While using adaptive cruise control in stop-and-go traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, my 2023 Ford F-150 repeatedly loses track of the vehicle directly ahead and accelerates toward its set speed despite stopped traffic in front of me, requiring me to brake manually to avoid a collision. This happens every time I cross the bridge in traffic, most recently on October 26, 2026, at about 7:33 PM, at 37,293 miles.

Spring of 2025 shortly after buying this truck I took it to Ford dealer to have theinspection for the axle bolts. They reported they were ok and closed the recall. On 10/5/2026 I took my truck to an independant mechanic for a leaking right rear axle seal. When he pulled the wheel off the axle bolt head fell to the ground. When he called me to let me know what was going on I told him about the recall and to wait untilI contacted Ford. When I called ford dealer who did the inspection they told me it was closed and no further action due by them. That I would be responsible for the repairs. They said they could not sell me new axles because they were kept for vehicles fixed under the recall. So, ai has my mechanic replace the sea, hub and bolt. A week later the seal failed again. I do not know if the bolt broke again or not I haven't had it to the garage yet. I have contacted customer service at Ford they refused to let me talk to someone higher up and hung up on me. I am currently driving the truck it is my main transportation. I contacted the social media group at Ford also they just gave me the run around and same answer - "the recall is closed and no further action required". My opinion Ford knows it is a costly design problem in that the bolt is insufficient for the load and they do not want to pay for the repairs.

Trace water accumulation routing from clogged/faulty drain plug to corroded DCN wiring connector during rainfall. Due to manufacturing design of '23 Ford F150 model windshield drain cowls, minor debris allowed for water to backflow into the Data Communication Network (DCN) wiring harness and Body Control Module (BCM) connectors, interior electrical components, and interior of the cab wetting the upholstery and flooring within the front passenger side of truck. Driver experienced electrical black outs within the dash and center screens, lighting failures, and multiple system alert misfires while driving the vehicle. Alerts consistently glitching on the dash screen included: Service Vehicle Soon, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Service Advance Trac, Rear Belt Monitor Fault Service Required. The issues were reported to Ford, whose representatives noted the history behind water damages associated with cowl/drain designs, but confirmed the issue has not been formalized for recall. This known issue presents buyers with financial and physical safety risks, known by Ford, and places full responsibility for poor engineering on new owners. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for repairs and parts replacement. All at the owners expense.

- #11772151October 19, 2026STEERING
Over the past year, the steering on my 2023 Ford F‑150 Lightning has progressively developed a severe “sticky” or “notchy” condition when turning the wheel to the right. The steering wheel will resist movement and feel like it is caught on a notch. Additional force is required to overcome the bind, and when it releases, the vehicle abruptly jerks to the right. This sudden movement can cause the truck to swerve into the adjacent lane or off the roadway. The condition began as an occasional notchy feel but has worsened significantly over time. It now occurs frequently and requires substantial steering effort to overcome the bind. This presents a serious safety hazard, especially at highway speeds or when making small steering corrections. My Ford dealer (Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford of Lewisville) inspected the vehicle and confirmed the failure is in the electric power steering rack/module. The rack is binding internally and must be replaced. The repair estimate is approximately $3,500. Steering binding and sudden directional changes are safety‑critical. Loss of smooth steering control can lead to lane departure or loss of vehicle control. This appears to be a developing issue with the Lightning’s EPAS rack and warrants investigation.

Due to cracking in the body seam towards the roof on the A-pillar on the drivers side. During moderate to heavy rain water enters the cab of the truck and soaks the floorboard and thus soaks electrical components underneath said floor board. Ford motor company refuses to fix it under warranty and I fear it could cause issues with my windshield or electric components in the pillar or floorboard and cause a wreck or in jeopardize my safety in other manners. If you look online it has been documented multiple times and yet ford still refuses to fix it under warranty. I discovered the issue after a rain storm last week when I opened my door to approximately a 3 inch puddle in my floor board, and the vehicle is just outside of fords “factory warranty” which when I talked to ford customer service they said I would be out of pocket on it still as they wouldn’t cover it.

