Description: This is my second NHTSA complaint regarding unprompted automatic emergency braking in this vehicle. While driving at normal speed on [XXX], with no obstacle, pedestrian, or vehicle ahead, the vehicle's forward collision system activated without warning — audible alert sounded followed by the vehicle automatically applying hard braking and coming to an abrupt stop in the roadway. There was no obstruction, stopped traffic, or hazard present to justify the activation. I had 4 passengers in the vehicle at the time, including two children. The vehicle came to a sudden, forceful stop, creating a risk of rear-end collision from following traffic and a jolt risk to occupants. This is a recurring defect — I filed a prior NHTSA complaint for a similar unprompted braking event [reference no-XXX ] that resulted in a shoulder/neck injury to me as well as headache. Both incidents are documented on dash camera video and audio, including the audible system alert preceding each braking event.
