While I was driving, the dash screen read "Press start button" and suddenly the vehicle loss engine power and I had to veer to the far right lane. Luckily the cars around me swerved away. I had initially called OnStar, but when the police arrived they told me I couldn't wait for Onstar as I was impeding traffic so they called a local tow truck and they towed it to my house. From my house, OnStar towed it to the GMC dealership. The dealership stated the engine has locked up and needs a whole new engine replacement.

While driving along [XXX] in northern Arkansas the on [XXX] my 2023 GMC Sierra Denali's 6.2 engine suddenly locked up causing us to pull on to the shoulder of the road - nearly causing an accident. The vehicle had 23000 miles on it at the time. We were towing a two horse trailer with one horse aboard. At our expense, we had the vehicle and trailer towed back to St. Louis, MO then to O'Fallon Buick GMC. The dealer replaced the entire engine under warranty with a used rebuilt engine. They have omitted the engine replacement from the vehicle history report in CARFAX. The dealer had handled a number of 6.2 engine failures prior to this one. The vehicle was serviced well within factory guidelines at the dealer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

L87 engine problems. I have had failed lifters, on top of transmission issues and a current oil consumption issue where I have to add two quarts of oil (sometimes more) without any indication of low oil. I took my vehicle into the local dealership and the technician asked if I had gotten any low oil indicator and I stated no. He proceeded to tell me it had little to no oil in it. Imagine this at highway speeds and sudden engine seizure.

Engine failure with no prior warning 11/21/2023. We were on the highway. Truck made some noises and hesitated and stalled within 2 minutes. Thankfully, there was an off ramp and we were able to roll into a gas station. Had it towed to a GMC dealer. GMC dealer confirmed engine was blown. Dealer confirmed it's a known issue.

- #11636575January 17, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SEATS
Intermittent problems with various systems freezing up or not working: Windshield wipers freezing for several seconds mid-wipe. Nearly caused accident. Heads up display not retaining settings Seat controls (bladders that inflate deflate) intermittently working/infotainment screen freeze (where seat control is displayed). Lane departure warning inconsistently working (beeping) Radio quits playing for several seconds and screen goes dark Blinker stops blinking and then re-starts 6.2L engine slow/rough idle continuously hunting for stable speed (This is the only problem that is NOT intermittent). At times almost dies. A/C unit stuck on "hot" delivering 92 degree air when outside 72 degrees. Temp set at Low. (No A/C just trying to get fresh outside air in). Vehicle was under recall and control modules "reflashed" before purchased (new). Dealer reflashed which did not solve problems. Dealer cannot duplicate (but they only spend a little time looking at the issue). Has been in shop off/on for about 2 weeks attempting to resolve. Issues on occasion still occuring since Mid October 2024 purchase.

My 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 - Driving home from work on the highway car lost sudden power, All engine notifications appeared on dash and a very loud screeching sound happened. Was able to pull it onto the side of the road barely. Diagnosis from nearby shop was a lifter failure in cylinder 5 causing metal shavings to lock crank up. Total engine replacement. Car has 122,000 miles and every oil change done at 3,000 miles by GMC service technician since new and documented. GMC offered nothing when notified about the issue.

So August 29, 2023, at 46,000 miles, my engine failed completely with no warning or anything, while driving to work, was at the dealership until October 4th. Then December 10th, 2024 with 83,000 miles my engine failed again while my little brother and I were driving home late that night, on the highway at 70mph , suddenly losing power, causing us to be stranded on the side of the highway at 2am. Has been at the dealership since December 11th, with no eta in sight, and we're at 36 days and counting. A spac case was opened to escalate getting a part. This truck has been a problem and I want to get rid of it as its a safety hazard to myself, family members, and other on the road. GM customer service has also been giving me a runaround as well.

While driving the vehicle, had a sudden “thud” from the engine compartment and immediately started getting error messages on the dashboard. When the codes were pulled, it said a misfire from cylinder number 8. The initial shop it was taken to was unable to diagnose the problem and referred me to the dealership. Upon inspection at the dealership, they stated that the camshaft and all the lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle is still at the dealership waiting for this to be done. Upon doing some research, I have found that lifter issues are a very common occurrence in these vehicles. I was reading this morning about the investigation that the NHTSA has started into issues with the L87 engine, which my vehicle has. If the investigation is concentrated on another issue, I would recommend that the lifter issue gets looked into as well. There is no reason that a vehicle with just over 100,000 miles and has had all the oil changes done on time, should suffer a failure like this that costs thousands so dollars to fix. I apologize for not including videos of the issue, I can’t save the ones that the dealership took. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information or if I can be of further assistance. Thank you.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, the contact was advised that the failure experienced was due to a faulty battery and that it would need to be replaced. January 17, 2025 On [XXX] at approximately [XXX} I was returning from Walmart. 3 doors from my home I heard and felt a loud pop thinking maybe it could be a hose or something because it was extremely cold 7 degrees but everything seemed fine. Today I decided to have my vehicle washed and waxed since it’s 40 degrees but on my way to the shop it sounded like a window or door was open. When I got there the young man immediately said that my rear window was broken I said it couldn’t be because I really leave my home but I looked closer and it was shattered, he said he had heard of that when it’s cold and using your defroster heating up the wire causes it to explode is probably what happened and there may be a recall on it and there is N192265660. Rear Window wire exploded on [XXX] at about [XXX] I heard a loud pop coming from Walmart and got 3 doors from my home, haven’t drove it since it was 7 degrees that night but when I took it in to get a hand car wash today January 17, 2025 I shop immediately told me my rear window was broken but since don’t leave my home often it didn’t make sense. When accelerating (at times) truck will shudder. Sometimes barely noticeable, sometimes violently. Was told by dealership that torque converter is going out and will be $4000 to replace but may not even fix issue. Looking online, appears that MANY (1,000’s) people are having same issue and that there is even a class action lawsuit about this issue. But no investigation by NHSTA yet, even though I can see many many complaints of similar issues

Battery heating module failed. This resulted in small, hard to distinguish, "service vehicle" icon to appear on the dash with no further information. This warning icon first appeared during a long drive, then went away on its own and eventually came back. This failure would eventually make charging, particularly in cold weather, impossible and potentially stranding the occupants. The servicing dealership has confirmed this failure and is attempting to replace the module. However, parts for this replacement seem to be unavailable with no current estimated arrival.
