SEATS
Twice my 4 year old grandson has had the foldable seats begin to fold while he was sitting in the chair. Once, while in his car seat and once while the car was parked in the garage while he sat in the rear seat. Both times were accidental. The first time he accidentally pushed the button reaching for a toy, the second time his shoe hit the button while he was climbing into the car to sit. Both I had to press the button reverse the folding option as the seat continued to fold despite the resistance from the chair the first time and again the second time as my grandson was seated while the folding rear seat continued to nearly crush him while folding down. There was a third time while loading groceries in the cargo area. A bag of groceries shifted and hit the button located in the trunk and began folding the chair.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Vehicle is experiencing sudden loss of drive power without warning. There is no error code, nor dashboard indicator (check Eng, etc.). It suddenly just loses power - engine still running. This loss of motive-power safety condition is identical to the fuel pump cavitation issue, consistent with the NHTSA recall 23V630000. My VIN is currently not on the recall, but was manufactured exactly in the mid- range of the June - Dec 2021 production, that has had the recall. Built in the August-Sept 2021 timeframe. Currently in the shop for troubleshooting. Can provide repair invoice at a later date. I think this issue is larger than the recall suggests.

Water enters headlamp assembly causing a he assembly to fail. Failed assembly ruins control module. Ruined control module disables multiple safety features (7 errors code show upon failure). Root cause is a faulty seal from original manufacturing. Manufacturer has corrected the faulty seal but did not issue safety recall leaving owners with defective and unsafe equipment as well as hefty repair bills.

My 2024 GV80 with approximately 15k miles started completely powering off while driving multiple times and the vehicle started itself while in my enclosed garage space with no one in the vehicle, no button/brake pressed, not key fob pressed. I turned this into the dealership for manufacturer repair on 9/13/25 and as of today, 2/5/26, I still do not have my car back. The dealership explains there is an intermittent parasitic draw that they have been unable to identify. The battery drain, they claim, resulted in the car stopping by itself and starting by itself. The company has refused buyback under Lemon Law (not covering CPO), letters to the CEO have gone unanswered, multiple claims with Genesis corporate have resulted in no help and the local dealership is horrendous- no response, having the vehicle 5 months, no timeline.

Genesis gv80 - DAW - need coffee Driver Attention Warning / Forward Attention Warning System This issue warrants immediate consideration for a recall. Despite wearing glasses, sunglasses, or no glasses, the problem This occurs regardless of the time of day, weather conditions, or whether I am sitting upright or reclining. The warning alerts even when eyes are persistently and continuously on the road. The warning randomly activates every 2-5 minutes and extremely disruptive and distracting to driving.

Genesis Connected Services is not functional on vehicle since December 23 2025. This module controls Emergency Services and communications, Navigation and vehicle safety features. Genesis has been contacted more than 5 times already and no solution or fixes have been done as of todays date.

1. ·On [XXX] I was driving on the freeway at highway speeds when the car shut itself down and went into neutral and accessory mode. No warning lights came on. Nothing happened if I hit the gas or the brake or tried to change the gear. With the car being shut down, I could have been hit by other cars traveling at high rates of speed or caused an accident due to my car shutting itself off. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a dealer. They said it needed an entirely new transmission. No, the car has not be inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance agents, or others. 2. ·On [XXX], I was again driving on the freeway at freeway speeds when the car shut itself off and went into neutral and accessory mode. Nothing happened if I hit the gas or the brake or tried to change the gear. No warning lights came on. Nothing happened if I hit the gas or the brake or tried to change the gear. With the car being shut down, I could have been hit by other cars traveling at high rates of speed or caused an accident due to my car shutting itself off. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a dealer. They said it needed an entirely new transmission. When I spoke to the service department, I was told "it was not the first transmission they've replaced." No, the car has not be inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance agents, or others. 3.·On [XXX] I was exiting the freeway and accelerating to merge in the far left lane when the loaner car given to me by the dealer, another Genesis GV80, shut itself off and went into neutral and accessory mode. Again, nothing happened when I pressed the gas or the brake or tried to change the gear. No warning lights came on. I drive Genesis GV 80 vehicle made in Korea. The information screen on my car keeps displaying very distracting message about SiriusXm radio free music in what are so-called pop-up advertisements that keep showing up randomly while I’m driving distracting me from paying attention to other cars and traffic in general ! I find this quite dangerous and want something done about stopping these ad’s from being displayed while I am driving as they may cause me to have an accident. This sort of intrusion should not be happening in the cars we drive here in America someone’s going to cause an accident because they were reading these ads and not watching the road. The contact owns a 2025 Genesis GV80. The contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle was pulling to the right. The contact depressed the brake pedal and was able to turn back in the intended direction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

