Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2016 CX-5 vehicles. The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) may fail while driving.
Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2018-2019 CX-5, Mazda6, and 2019 Mazda3 vehicles. A software error in the powertrain control module (PCM) may cause the engine to stall.
Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2018 Mazda CX-5 vehicles. In the event of a side impact or rollover crash, the side curtain air bags may not properly unfold during deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2017 CX-5 vehicles equipped with an accessory trailer hitch wiring harness. This harness may be routed such that there is insufficient clearance between the harness and the exhaust muffler, allowing the wiring harness to contact the muffler.
The vehicle exhibits a repeatable low-speed driveline-related problem consisting of pronounced clicking or clunking from the driver-front area, fore-and-aft jerking, and harsh engagement during deceleration and light on/off-throttle transitions, particularly around 15–17 mph; the behavior can become significantly worse over rough or uneven terrain. The exact failed component or system has not yet been identified. The vehicle is still essentially new, with fewer than 5,000 miles, and has not yet reached its first scheduled service interval, so it has not yet been formally inspected for this condition. No warning lamp or diagnostic message has appeared. Other owners online have described a similar low-speed clunking and jerking phenomenon, and Mazda has issued at least one prior transmission-related TSB addressing somewhat similar harsh shift behavior, although that bulletin does not appear to apply to this vehicle or this exact symptom. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The concern presents a potential safety risk because the vehicle can unexpectedly jerk, lurch, or abruptly change driveline load during ordinary low-speed driving, which can make accelerator response and vehicle speed less predictable in traffic, parking lots, intersections, or on uneven surfaces. The symptoms began within the first few thousand miles and remain repeatable.

The vehicle was brought to Mazda three times for the same brake-related concern. The issue occurred during braking and has not been resolved despite inspections and repair attempts.” If you’re listing each visit, do it like “Visit 1: Customer reported brake noise. Dealer inspected. Visit 2: Same concern returned, vehicle brought back for diagnosis and repair. Visit 3: Brake-related issue reported again. Problem continued.” That keeps it clean and close to the service records. And it at a dealer ship for the 4 time already , and they keep saying it the brakes but now I have to pay for the fix when I was complaining about well under wa

The Mazda cx5 2026 I purchased has a white film behind both headlights. Mazda refuses to replace headlights stating this is normal. However it is a manufacturing defect. This is a structural problem from outgassing causing a permanent haze on inside of each lens which is considered to be a night visibility hazard. I bought vehicle second week in XXX.Took it back to service dept on XXX. They said no to replacement . Contacted corporate XXX to no avail. Same story. Mazda will no replace even though under full warranty. contacted attorney general and he said to make report here. In process of retaining lawyer because at this point I don’t know what else to do. I expect perfect vehicle for my money plus expect Mazda to be honest and do the right thing. Never had anything like this happen in my life buying a new car. Thank You. We purchased a certified pre-owned Mazda CX-5 from Wellesley Mazda in [XXX] on XXX. As soon as we got home and tried to exit the vehicle, we noticed that the driver's seatbelt was not releasing. Since then, we have noticed that the seat belt has not latched or unlatched properly. Our concern is that a manufacturer-certified vehicle was delivered to a consumer with an intermittently failing primary locking restraint mechanism. There should have been a 160-point inspection done before this car was delivered in order for it to be considered pre-owned. This car is driven by our son who has been put at risk by a faulty restraint device. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My CX-5 has 25,000 miles and recently the a/c failed culminating in a distinct chemical smell in the cabin. The issue was identified as a leaking/failed evaporator which apparently is located behind the dashboard and in turn “dump” the leaking refrigerant into the cabin! The total cost of repair due to the location of the evaporator is between $3000-$4500 in my area, seems a high cost to be poisoned by a vehicle that only has 25,000 miles on the clock!