- #11770171October 9, 2026STEERING, SUSPENSION
The vehicle is experiencing an immediate, uncorrected mechanical steering safety defect where the internal steering geometry physically slips out of specification while driving at highway speeds. During a comprehensive diagnostic tear-down by an authorized manufacturer technician at Porter Ford on September 24–30, 2026 (RO #56117630), a structural component hardware failure was verified and documented in writing. The master technician explicitly noted that the 'steer head alignment was slipping out of spec' and that the root cause was a defective 'worm gear stake causing steer head slip.' Despite three consecutive dealership service alignment attempts, the internal steering mechanism continues to slip while the vehicle is in motion. This causes the vehicle to tracking-drift unpredictably on the highway and alters the steering wheel center position, creating an immediate loss-of-control crash hazard. The manufacturer has been unable to correct this structural failure

- #11769484October 7, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning with 42,220 mi. The rear light bar has formed a crack which will allow moisture intrusion (photo attached). This is the same condition named in recall 25SB6 (NHTSA 25V731) and predecessor 23S30 (NHTSA 23V418): water droplets in the lightbar outer lens, which can cause inoperative or flickering reverse lamps. On 10/06/2026 I took the truck to Elmhurst Ford. The dealer did not point to any outside forces that caused the crack, and acknowledged the recall stating they would attempt to have it covered under warranty or extended service plan purchased through Ford as my VIN was not listed/included. The dealer later said the part number was not covered and wanted to charge a diagnostic fee for searching a part number in a database. The service manager did relent on charging the diagnostic fee. I contacted the Ford BEV customer service and they confirmed it was not covered under any warranty or extended service contract and my VIN was not part of recall VIN population even though the defect is same model year truck (2022-2023), same trim (Lariat), same part number as recalled VINs. The dealer confirmed I have the earliest part number, not superseded. SAFETY RISK: A truck backing up without working reverse lamps is more likely to strike a pedestrian or a child below the driver's sightline, since others are not alerted the vehicle is reversing. Reverse lamps are federally required. This failure can result in serious injury or death. REQUEST: Please document the recurring light bar cracks allowing moisture into the reverse-lamp housing, even on VINs excluded in the initial recall. This issue is more widespread than what VINs are included in the initial recall. Owners cannot be expected to pay several thousands of dollars to replace 1 defective light on a truck, when the issue is already acknowledged with a recall.

- #11769136October 5, 2026UNKNOWN OR OTHER, SERVICE BRAKES, POWER TRAIN
I purchased a used 2023 Ford F-150 PowerBoost on April 3, 2026. Within days, the vehicle began making a hard clunk during initial acceleration and when stopping. It also hesitates before accelerating, especially while transitioning between electric and gasoline operation. At times, pressing the accelerator does not produce an immediate or predictable response. The problem is worse when accelerating uphill. This creates a collision risk when entering traffic, crossing intersections, merging, or driving uphill. The clunk can be heard and felt through the vehicle. There is also a loud, high-pitched whine that follows engine speed and certain gear transitions and can become extremely loud at highway speeds. On April 22, a Ford dealer confirmed the clunk during acceleration and stopping. The dealer found excessive movement in the rear leaf-spring and shackle bushings and replaced them, but the clunk and hesitation continued. On May 11, the dealer confirmed the high-pitched whine, traced it to the Hybrid Drive Unit, consulted Ford’s escalation team, and replaced the unit. The whining, clunking, shifting irregularities, and hesitation remained and have progressively worsened. Another Ford dealer later inspected the vehicle, but its road test was fewer than two miles, remained below approximately 30 mph, and did not include highway driving, uphill acceleration, merging, or entering traffic. The conditions causing the most serious symptoms were therefore not evaluated. Associated warning lights or messages are UNKNOWN. The vehicle is now parked because I no longer consider it safe to drive. It is available for inspection upon request.

