss of motive power and catastrophic engine failure. I have since learned of numerous publicly reported complaints from other owners describing similar failures involving coolant intrusion, sudden loss of power, and complete engine replacement in 2022 Nissan Rogue vehicles equipped with this engine. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether these engine failures represent a broader safety defect and whether additional corrective action is necessary to protect the driving public.

The right front quick strut coil spring on our 2014 Nissan Rogue is broken. I called Nissan to ask if they would cover the repair because Rogues from 2014-2016 suffered this defect because the anti-corrosion coating was not done correctly. Nissan said our model was not covered by the recall. The broken spring was discovered during the yearly inspection, and the shop that did the inspection quoted us $840 plus tax to replace both front coil springs. I have part of the broken spring and will keep the other half once the repair is done if you need it.

Formal complaint against Nissan North America regarding premature CVT transmission failure on a 2016 Nissan Rogue (VIN: [XXX], Case #XXX, XXX with under 54,000 original miles. During a routine check-up, an independent mechanic scanned the vehicle and found hard codes P17F0 and P17S0, indicating severe internal CVT failure and judder defects. Following their advice, I brought the vehicle to Hudson Nissan (Jersey City, NJ) for official diagnosis. The dealer charged a $219.20 diagnostic fee and confirmed total internal failure of the CVT, quoting $7,829.88 plus taxes to replace it. On XXX, Nissan Executive Level denied my goodwill request, claiming the warranty expired and they "did not know the service history since 2019." I completely reject this. I possess physical, dated service receipts from 2019 to 2026 proving the car was meticulously maintained (oil changes, alignments, fluid checks) at certified shops. I am fully prepared to upload this complete history to the BBB portal. A transmission failure at under 54k miles is unacceptable and points directly to an inherent manufacturing defect in Nissan’s Jatco CVT8 systems, which is well-documented and the subject of major federal scrutiny and class-action lawsuits (e.g., XXX v. Nissan North America). Hiding behind a chronological warranty window to evade responsibility for a known defective part on a low-mileage, well-maintained vehicle is bad-faith customer service. Desired Resolution: I demand a formal re-review of Case #XXX by Nissan’s corporate dispute team. Nissan must provide 100% financial coverage for the CVT transmission replacement at an authorized dealer and full reimbursement of the $219.20 diagnostic fee. I will upload all 2019-2026 maintenance records the moment this file opens. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
