The seatbelt in our Civic became entangled around our child and locked. The more we tried to get her out, the tighter it became. It was so tight around her waist that it left marks. She unbuckled the seatbelt and let a little more back into the retractor, hoping it would unlock but it only got tighter. We were on vacation and had to find a hardware store to buy a socket set to disconnect the seatbelt from the frame of the car, so at this point has to drive on I-70 with a kid tangled in an unbuckled seatbelt. Once we purchased a socket set, there was plastic obstructing access to the bolt, so we had to then purchase a knife to cut away the plastic to access the bolt. All the while, our kid was tangled up tightly in the seatbelt, squeezing her abdomen. There needs to be an emergency seatbelt lock release button. Had this became tangled around her neck, she could have been seriously hurt or killed.

Steering "sticks" when moving the wheel from center in order to make minor corrections at highway speeds. Overcoming the "stick" requires using additional force resulting in overcorrection and swerving. This is a serious safety concern.

My car which is less than 3 years old has faulty electronic power steering assembly. I took the car to Honda service and they confirmed that its faulty and needs replacement. I was quoted $3500 to fix it since im out of warranty. Contacted Honda Motor corporation and they refused to help me get this replaced. Steering get stuck on the highway speed while going around curves and makes it very difficult to break loose from the stuck position. I almost got into an accident while trying to break loose from the stuck position. My service representative confirmed that all 2022-2023 has this issue or will have this issue as the milage goes up. In my case i always had this issue but i thought it was the lane keep assist feature that is correcting itself. This vehicle needs to be recalled for the power steering.

The steering “locks”. To make a small steering adjustment, the car JERKS to the right. A “clicking” has also recently started at the same time of the steering and jerking motion of the car. I was stopped for suspicious DUI. I had to provide the officer with multiple forums discussing the EXACT problem. I reported the problem more than a year ago to the dealership.

2017 Hatchbacks with the 1.5 liter engine 4 cylinder didn’t get an extended warranty yet all other Hondas with this engine did because of problems but not the hatchback when same parts and same problems I never want to buy a new Honda again . Had to get a coolant flush not soon after I bought it because car was over heating yet that’s all they did never looked by into why and then problem after problem . A night mare buying a new Honda . Seen many videos and read many threads of people with same year and sa b me complaints and I’ve contacted a lot of people and no place knows why the hatchbacks weren’t covered but other cars same engine same problem was. Had to rebuild engine and replace turbo at 103,00 miles after having to replace spark plugs every 7 thousand miles the whole time I owned it and adding coolant to it when dealership said it want a problem and did nothing about it and now at 130000 some miles car just keeps over heating and dealership just told me I need a new engine and wouldn’t tell me why and dealership never been helpful at all. Just look at my car and engine online and all the complaints. Then being told issue is fixed with an ECU update just don’t drive the car short distances with a lot of stop and goes only drive long distances and don’t drive in winter time . I lost it because how is that the problem being fixed . And all the carbon build up is insane. And the oil dilution problem still exists. All these defects and problems with a new car is insane . I figured a new car would be better but of course first new vehicle I buy is a Lemon and all these problems and Honda won’t do right by it . Car also going into what I call limo dick mode in middle of 4 lane high way is dangerous and doing that when car was under 20,000 miles and always has . Also parking brake still messes up even though it was recalled the problem still exists . Him screen occasionally freezes or goes blank or don’t work . Just non stop problems since bought new

Usually in the mornings there is a loud sound that comes out of the vents. I have it recorded. It sounds somewhat like crackling. One time when my car was in the shop I was given a loner of the same type of car and I heard it in that car as well. Today was the most recent occurence. 6/12/24.

My steering wheel will stick and I will have to lightly jerk it to get it right. Usually when I'm on the highway but at other times too. It seems to be getting worse. Last year, I told the Honda dealership where I purchased the car about tje problem but they saw nothing wrong but I can feel there is a problem. It is a safety issue because the wheel should not stick while Im driving and having to jerk it out of the stuck position is also unsafe. No warning lights come on and I do not use lane assist. I have my kids in the car so their safety is also at risk. Today is the most recent day it happened. 6/12/24

1. Steering component is malfunctioning. It is available for inspection. 2. Difficulty steering on highway speeds and simple and minor adjustments causes sticky steering, which I have to add force every time to keep my vehicle in a straight line. 3. I have not yet brought the issue to a dealership, but I will have the vehicle inspected to further identify the issue. The problem has been an issue with other civic models as well. 4. Same as question 3. 5. No warning lamps.

- #11593786June 11, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was stopped at a red light in the left-hand turn lane, waiting to turn left. Light turned green and I accelerated turning left. The car suddenly braked with no car or obstruction in my path. No collision mitigation light warnings came on. The car just slammed on the breaks!! Dealer service manager told me over the phone that unless a code comes up, they really can’t diagnose the issue. I believe this is a design flaw and not an issue with my car that can be addressed by the dealer. I have done research online and found many people reporting this issue and several while turning left. I am very concerned with the safety of this car.

When driving highway speeds (50-70 MPH) the steering wheel feels "notched" between 11 and 1 positions. This will cause me to oversteer in making minor adjustments. The problem is more consistent in daytime traffic with the temperatures at the hottest. In morning commutes, the issue arises about 15 minutes into the commute. Looking at online forums there have been many instances of other drivers experiencing the same problem however most could not have the issue resolved due to licensed dealers not fixing the faulty device but instead saying this is a compliant design.
