At only 56,000 miles, one of the rear shocks completely snapped in half. While driving, hitting ANY type of bump caused the rear end to drastically sway side to side. Upon taking it to the repair shop, they stated it was a common problem with Odyssey's and only with Odyssey's. This website explains the issue well with pictures: [XXX] Why there isn't a recall is beyond me but this is a safety issue at this point. Especially for a vehicle designed to carry children. Shocks don't just break in half with normal driving. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle would not accelerate over 40MPH, we took the vehicle into the dealership for what we thought was a failed fuel injector, upon inspection they found metal shavings in the oil and mentioned the engine is not repairable and would need a whole new replacement. We had this vehicle 9 months. Upon investigation there was a known recall that is identical to the issues we are experiencing. The whole engine is failed and we cannot utilize it. It was inspected by the dealership. The check engine light is illuminating, and does not increase in speed. My family and I were unable to drive at a reasonable speed on the highway once it failed.

All of a sudden for no reason, error messages starting showing up on the dashboard. Such as: blind spot info system problem, lane keeping assist problem, transmission system problem, and others. The car runs fine. I took it to my local shop and they put a new battery in. At first the lights went out but then they came back. So I took it to the Honda dealership. They ran diagnostics and tell me the multipurpose camera needs to be replaced. At a cost of $1,996.00. I asked if the camera can just be taken out, but have been told that is not an option. Obviously many of the security features are tied to this device. We are taking an out of state trip this weekend to a family wedding so must get this fixed this week. I’m not comfortable driving the car that far in this condition. There were absolutely no problems with the car beforehand. It happened two days ago on Sat 8/29/26. We were returning from a day trip about 70 miles from home. When these error messages started popping up, the car was running fine and continued to do so.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the Traction Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact continued to drive the vehicle as it passed state inspection. While driving approximately 65-70 MPH, the cruise control suddenly failed, requiring the contact to manually steer the vehicle. Additionally, the Collision Mitigation Braking System, battery, and ABS warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the ABS light illuminated after the brake pads were recently replaced, and the ADAS calibration was not performed. The vehicle was taken back to a dealer, who informed the contact that the monocular camera burned out due to windshield brackets; however, the contact stated the failures occurred prior to the windshield replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My 2024 Honda Odyssey Elite has had two recent incidents of car going into idle and won't start up. The more serious one happened while I was stopped waiting to make a left turn. The Auto Idle Stop system shut the engine off when I was waiting on. Y left turn engine did not restart. I was stuck in the roadway for about two minutes before I was able to start the vehicle again. The red battery warning light was on while the engine would not restart. A few days prior during a trip from [XXX] to [XXX] the vehicle also would not start after I had been sitting with the engine off and accessories running at a gas station. After turning off the A/C fan, rear entertainment system, and unplugging my phone, the vehicle eventually started. I took the vehicle to a Honda dealer (Honda of [XXX]) They inspected it but said they could not reproduce the problem, so no repair was made. And they refuse to use my warranty to fix it. The vehicle is available for further inspection. My main safety concern is that the Auto Idle Stop system can shut the engine off in traffic and then fail to restart, leaving the vehicle disabled in an intersection like what happened to me. The multipurpose camera located behind the rear view mirror gets too hot and has errors and then fails and is expensive to repair. I had the recall completed for the camera at the rear of the vehicle and then the multipurpose camera in front died the next day.

I am reporting a serious electrical shock/electrocution hazard involving the factory-installed 115V AC power inverter outlet in my 2016 Honda Odyssey. While the vehicle was in motion, my [XXX] son was able, without tools, to pull the AC outlet assembly completely out of the interior panel. He was then able to detach the molded electrical connector/plug from the back of the outlet, exposing the electrical terminals/conductors. The inverter/outlet was powered at the time, meaning my [XXX] had direct physical access to energized electrical components. He was about to touch the exposed terminals when his sibling saw what he was doing and stopped him. This prevented potential electrical contact and injury. I immediately stopped the vehicle, turned off the power, moved my child away from the area, and removed the applicable fuse to ensure the circuit was de-energized before securing/reassembling the connector and outlet. No injury occurred, but this was a serious near-miss. A [XXX] passenger was able to remove a factory AC electrical outlet and expose energized electrical terminals without tools or adult-level disassembly. The outlet's mounting/retention and connector design did not prevent a young child from accessing energized conductors within the passenger compartment. This creates a potential electrical shock, burn, electrocution, and electrical-short hazard, including the possibility of a child inserting a finger or conductive object into the exposed area. I request that NHTSA investigate the outlet assembly, retention method, connector, and protection from access to energized components in the 2016 Honda Odyssey, and determine whether other vehicles using the same components are affected. This design should not permit a young child to gain tool-free access to energized electrical terminals. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The front windshield camera mounted above the rear view mirror overheats and shuts off, causing a minimum of 14 errors to light up the dashboard screen during driving. This also prevents the back lift gate from opening once parked until the errors are cleared. This has happened multiple times, not always when it is hot and sunny, but the camera module overheats and shuts off anyway.

2015 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite, VIN [XXX]. Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision on XXX. The driver's frontal airbag did not deploy. During the impact, I was thrown forward and struck the steering wheel. Additionally, a side/sliding door opened during the collision. The door was closed before the collision. I am concerned about possible failures of the supplemental restraint system and door-latching system. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Engine failed to restart after turning off at idle at a stop. When releasing the brake the engine tried to turn on but stalled out. It is available for inspection upon request. No major safety concern, traffic behind the vehicle was prohibited from moving until the vehicle could be restarted. The failure has not been reproduced by a dealer or service center, or inspected by anyone else. There were no warning lights but after the failure a message displayed saying “To continue to drive, depress brake pedal and push switch”. The failure first appeared after 10,000 miles and occurred between 5-10 times since then.

While stopped at a red light on a busy road my car engine stopped and usually it automatically restarted when I let off the gas but it would not start and the engine would not turn on. The car was stalled and it took multiple attempts to get the engine to restart. This has happened 3 times now. I have had the battery tested and the battery is good and my mechanic believes it is an issue with the starter
