I bought this car from a Honda dealership in Cincinnati. I searched for this specific year and color. It had about 48k miles on it when I got it. I have only put on 14k miles now. I purchased the warranty. After a year of owning it. My paint on the plastic pieces started to chip off. The mirror is nearly completely paintless, and the door handles look bad as well. I have been trying to work with Honda. The dealership recognized this was an issue with this color. There is a class action for the white as well. The honda dealership said Honda corporate should do something about it since I haven't had this car very long. Honda corporate came back and told me that they would have only covered it in the year of 2020 which is silly because the car is a 2020. I purchased it at the end of 2023. So as soon as I got this off of the lot I was [XXX] essentially. I told them that I haven't even put that many miles on the car and they said it didn't matter. Online everywhere talks about the issues with the paint chipping on the plastics and they refuse to recognize it. I was quoted over 1000 to fix the more serious issues but another 400 more to fix everything and that was just for the parts and not the labor. The dealership service manager at Honda recognized this was a problem but corporate doesn't want to do anything about it. The issue started happening a year after I purchased it. I haven't even owned it for a full two years. Not even 14k miles on it since my purchase. Purchased the warranty and they refuse to help. We purchased the vehicle in Jan 2025. As the weather or the car warmed the steering gets stiff and hard to maneuver, making it difficult to stay in the center of the lane. There are times when it gets so bad I think a cop could pull me over for swerving. As I researched the symptoms I found that recall SB18-102 matched the symptoms and was for the same year, make, and model; however, my car’s VIN wasn’t included. I took the vehicle to a local Honda dealership on 6/16/25 who confirmed it was a power steering box failure and gave an estimate of $3,990.46 to fix it. That same day I called Honda customer care and submitted a case to try to get the costs covered due to their being a recall out on the same year, make, and model and issue as mine. They advised me to go back to the dealership and request my car be submitted for Honda’s Goodfaith assistance. I requested this on 7/9/25 and was told on 7/10/25 it was denied with no reasoning. The car has no warning signals however the issue persists. My fear is that it will lock up or not straighten up and I or my son (whom the car was purchased for) will run off the road or cause an accident. This is obviously a known issue but Honda is not taking ownership and declined to help with the cost, which is almost a third of the cost of the vehicle we paid.

When raining and I back up, the camera becomes covered with water and I am unable to see what is behind me. I also had my driver window shatter while I was driving for no apparent reason. This was very upsetting.

On over a dozen occasions my vehicle’s check engine light randomly comes on and then my car stalls out while driving and begins decelerating quickly. It is very dangerous and scary when this has happened on the freeway or in places where there is nowhere to pull off the road. My Honda Civic is less than 2 years old and has already been in the service department at Honda for a combined total of more than 30 days. Honda keeps trying to replace things but the issue keeps happening and they haven’t been able to properly diagnose or fix the problem. It is unsafe to drive this car and Honda has been unable to fix it. I bought this car brand new with 0 miles and the issues started early on before I reached 20,000 miles. I attached one of the most recent invoices from Honda where they noted the fuel injectors failing and codes of misfires in all cylinders. They most recently tried replacing the fuel injector but it still hasn’t fixed the problem. This car is unsafe to drive and has been in the shop multiple times for more than 30 days for the same issue that they can’t seem to fix.

The vehicle steering wheel feels stuck in position while driving, it releases the initial sticking feeling when I force the turn and it continues to feel stuck in place every time the steering doesn’t turn to either side and I try to turn again it requires extra force to release the stuck in place feeling. I took to dealership and asked if there was a recall and they told me only on newer models but not on my car model. The initial steering stuck in place causes delay when I need to steer quickly in traffic, I believe t’s a safety concern. My car only has 39137 miles on the odometer.

While driving my 2019 Honda Civic Sport, the steering wheel frequently sticks or feels like it slips when making slight adjustments or turning. This is especially noticeable at highway speeds and during low-speed turns. It requires additional force to correct the steering, leading to overcorrection and a delayed return to the center position. The issue creates a safety concern as it impairs precise vehicle control and is most concerning while making corrections at highway speeds. Multiple owners online are reporting the same symptoms, and there are indications that this may be caused by a faulty EPS gearbox or steering rack. Honda has not issued a recall, and dealerships have not provided a lasting fix.

Steering has progressively become more "sticky", hitching around 12 o' clock. It gets worse at higher speeds and makes it difficult to drive in straight line, and I end up bouncing back and forth between lane lines when driving on highway.

I was informed of a recall notice for my vehicle in the summer months of 2024 (approximately). I took my vehicle to the Culver City Honda dealership in Los Angeles to address this, however they informed me that the issue was not critical and that they did not have the parts. Hence, the recall notice has still not been addressed. I recently (June 2025) imported this vehicle to Canada and I am unable to proceed with the import procedure because of this outstanding recall notice.