On 10/5/2026 the front part of the sunroof on my Lightning burst into pieces and fell onto me and all over my cab while I was driving down the road. I had glass pieces and shards all over me and the front of the truck. I've read online that some other have also had issues with the same component. There was no warning. It wasn't hot, it was around 50degrees. I can't say there wasn't an existing crack or rock fracture, but I didn't find any evidence of rocks in the debris. I also can't say if I got popped with a rock, but since so many others have had the same issue, I felt it needs to be reported. This is very dangerous to happen while you are driving.

Rear axle half shaft and hub replacement assembly (Manufacturer Recall Number 25S82 NHTSA Recall Number25V512). Neither Ford nor the local dealership seem to care about repairing this issue in a timely manner. The truck was inspected soon after the recall was received. The dealer confirmed that my truck fell under the recall. They supposedly placed an order for parts at that time (October 2025). A year later the repair has not been completed. I have contacted Ford Customer Service twice about the parts availability issue. Ford states the parts are available. The dealership states the parts are not available. According to the NTSB, recall repairs should happen in a timely manner. If they don't, NTSB suggests filing a complaint. I believe more than a year of waiting, with noting done, has given both Ford and the dealership ample time for repairs to be completed. This is an official complaint regarding the lack of expediency by both Ford and the local dealership.

The vehicle's sunroof shattered spontaneously with a very loud, explosive noise similar to a gunshot. This was not an object strike, no vehicles were nearby or within 300 feet in front and nothing was overhead. The sunroof exploded upward and outward; most glass ended up in bed of the truck. The sunroof shade was drawn, so no glass fell into the cab and a small amount fell onto the sunshade. The break pattern was large, uniform, and symmetric across the sunroof, its widest point across the front edge of the sunroof. There was no warning for this at all, no noises or visual indicators that anything was wrong with the sunroof before the incident. The primary safety risk for this specific incident was the distraction and reaction to the explosive sound. If the sunshade were open, there would have been some glass coming down into the cab. The dealer investigated and confirmed it was an unusual break pattern, not necessarily what was expected from an object strike.

The high-voltage battery in my Ford F-150 Lightning is exhibiting significant degradation and erratic power availability. The vehicle will no longer charge above approximately 60% state of charge. Upon startup, available power can suddenly drop from 100% to approximately 50%, and the indicated available power continues to fluctuate unpredictably while the vehicle is being driven. I am concerned this condition could result in an unexpected reduction or loss of propulsion power while driving, creating a potential safety hazard. Car is scheduled to go to dealer on 10/8/2026.

The rear tail lights do not function. The vehicle cannot be driven at night because it has no rear illumination. It puts both the operator and other vehicles at risk of collision. I took the vehicle to a Ford dealer for repair. They reported the tail lights failed due to corrosion of the wiring harness pin connectors due to water intrusion. The wiring harness would have to be replaced at a cost of $4,375.32. I was unaware of the taillight failure until the power tailgate became inoperable. The tailgate and taillights are operated by the same wiring harness. There are no warning lamps or messages on the vehicle indicating the lights are not working. I believe this issue may be related to recall 23S30 and the harness may have been improperly connected during the initial failed recall repair.

I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly shifts violently, lurches from P to D, delayed shifting. This occurred while while driving under normal conditions creating a potentially dangerous situation because the truck did not respond as expected when I needed predictable acceleration or propulsion. I believe this incident may be related to the known 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve problem. Ford technical information identifies axial movement of the CDF sleeve that can cause hydraulic-circuit leaks and harsh or delayed engagement and shifting. This condition can result in slipping, RPM flares, delayed engagement, unexpected gear changes, harsh downshifts, lurching, or loss of propulsion. This is a safety concern, not merely a transmission quality or reliability issue. Unexpected loss of propulsion or unpredictable shifting while merging, accelerating into traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, or traveling at highway speed can create a collision hazard. Because I personally experienced this unexpected transmission event, I request that NHTSA investigate the 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve condition in Ford F-150s. Please review Ford warranty claims, dealer repair records, transmission replacements, consumer complaints, and field-failure data to determine whether this is a safety defect requiring a recall. I believe owners should not have to wait for a potentially dangerous transmission failure before this known condition is addressed.
