ENGINE
I was driving, and my engine died in the middle of Highway 40 about 5 miles outside of [XXX] . It was extremely dangerous, and Colorado State troopers and Colorado Division of Transportation workers had to stop traffic. The car could not be put into neutral, and towing to a safe location was very difficult and dangerous. The car has less than 76K, and there was absolutely no warning before the car died. No engine lights, no noise. Just died. I have read about rod bearing failures and believe my car is part of this problem. I have had frequent service, and my mechanic has said there was oil in the car, and the engine just seized. The mechanic believes it is a crankshaft rod bearing issue. I could have been hit and was traveling alone in an area that often does not have cell phone service available. This needs to be addressed, and engines should be recalled without delay. Driving around 60 mph and car flashed BRAKE on dash like it was to close to other vehicle and locked up brakes. Immediately went back to normal.

My car turned the brake light on, the cruise control stopped working, it has the lane departure warning on, the sensor on the windshield apparently is not working.. I can't use the cruise control nor the lane departure assistant and I am concerned that when needed the emergency breaks won't work.. this is a serious issue Honda should remedy.

ENGINE
While driving on the interstate I was trying to pass a vehicle and the vehicle all systems but the brake system issue. Check engine, emissions, power steering, hill start assist, traction assist. The vehicle would not accelerate. When I got on the shoulder the engine was struggling to stay on and had a loud knocking sound. Had the vehicle towed to nearest exit and had someone come pick me up with a trailer to take back home 5 hours away. The engine knocking got louder if you press on the gas.

TIRES
I am reporting a safety defect involving Continental CrossContact LX Sport tires, size 245/50 R20 used on my 2021 Honda Pilot. These tires are not currently included in the existing Continental recalls, but they are showing the same types of failures described in NHTSA recall 21T‑001 and related Continental bulletins. Specifically, my tires developed cracking/localized tread wear/vibration and visible separation in the tread/sidewall area. This matches the recall descriptions of carcass breaks and belt‑edge separations that can cause sudden air loss or partial/full tread and belt loss, leading to loss of vehicle control and increased risk of a crash. I believe these tires were manufactured with a similar defect and should be investigated and included in the recall.

It has happened on multiple occasions where I’m driving at 70mph, and my engine cuts out and I can no longer accelerate on the highway. My rpm’s drop to 0. I have to pull over until it comes back on again. It’s putting my safety, my children’s safety at risk, other drivers on the road at risk when all of the sudden my car will not accelerate.. has not been inspected by manufacturer. No other symptoms, no lights come on.

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The front camera is kicking a code of U3000-49 so now none of my safety features work nor is honda 100% certain on how to fix his issue. I've spoken to Honda and no one can provide a clear answer. I'm not driving my car with my 2 small children because it's the only car I have and none of my safety features are working due to the damage from the front camera. I've been told by a glass service, it's likely due to heat damage as Honda's front camera are known for this. This could cause so many issue, especially since Honda isn't giving any feedback on how to correct this issue.

Car is dangerous. I have been the only owner of this car. Over the years and again today the car loses acceleration when attempting to pass someone on the highway at speeds of 65 MPH +. The car just doesn't accelerate and leave you pushing gas and nothing happens. I have had issues where I have had to move over 2 lanes on busy highway to pull over due to lack of anything happening when I press the gas. Today, it actually didn't throw any codes, but acceleration returned after about 25 stressful seconds. It's bad enough this car has to have the idle engine depressed everytime you start it or the car will die and not restart at a traffic light. There are way too many safety issue with this car. I will keep reporting as time allows. I have done all the routine maintenance on this car as well. I try to keep my cars 10 years, but this one has been an issue since early on.

SEAT BELTS
I have had ongoing seat belt sensor issues with my vehicle. The middle row alarm would go off even when someone was buckled. Now it Has disabled itself and does not sense if someone is buckled or not. Now I also have two seat in the 3rd row that are intermittent alarms causing you to turn around and see if someone is in the seats or un buckled. The alarms go from constant to intermittent and will occur regardless of the weight of the person in the seat.

Component/System Failure: The right rear passenger seatbelt buckle/sensor appears to be malfunctioning. It intermittently registers as unbuckled even when the seatbelt is securely fastened. The component is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This defect creates a safety concern by causing continuous distraction to the driver due to repeated seatbelt warning chimes and alerts. It may also lead to uncertainty about whether the passenger is properly restrained, potentially compromising occupant safety. Reproduction/Confirmation: The issue has been consistently reproduced during normal driving conditions. It occurs frequently, even when the seatbelt is properly latched. The issue has not yet been formally confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Inspection History: The vehicle/component has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning Lamps/Messages/Symptoms: The seatbelt warning chime and dashboard alert activate intermittently while driving, despite the seatbelt being properly fastened. No prior warning signs were observed before the issue began. The problem first appeared in January 2026. Additional Notes / Assessment: Based on the symptoms, this appears to be a faulty seatbelt sensor or buckle connection issue causing false readings.

Auto idle stop activated at a stop light for the 2nd or 3rd time over a few years. Lifted foot off the break and stalled, the car went into Park and I could not put it into neutral or drive. The odometer screen looked like it does when the engine is on. The battery light was on. I tried to turn down the radio and the volume didn't work. I tried pressing the ignition button to turn off the car entirely but it didn't work the first couple of tries. Once I was able to completely turn it off, it struggled to turn over when I tried to start the engine, which I've never had happen, but did turn over. Dealership wanted to charge $325 for a few hours of diagnostics which we declined.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, the vehicle decelerated and stalled while depressing the accelerator pedal. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Neither an independent mechanic nor a dealer was contacted. The contact was able to pull over to the right side of the road, depressed the brake pedal, and turned off and restarted the vehicle after several seconds, and the vehicle operated as intended. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled and failed to return to normal functionality. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rod bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 121,632.
