Our brand new 2023 Ford Bronco Sport was destroyed by a spontaneous under-the-hood fire that occurred within thirty days of delivery and with less than 50 miles on the odometer. An independent examination found this consistent with a fuel injector fire. Ford Motor Company has publicly acknowledged similar problems with the Bronco Sport models and purportedly has recalled and "fixed" all effected vehicles. We notified Ford of this incident, that the production and delivery dates of our Bronco Sport were well AFTER these recalls had been completed, and that the VIN of our Bronco Sport does NOT appear on Ford's recall registry. In the overwhelming interest of public safety, we have urged Ford Motor Company to recover this vehicle and conduct its own investigation. Despite awareness and prior efforts by the Ford Motor Company to identify and correct defects in the design of the Bronco Sport, the catastrophic failure of our vehicle indicates a persistent problem and a significant ongoing consumer safety hazard. Ford Motor Company has not responded to our repeated requests and we are asking the NHTSA to conduct further inquiry.

While my granddaughter was driving this vehicle there was a sudden loud boom and the radio went to max volume, causing an excruciating decibel level of noise and static. Fortunately she was on a low volume road and was able to immediately stop the vehicle in the road (In shock of course) and she then tried to turn the radio off to no avail! She exited the vehicle, called her dad who was nearby and he showed up and turned the vehicle off. This ear piercing noise would not stop until several moments after the vehicle was turned off. This noise was so sudden, shocking and deafening that had she been on a high volume roadway she could have easily been been involved in a serious accident while attempting to turn off the radio (which didn't work) or get to a safe place to exit the vehicle. There was/is also the real possibility of permanent hearing loss!

SERVICE BRAKES
The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle new a little over a year ago. They make a loud noise after sitting for too long, plus the calipers seem to "stick". There is a hesitation when I put the vehicle into R or D and have to put my foot on the gas in order for it to "lurch" into movement. I have mentioned this to my dealer service and we informed by them that this is just the way the brakes are on these particular vehicles. If that is indeed the case, then Ford has installed sub-par brakes on all the Bronco Sports.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE
Slowing down at a red light, getting into a left hand turning lane there was a "thud" sound and then the car completely shut off. Nothing worked, screens went blank, no hazards, no lights. We were stuck in the middle of the road with no way to even get the car out of the way. Every once in a while the green would come on or an alarm would go off but quickly went back to black. Tow truck was able to jump it to get it on the truck but half way through the ride the engine died once more. There was no warning at all. If this would have happened on the highway, it would have been catastrophic. After learning about this happening to others and hearing that it may happen again, I will not feel safe in this car moving forward: car is a 2021 Bronco Sport, 52,000 miles. Please do something!!!

SERVICE BRAKES
The brakes are constantly making a horrible noise in reverse. I’ve been to two dealerships to try and have this fixed. I’ve also call ford motor co multiple times and just get run around. The dealership can’t figure out what’s causing it it’s been in at least 10times and still no fix it’s a safety issue and I refuse to transport my grandbabies in it. The dealership will call ford and ford has no idea either how to fix it I’ve asked for a refund and was denied. I am an unhappy ford owner and I can’t get ford to help me

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that when the vehicle was in reverse, there was a loud squealing sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer six times to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the rear brakes needed to be repaired. The gaskets and brake calibers were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving with the high-beam headlights engaged, there was a dark spot on the driver's side headlight, reducing the visibility of the roadway. The contact stated that the failure was distracting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed the failure was caused by a design flaw. The dealer informed the contact that there was a piece of metal hanging inside the headlamp housing, which interfered with the driver's side headlight while driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

Vehicle experienced catastrophic power failure while I was driving. Without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. The engine stopped, the brakes engaged, the dash went black. There was no way to communicate with the vehicle -- no way to engage emergency flashers or even to push it to the side of the road (because the brakes were locked). There was a loud "pulse" sound coming through the speakers -- "thump. . .thump. . .thump. . ." which continued for 5 - 10 minutes. A police officer who stopped to assist noted the rear tail lights were strobing. The "P" on the transmission shifter flashed continually. Over the next 30 minutes, the infotainment screen rebooted twice, but went to black within seconds. The instrument panel rebooted once, but also went black after a few seconds. The car was towed to Kings Ford in Mason/Deerfield Township OH. The service tech reported the only issue was a dead battery which he replaced. That issue has not reoccurred in my Bronco Sport. I was involved in an accident with a deer. It impacted my driver door. The impact and physical damage were minimal to moderate. However, at least 6 airbags deployed, totaling out the vehicle. There have been some recalls on 2021 Broncos for faulty airbag sensors. There was no recall on mine. Yet, I believe these sensors were faulty as it was a minor impact to the vehicle. As I had purchased this vehicle before inflated prices and inflated interest, my financial loss is great. Had at least 6 airbags not deployed, my vehicle would not be a total loss.

My moonroof exploded unexpectedly. I was traveling on a 4-lane highway, approximately 60mph. No other cars nearby, no overpasses, no pedestrians anywhere along. Suddenly, it sounded like a shotgun went off inside the vehicle. I pulled over to inspect the vehicle and discovered that the moonroof had broken around the entire perimeter of the glass. I took photos of the moonroof, then removed the broken glass enough to be able to drive directly to the dealership. They have inspected the vehicle, but are refusing to cover the issue under warranty. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety, and the safety of others, was put at risk because: - the sound of the explosion could have caused me to wreck or to wreck into others - the glass from the moonroof could have fallen on me or other passengers in the vehicle - the glass from the moonroof could have flown off the vehicle and struck another vehicle or passers-by. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure.

Vehicle started missing at 30-40mph. No lights were on but I took it to the dealership and they determined a new transmission was needed at a cost of $6464.33 plus tax. They indicated it was a known issue but no recall had been issued so I was responsible for the cost. I checked around at other transmission shops and they also said they had been seeing those issues. I looked online and online forums don’t even recommend OEM parts because they will fail.

SERVICE BRAKES
Vehicle has 14,600 miles on it. After a regular service for an oil change i requested that the Technician look at the brakes due to abnormal noise coming from them. Technician confirmed that the front brake pad are warn down and need to be replaced and that the rotors as well have been worn down and are in need of needing replacement. With the low amount of miles on the car the brake pads and rotors should not need replacing till at least ( my opinion) for a minimum of 30,000 miles. I have contacted for about this issue and they are not willing to replace them although everyone i have spoken to agree that this is an abnormal amount of wear for a car with such low miles and that there is an issue here that is a major safety issue

My truck with dead at a turning light, it's still UNKNOWN what happened. I had 2 people try to give it a boost and it would not turn on, the gears were locked, and it had to be pulled on the tow truck. The brake lights signal was flashing, and the engine light was on the dashboard along with the battery light. I could not get it to turn on and there was no sound to the engine. the radio was working and none of the lights went dim.

POWER TRAIN
Grinding noise from backend, vehicle went into limp mode and I was not able to accelerate, rpms were bouncing. Was able to cruise the rest of the way home at 40mph. Researching and finding that there were recalls on RDU on certain vehicles but not my particular bronco. I do not take my vehicle off reading. I drive interstate to and from work. Car is 2 years old and RDU should not being going bad other than poor lubrication from manufacturer
