our 2013 dodge journey has been fixed three times off for the driveshaft. The mechanic shop keeps stating that the bolts are falling out and they have no reason to give us. We have to purchase the boats from that dealership in the cost a good amount of money, and we’ve only had the car for about four years

Front cylinder head number two is misfiring. It is a known problem with this engine and older models have an extended warranty. My 2019 is not covered. It’s an expensive repair and seems like a problem.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Headlight housings leak on both sides of car causing extreme condensation buildup causing poor visibility and causing headlight bulbs to burn out at unpredictable times. Loss of a headlight causing serious vision problems at night. I've had to change headlight bulbs often, problem started in early 2020 and I believe Chrysler/ Dodge should have a recall for their defective headlight housings on this vehicle. The estimated cost to replace their defective housings is well over $1,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the "Service Engine" warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that cylinder #6 had experienced a misfire. Additionally, the engine had experienced low compression and cylinder head damage. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.

STEERING
My power steering went out after 35k miles driven, it was bought brand new off the showroom floor. I took it to a dodge dealership and the parts to fix it are under engineer review and back order and they could not fix it, they couldn’t give me a estimated time when they would be able to, I have been without a car to drive to and from work, school and my children’s dr appoints for 3 months now while still making my loan payments. I have called the manufacturer and they are going on week number 2 of the employee there helping me not being able to reach anyone via phone or email to respond on what to do, or even where to start.

So I the wiring harness in the hatch needed replaced. So we replaced it and a year later the interior light would come on randomly, then my rear wiper stopped working, all my rear light are messed up sometimes they work sometimes they don't. And not the computer says don't ajar so I can't lock my 2012 journey and the alarm goes of randomly... I'm afraid it's gonna catch fire like I have been reading online.

The wire Harness in hatch where it meets in the boot wires break from using hatch 2010 to 2020 all models and can cause camera wiper brake lights reverse lights plate lights and tail lamps and unlock and lock button not to work on hatch the wires break from normal use on all models and it can cause a spark and start a fire

The vehicle wouldn’t start, just kept idolizing. After trying for 10 minutes then getting a new key battery, the vehicle started then engine light was on. A code for crankshaft was on. But then check engine light went off by time I was home. Car broke down in middle of road. Wheel and breaks locked up which was very unsafe with my kids in car and I was unable to move it till tow truck came. Vehicle started working once it was at the auto repair shop. So we had him change the fuel pump because nothing else would show was wrong with the vehicle. Then 5 days later it broke down again. It is now back at the auto repair with no code showing.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Brake system has ongoing and continuous defects, malfunctions and failure. I have had calipers fall off and pr stick causing the wheel to overheat and melt the tire rim. Replaced all that. Brakes never seem strong enough to properly stop this vehicle safely. Brake lights stay off and on light a Christmas tree. Had several inspections for code errors. Replace entire system in January of 2023. $1,800. Less than 500 miles later, another caliper sticks, then snaps causing entire break assembly to move, damaging yet another wheel rim. I love this vehicle. The room, style. But it's not safe. I've almost caused an accident on the road 3 times due to this useless brake system. This last incident put me in a ditch. It's still in the mechanics shoo. Severe wheel damage this time.

I'm original owner of 2009 dodge journey, and hearing of electrical problems causing fires, I want to inform you. 1) I have been having problems with the horn sounding off intermittently. 2) I have my radio that stop working which has the hands free cell phone speaker and the review camera. 3) most recently the drivers side door window switches to driver's window and front passenger window stopped working. I don't know what would be next but am concerned about the safety of my family in reference to this reported fire incident. Follow-up with the article in regards to a possible electrical problems in older Dodge Journey after a woman was trapped and died when her SUV caught fire in December. Issues reported warning lights started flashing, windshield wipers came on, the horn started honking, windows wouldn't go down and the doors wouldn't unlock. Those are of the TIPM that have been reported for years and nothing has been done. I have personal experienced everything that others witnessed with 2009 except for I have not had a fire yet, I have been stuck in my vehicle for times due to window won't go down and doors will not unlock. Horn , lights, wipers, continue to go off I have to pull fuses out all the time just so not to disturb the neighbors as it happens at all hours not just when driving it. It caused a brand new battery to swell up that was caught by a mechanic, the TIPM has been changed 2 times now and still have issues along with the battery was replaced 3 times so far and maybe this is why I have not had a fire because I continue to get a new one. The contact called on behalf of his mother-in-law who owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the vehicle was displaying erroneous electrical functions. The contact stated that the windows would roll up and down, the windshield wipers would suddenly activate, the exterior lights would illuminate, the doors would lock and unlock, and the horn would sound. The vehicle also suddenly stalled while driving at various speeds and while also while idling. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the key fob however, the failure persisted. The dealer was contacted and offered to change the fuse box; however, the repair was not performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,199.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Abs system has moisture in there was a recall on. Couse the abs system to fail and is not working. I was driving in snow condition when it went fail the first time and almost lost control when applying the brakes. The problem has been reproduced and the car is at an independent repair shop. The abs trackion control light and check engine light where turned on.
