NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint Update | VIN: [XXX] | 10/7/26 | Owner: [XXX] Over the past three weeks I have experienced continuous traction battery fault warnings on my Jaguar I-Pace. As of approximately one week ago these faults are now accompanied by a "High Voltage System Fault Detected" warning. I had been told by a Jaguar tech that the BECM (Battery Energy Control Module) is supposed to reset and wipe these codes after "4 cycles" of the car turning on and off, so the daily faults have been very concerning. Today the vehicle produced a severe physical shudder and automatically reduced charge capacity from 80% to 72% — a new and concerning development; i'd also like to note that Jaguar's battery warranty explicitly calls a battery defective at 70%. Where some more severe cases were initially reduced to 72% charge by the Jaguar dealerships, my car was set to 80% until today. I have photographed each fault occurrence for documentation. I contacted Jaguar Orlando service to speak with a technician or manager regarding these escalating faults. After a five-minute hold I was informed they have not serviced this vehicle in two years and that someone would call me back. No callback has been received. JLR/Morley's repurchase offer, submitted after years of delay and multiple document requests, does not reflect the recall-driven depreciation this vehicle has suffered. I have not accepted it and they have once again "closed my case" which i hope is NOT being reported to NHTSA. I did not "decline", I simply did not accept to play into their coercive tactics. These are not intermittent or minor issues. This vehicle presents an active, documented, and worsening safety risk as it deteriorates on the street due to the harsh Florida climate. I am requesting escalation to an ODI investigator. Contact: [XXX] | [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own a 2019 Jaguar I-PACE that is currently subject to a battery-related safety recall issued by the manufacturer. The defect involves the high-voltage battery system, which poses a potential fire risk and renders the vehicle unsafe to operate. Due to this recall, I have been advised that the vehicle is not safe to drive and should not be used. As a result, the vehicle is effectively unusable. This creates a safety concern because the battery defect presents a risk of thermal events, including fire, even when the vehicle is parked. The issue has been acknowledged by Jaguar Land Rover through the official recall. The vehicle has not been repaired because a complete and adequate remedy has not been made available. Jaguar Land Rover has inspected and reviewed the situation and has offered a buyback; however, the proposed resolution would leave me with approximately $10,000 in out-of-pocket financial loss despite the defect being manufacturer-related. There were no prior warning indicators that would have allowed me to prevent this issue. The problem became known upon notification of the recall. This situation has resulted in ongoing financial harm, as I am required to continue making payments on a vehicle that cannot be safely operated due to a manufacturer defect. The defective component (high-voltage battery system) is available for inspection upon request

Jlr will not complete buyback recall at a fair price. Being cheated due to jlr dragging feet. It has been a year since fires and problem identified. No resolution.

The vehicle has experienced the Traction Battery Fault three times, which is the warning signal provided when there is a main battery fault situation. During the latest incident, the warning appeared and shortly afterward the vehicle emitted white smoke with an electrical odor and crackling from the front undercarriage. Emergency services were contacted through 911, and firefighters disconnected the 12V battery to stabilize the vehicle. Two previous traction-battery-related repair attempts were performed by Jaguar, and a third repair is currently underway. The repeated failure of the high-voltage traction battery system represents a potential fire risk and electrical hazard. I am reporting this incident to ensure NHTSA is aware of this high-voltage safety defect.
