The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-450. While the contact's son was driving 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was determined that there was failure with the #3 fuel injector. The contact stated that the fuel injectors were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred three days after the repair. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode while driving with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The VIN was associated with the recall; however, the contact had not yet received notification of the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

I purchased a 2024 F-450 Limited from Phil Long Ford of [XXX] [XXX] located in [XXX] on XXX. After noticing that I was the third (sometimes the fourth listed owner) I decided to do some further investigation on the truck's history. I've come to find out that the truck was imported from [XXX], which was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. The vehicle’s electronic systems and safety components have repeatedly malfunctioned, including the Hill Start Assist system, Hill Descent Control system, Blind Spot Detection system, diesel exhaust fluid system, and powertrain control system. These failures are documented through FordPass alerts dated May–August 2023 (it was sold to me as "new" and built at Ford's [XXX] plant in September of 2024) and Ford Oasis records, which is impossible for a 2024 model year truck and indicates prior use, module tampering, or VIN corruption. All components remain available for inspection. These failures placed my safety at risk by disabling braking‑assist systems, stability‑control systems, and exhaust‑emissions controls while driving. The AC hasn't worked on the truck in months. The problems have been reproduced and confirmed through FordPass, Ford Oasis, and diagnostic data showing module faults, mileage inconsistencies, and ECU irregularities. The vehicle has been inspected by multiple Phil Long Ford locations throughout [XXX], FordPass connected‑vehicle diagnostics, and Ford Oasis, all of which show repeated system faults and warnings. Warning lamps and messages first appeared in May 2023 according to FordPass, long before the vehicle was sold, or even built for that matter, and continued through 2024–2026. Based on the evidence, the cause appears to be prior foreign‑market use, improper importation, undisclosed repairs, and electronic module tampering. If any portion of this cannot be conclusively verified, the cause is UNKNOWN and based on the best available documentation. Navigation sporadic. Shows location then puts you 200 miles away. now shows at dealer when im 30 miles from Dealer. has shown to turn into the water in [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The navigation is intermittent, which causes the dash and connectivity to stop, which makes the dash go blank. Come back on and has shut the truck off a couple of times. Ford is saying it's connectivity, they're connectivity. People is saying the software software people are saying it's hardware. The dealer refuses to work on it. Anymore, because they've had it two months and can do nothing with it

The contact owned a 2017 Ford F-450. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH, there was a loud pop coming from the engine compartment, and the vehicle immediately caught fire. While attempting to turn off the vehicle, the vehicle failed to turn off. The contact exited the vehicle and called the Fire Department, and the fire was extinguished. A fire report was filed. The fire was caused by fuel leaking onto the engine. The vehicle was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