Condensation has appeared in the driver side headlight. It has caused the headlight and blinker to stop working. In addition, several warning lights have appeared on the dash indicating the following operations are no longer working.... Driver Attention Warning System, Forward Safety System, Lane Change Assist system, Lane Departure Warning System and High Beam Assist. While the driving assist systems may be optional functions, the lack of headlight and blinker are, in my opinion, safety issues. Certainly, the car would not pass a safety inspection in the state of Virginia and, as a result, I would not be able to register the vehicle. Genesis has known of the headlight condensation problem for years and has issued several TSB's, yet they continue to build cars with a known safety issue. In my opinion, a safety recall should be implemented and Genesis should be required to repair the problem at their expense.

I exited the car, the car door was shutting, however, not all the way shut. My thumb was between the door and the body of the car at which point the soft close feature engaged, shutting my thumb in the door all the way and squeezing shut. No warning signals. Finger is badly bruised and swollen. No inspections have been done.

On September 28, 2025, after parking in my garage on a hot day (~80°F), my Genesis GV80 automatically locked all doors while my 3-year-old child and dog were still inside. My keys were also locked in the vehicle. Neither the driver nor passenger door thumbprint sensors responded. For approximately 20 minutes, I was unable to unlock the car while my daughter was trapped inside crying and screaming. I was forced to call the police and emergency services. The situation was only resolved when I calmed my daughter enough to press the unlock button from inside, just before the ambulance arrived. Police responded to the scene and a report was made. This is the second time this defect has occurred. A nearly identical incident happened previously when my daughter was 2 years old, though I did not obtain a police report at that time. This defect presents a serious safety hazard to children and passengers, especially in warm weather when entrapment can quickly lead to heat-related injury or worse. The locking and keyless entry system (including electronic thumbprint access) failed without warning. No dashboard lights, error messages, or other warnings appeared prior to the failure. I am the owner of a 2023 Genesis GV80 and have experienced a recurring issue with the vehicle’s windshield. I have owned the vehicle for nearly three years and, in that time, have spent more days driving with a cracked windshield than without. Even the smallest of impacts, such as minor stone chips, immediately expand into large cracks, leaving no opportunity for a standard resin repair through companies like Safelite. To date, I have gone through three new windshields, all replaced with factory OEM glass and professionally installed by a reputable auto glass repair company in Portage, Michigan that specializes in high-end vehicles. Despite this, the problem persists. This ongoing defect presents a consistent safety concern and raises serious questions about the durability and quality of the windshield. Further, Genesis community discussion boards reflect that many other owners are experiencing this exact same issue. I believe the glass to be very weak and poses a significant danger if an impact other than a small stone was present. The photos attached is of the third windshield currently on the vehicle. Replacing it would mean a fourth windshield. It currently received a stone roughly 2200 miles after the previous windshield was replaced. The current windshield has 3 cracks (all separate incidents) in it since July!!! I do not live down a dirt road. Most of the vehicle miles are done on the highway. I do not drive behind semis or put myself in situations that would increase the odds of my vehicle getting struck by a flying stone. I have paid thousands in windshield replacements and PPF film to protect my vehicle.

2021 gv80. Drivers side headlight failed while on vacation. Had newly formed condensation in headlight and must have shorted it had to drive back home with no turning signal and no headlight. Had the shop look at it when I got home and confirmed the unit was bad. Dealer is charging around 2,500-3,000.00 for headlight replacement

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The Forward Attention Warning system has many false readings (sun, glasses, looking to the right of the wheel at the other autos visible out of the right side of the windshield). When activating the FAW alarm it immediately shuts off lane assistance and adaptive causing rapid deceleration. 3 times when it did this it slows so rapidly that cars behind have to swerve to miss making contact. One time a slight contact was made. There is not a way to disengage it, even when following genesis instructions to "turn it off" it remains active. Gensis acknowledged complaints and looking at online forums shows this to be a growing safety problem. There needs to be a disable function for some amount of time, FAW is going to get someone hurt or worse.