Continental P 195/65 R 15. 89 H. The tire blew and the side wall on the outside on the passenger side front. It looks shredded on the side- not a normal blown tire look. We were in the right lane on a 3 lane highway so we were able to get off as soon as it blew. Our safety was at risk because we had to change tire on the side of a busy 3 lane highway and it was late on a sunday night so nothing was open to replace and had to drive 70 miles back home on a donut. It could've caused an accident. No known issues/warnings/messages/etc. I will never buy another Continental again.

- #11671348July 5, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The vehicle unexpectedly began accelerating from a creep with no accelerator input. Acceleration ceased immediately as soon a the brake pedal was touched. No actual braking was required--simply a touch on the pedal. Acceleration was as if the accelerator pedal had been pressed about 1/4 down. It lasted about 1.5 seconds from initiation to touching the brake pedal. The pavement was not on a grade but was substantially level. This is the 3rd or 4th such incident in the last few months. In the other incidents I was unsure if it was my imagination or some unrelated factor like grade. In previous incidents I had been about to accelerate in any case, and pressing the accelerator overtook it. In this incident, the car was navigating a parking lot, having just pulled out of the parking space and moved 50-100 ft. The car was moving in "creep" mode, i.e., the EV system simulating the creep of an automatic transmission (ca 0-4 mph). My impression is that each incident occured not long after restarting the car, though I am not fully certain of this. In this occurence there was one passenger; in all previous occurences there was no passengers. In all occurences, the Cruise Control system was on but not engaged. The "driving style" was set for Normal, as opposed to Sport or Eco. No alerts or unexpected lights were observed on the instrument panel. For the latest incident, the driver's floor mat was checked and found to be properly secured and well clear of the accelerator pedal. The car's last (and only) service was the normal Honda "A1" maintenance in May 2025 at ~11000 miles. Service was done at a Honda shop, so any firmware should be current to that date. The shop was not notified of the acceleration issue at that time. The Honda shop has been notified today (July 5).

The steering wheel is sticking in my 2017 Civic. This problem happens more frequently after I have been driving for a while and is more common at speeds above 40 mph. The steering wheel will feel "locked" in place and require force to turn the wheel. It feels sticky and heavy, and occurs especially often on the freeway, leading to dangerous situations where I have to jerk the wheel, either causing my car to deviate from my path, or not allowing me to respond to changing road conditions in time. The steering column is still original and has not been previously repaired. These symptoms sound surprisingly like NHTSA recall # 4V-744, though my vehicle falls outside of the model range. Potentially defective parts include the electric power steering rack, the gearbox worm wheel, or a clock spring. It has not been replicated at a dealer despite multiple inspections, but I finally got a video of it happening. It has been happening for about a year, but has been getting worse. I checked my tire inflation multiple times and it has not resolved the problem. No warning lamps, message, or other symptoms have been reported.

There is a recall for 2022-2025 Honda civics for gearbox repair/sticky steering issues and my year 2017 is NOT included. I’ve had this issue since I bought my car from Phillipsburg/Easton Honda on October 3, 2023. I thought it was unique to this car until I looked it up online and noticed that several car owners have the same issue. I feel that N HTSA need to look into it and add 2017 Honda Civic to this recall. A mechanic told me it could cost upwards over $2300 to make this repair. How is a normal person supposed to afford such an expensive repair. I purchased a Honda for the first time in my life wanting an affordable good car and it’s been nothing but a headache since I purchased it. I am worried that because I drive the everyday on the highway, I will get into an accident one day because if the steering sticking issue… PLEASE HELP

The problem is with the steering. When driving in a straight line and just normal driving, correcting from left to right to keep the vehicle in the lane, when moving the steering wheel, it seems to be sticking, and it causes one to overcorrect, and then causes the car to sway in the lane, and it seems to do it more turning to the right then to the left. I’m taking to have it inspected by a Honda dealer but after reading some reviews online, it could be a $4000 repair and apparently it is something that has been going on for a while, and a manufactured defect with these vehicles, and there is no recall about it , and there are several videos on YouTube showing The inside of the gearbox of the steering rack and pinion, and that the grease was not applied to the gears correctly, and that is what’s causing it to stick.

Component: Car AC System The Car AC system of the 10th generation Honda Civics is extremely faulty. My car is a 2016 Honda Civic with 75,000 miles and I have already had 3 "Extended Warranty" repairs on it. One at the condenser system and 2 at the compressor. This were covered under the "Extended Warranty". Now the evaporator is giving out and it is not cover under "Extended Warranty" and consumers are expected to pay for a faulty designed AC repair that just keeps breaking. In very hot areas in the country this is a major issue as the AC constantly blowing hot air can be nauseating and distracting especially with outside temperatures are above the 100 degrees. With the Extended Warranty only lasting 10 years a lot of cars are now going to be considered out of warranty and forced the consumer to pay for the faulty design. I would understand if the warranty repairs would fix the issue and they would never come back. But it seems that they are placing a mere bandaid and kicking the problem down the line until everyone is out of warranty. I've had 3 service to the AC and now I am due for a 4th. The car is not that old to be requiring all these services, and the bandaids place on the service are only lasting 1 to 2 years.
